Avatar f tn I am a 56 years old female and in relatively good health. I take one medication for hbp. Recently the middle joints of my little fingers are very tender, red and tend to be very itchy, if that makes any sense and I've also begun noticing some tiny red nodules at the first joint of my index fingers and little fingers. Some times the nodules are a little more pronouced than other times.
Avatar n tn When i bend my finger up and down and touch the joint of the finger with the hard lump on it , it seems like the lump seems to stay on the joint and it moves just a little, when i press on it. And also, when i press on the hard knot on the finger joint, it feels kind of like the joint is bigger on the outside under the skin in the joint. I think it burns now a little when i start pressing on the knot really much.
Avatar m tn Not long after she developed three largeish (1mm or so) nodules just under the skin along with joint pain. The bumps started showing over a week and as they got larger the joint pain spread up the finger and across the hand. As it got worse we noticed the pad on her hand next to the index finger was swelling with a lot of pain to the touch. We talked to another ortho doc and he said it was carpel tunnel, or trigger finger and wants to inject steroids.
Avatar n tn About 3 weeks ago I found a nodul on my finger. I went to the doctor's and he wants me to have blood test to rule out rheumatoid arthritis. I had an x-ray of the other hand because two of my finger's joints (the ones below the nail) hurt when I move them but he couldn't reveal anything important. I'm very worried about it I know it's a serious disease. It's a nodul on the finger's joint always means rheumatoid arthritis???
Avatar f tn these tender spots sometimes have little nodules under the skin. is this connected with my fibromyalgia?
Avatar f tn It started off one night, I felt a pain in my middle joint of index finger, I started massaging it and it was painful, when I woke up, I had a swollen finger. After few days it increased in size, I had few scratches/sting like pins in the skin in that area, I was put on amoxicillin 2x every 12hrs and after like 4 days it decreased and got back to normal, then a week later it appeared again... it started with pains in the morning and night, but decreasing during the day.
536293 tn?1233252389 These are commonly found at pressure points like the elbow, back of the forearm, and metacarpophalangeal joint. Nodules usually occur in chronic active cases of rheumatoid arthritis, and are commonly associated with more joint deformity and serious extra-articular manifestations including lungs, eyes, and blood vessels.
Avatar f tn m a 21 year old female and over a year ago experienced swelling in just one finger with a lump around the joint as well as muscle pain and fatigue. My thryroid came back borderline underactive and CRP level was not high enough to warrant testing for RA. After 8 months of no symptoms, all fingers on my right hand have been swelling up, some with lumps around the joints. Also has appeared in some of my toes and i am currently experiencing knee pain.
186737 tn?1269884660 In 2001, I had positive rheumatoid factor, nodules, but low ESR. I always have low ESR regardless of how sick I was or what infections I had, etc. After first being seropositive I have since then been negative and my ESR is always like 1 or 2. I get tendonitis all the time and have during the whole time. MRI has shown the tendonitis, so it isn't in my head. MTX keeps it at bay. Prednisone does too, but makes my tendons weak. My first rheumatologist of 5 years said I had Seroneg RA.
Avatar f tn Most nodules are benign. Nodules are commonly caused by Hashimoto's. Dry hair is a sign of hypothyroidism, commonly caused by Hashi. Swollen glands are a sign of Hashi, as are rashes, hives, dry skin, IBS, GERD, heartburn, depression, joint pain, foot pain, leg pain, low vitamins (especially D and B12), brain fog, fatigue, weight gain. Sometimes, Hashi can cause hyper symptoms such as shaky hands, anxiety, diarrhea, rapid heart rate, etc...
Avatar f tn ve been having minor pain in the smallest joint on my fourth finger on my right hand. Because I work seven days a week during the school year, I never saw the doctor. But it started getting worse. It hurts, if my fist is closed, to bump the knuckle from above. It also hurts to stretch my fingers out (laying flat is okay, but if I try to stretch them at all, it hurts).
Avatar f tn All of a sudden the piece of skin in between my thumb and finger has become stiff. I don't think it would be trigger finger but i might be wrong. It won't go either. What can I do? It's hard to stretch my thumb away from the hand and spread my fingers without it hurting.

Avatar f tn Hi! I am doing well! not sure about weight; I am not under any diet; I am very thin person and I cannot put myself on diets. I have lost 5 pounds in the last year, but I think it is because I am stressed; getting divorced, a 4years old toddler boy, house and GM sometimes drives me crazy.
Avatar m tn m a house painter and recently brought my hand down onto the sharp point of one of my painting tools. It cut into the side if my rt hand middle finger, middle joint (between the knuckle and the lower joint) It bled a bit and swelled up of course. That was over two weeks ago. I still have noticable swelling in that joint, especially on the rt side, and considerable pain. The rest of my hand hurts lately, probably from compensating for the lack of use of the middle finger. Any ideas?
Avatar m tn I'm 28 and I have joint pain in my finger joints and I feel it in my wrists sometimes too. And in the digits of my feet (I think). I have no RF in my blood and the doctor said just take Ibuprofen. I am slightly over weight because of bulimia. I've had gluten sensitivity problems (makes me sluggish and hungry). AND labyrinthitus in the past months. No thyroid problems. Not diabetic. Feeling it might be Fibromyalgia ? I'm lost.
Avatar f tn Is anyone out there hypo with normal TSH and FT4? My TSH has been 2.74 and 2.69. My FT4 has been 1.3. I am trying to present a case for my endo. My mom and dad both had thyroid disease (don't remember which) but they each had thyroid lobes/nodules removed and took Synthroid.
1427077 tn?1282913207 I have a lump on the top joint of my index finger which has been there for about 2 months now. Sometimes its sore but now always & its starting to get bigger. Is it worth getting it checked out?
Avatar n tn When there is a capsular injury to a joint in finger, it is best to give the RICE treatment for a few days such as rest, ice application, compression bandage (you can strap the injured finger with the neighboring finger) and elevation (keep hands elevated on a pillow at bed time). You can also take an anti-inflammatory pain killer. Once the injury settles down and there is less pain you have to start physiotherapy.
Avatar n tn headaches, joint/back/neck ache, overall feeling crummy and the nodules. Also the fact that the multiple antibiotics didn't help.
Avatar f tn any amount of swelling in a small joint such as a finger joint can cause quite a bit of discomfort. It sounds like you "jammed" the joint(s). It can take a long time to resolve. Like 6-9 months. You could try soaking it in hot water to loosen things up and try to pull and put tension on the finger to loosen up the joint. Pull the finger slowly, steadily, and gently straight out. I have found this can help loosen it up and relieve some pressure in the joint.
