Fibromyalgia zoloft

Common Questions and Answers about Fibromyalgia zoloft

fibromyalgia

Avatar n tn s, etc were done and doctors, through a process of elimination, came to the conclusion that I had fibromyalgia. At that time there was no Lyrica, they gave me Zoloft 50mg. I was someone who exercised daily and felt great until then. The exercise went down to very, very, little because of the pain. It took a few weeks, but I got better. The zoloft also helped with the depression. Wishing you well and never give up.
Avatar f tn My doctor just put me on medication for fibromyalgia today- It is Vicodins for pain. Does Effexor XR and Zoloft help these since he put me on all three?
Avatar n tn I started researching on the internet about the correlation between infectious diseases (giardia in my case), stress, and fibromyalgia. I am really scared cause i started developing a lof of the symptoms described for fibromyalgia such as fatigue, numbness/pain tingling mostly in my left arm but every now in my legs and right arm also. i also have skin sensitivity around my upper back area which feels like somebody is poking me with acupuncture needles.
Avatar f tn Iam a mother with 2 young children and I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia 4 years ago. Since then I have been suffering with extreme pain that never lets up. I am curious if anyone else has ideas on which medicines work better for pain. I also suffer from depression and anxiety issues. I also have difficulty sleeping, I feel so alone, because neither my family or friends understand my problems. They think I do not really have medical problems. I appreciate if anyone replies!
Avatar m tn I had insomnia and fibromyalgia. My doctor put me on Cymbalta. He said it would help me with sleep and pain. It was 2 weeks of hell, no sleep and constant pain and I wanted to kill myself!!! I was not depressed and have no history of depression. my doctor switched me to amitriptyline. It helps with sleep but not pain, I would never recommend Cymbalta to anyone !
Avatar m tn He basically said this was all anxiety still, and thought I really needed to be on a daily medication instead of just taking ativan when it got really bad. He prescribed me zoloft 100mg, but suggested I start with 50mg to try and lessen the side effects. I have not taken it yet as I am anxious about taking it (of course). I am really just curious as what to expect when starting this. It is supposed to have fewer side effects than the paxil.
Avatar f tn Hi.. I upped my dose of Zoloft 5 days ago, and the increased anxiety has abated.. but now something new! I woke up last night with a very sore wrist..I do have some carpal tunnel issues.. but never this painful or long lasting! Today it is still very sore when I move it and very achy. It is very painful to touch the thumb side of my wrist and up along my thumb. Is this another side effect, and will it go? Of course it is on my left hand... which made for a fun 3.
Avatar m tn I had completely forgot this same thing happened 20+ years ago when starting zoloft. My neck literally locks up, and I have blacked out a few secs/mins to such excruciating pain that people were staring at me at the store, but I couldn't move. Been on what seems every AD since I was a kid and there is always a issue. Now have FibroMyalgia, anxiety, entire spine pain, depression, FibroFog, shots in spine every 4 months and hips when bursitis acts up.
Avatar f tn Other antidepressants are also helpful, such as zoloft, and the treatment for both neuropathy and fibromyalgia is similar, and often, more than one medication is necessary to control the symptoms. Combinations of medications are not necessarily harmful if taken as prescribed, and if certain other things (such as excessive alcohol consumption) is consumed at the same time. Many people are on combinations similar to yours and find benefit without major side effects.
Avatar f tn I'm taking zoloft and have for years... My doctor is thinking about switching me to Cymbalta... for fibromyalgia pain. Think it might help?
1564938 tn?1295220228 I have IBS and currently taking zoloft for postpartum depression. The vicodon I take for my back no longer works for the pain and I contsantly feel drained. My hands are tingling all the time, go numb and pain extends out to both elbows. Almost like cramping pain. It's been really bad and comes on very easily. I feel like I'm falling apart. Any ideas would help.

Avatar n tn Im a 24 year female, and recently have been prescribed to antidepressants, and xanax for sleep, I tried lexapro, for a week, but I'm paranoid about side effects, and I started to feel very disoriented at night and had side effects such as, muscle twitching, ticking, confusion, wierd vision change, so I told my doctor this and I was exspecially concerned about the muscle twitching, I get it all over my legs, arms sometimes in my cheeks, and sometimes even my abdomen, my doctor kind of shrugge
709619 tn?1230161475 Do people with fibromyalgia experience attacks similar to MS that last for a week or so and then subside with more mild symptoms, or is it a chronic condition? And are the painful areas always sensitive to touch? I've been dealing with something that feels neurological in nature and I'm working with my neurologist on eliminating certain conditions. I have thus far eliminated two conditions that resemble the symptoms I've been dealing with i.e., ALS and B12 deficiency.
Avatar f tn I had an interesting conversation with someone who writes articles for a fibro. website. My question to my friend was: "Have they ever done any type of study to see if taking antidepressants at an earlier time may have upset our dopamine, serotonin or norepinephrine balance and could that potentially have any relationship to our dx now?" Her response was "They won't go there.
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia. I am 25 years old and it is almost crippling for me. Right now I am on Ultram and zoloft. My dr wants me to go see a rheumatologist. I am so upset about the diagnosis because I am so young. I have little kids that I want to chase around at the park and play with but it is a struggle just to get out of bed.
Avatar m tn Hello, I have a question. I'm new here, I'm a 26 year old male and I was recently diagnosed with Crohn's. I do NOT have diarrhea, blood in my stool, etc but I DO have fatigue, weakness, I think I have some sort of arthritis (joints feel weak), but my MAIN question is something to do with the nervous system. ALL of this happened suddenly one night when I took a laxative for constipation I had back in October.
587021 tn?1302217307 A positive ANA test isn't always positive in people with fibromyalgia but it sometimes is. I'm not familiar with savella or zoloft but I agree the weight loss would be a bonus. lol I have a lot of bladder issues as well that I am sure are related to fibro. Do you have "nap"jerks and restless legs?
999058 tn?1257563650 I finally get health insurance so I go see a doctor who prescribes me a generic form of Prilosec to possibly treat me for GERD. I am also put on a generic for Zoloft for my anxiety. It's been a couple weeks since I started the medication and in some ways I feel better but now I have random deep muscle like pains in my calves and thighs along with muscle spasms. Again, I go to the ER. Everything checks out okay, again. No signs of clotting, tumors, all my levels are normal.
475300 tn?1312423126 s can cause all sorts of problems, seizures being one of them. Fibromyalgia diagnosis this week and my doc gave me a script for 100 with a refill. Pharmacy would not fill it because I am on zoloft. A google search confirms this. So the doc ended up calling in darvocet which has acetaminaphin in which I would rather not take . I did try to get the pharm to fill the ultram as I have a dog that takes it. It would be so much cheaper to get it under my name instead of the vet.
Avatar n tn I was wondering if reducing the Wellbutrin to 150 and adding Zoloft would be good? I took Zoloft in the past and it worked. I think the Wellbutrin is good for fibromyalgia and I don't want to give it up completely.
Avatar f tn http://www.webmd.com/fibromyalgia/tc/fibromyalgia-topic-overview here's a little info on it...best site I could find, even though it's not as reputable as I would like...
Avatar n tn in my legs, arms, basically anywhere you touch is all knotted up and tight. Could it be my diet? I am on generic Zoloft (half a pill) and Wellbutrin SR (generic). I don't know if they have a side effect of tight or spastic muscles. I go to the chiropractor 3x's a week and massage therapy once a week for a half hour. I would do more but that's all I have time and money for at the moment. I am looking into actupuncture.
Avatar f tn ve tried prozac, lexapro, wellbutrin... the next on the list to try is zoloft) and nothing has helped. Prozac helped some, but I was sleeping all the time. I am going for a second opinion (different PCP now, and a new psychiatrist/therapist combo) and another nerve conduction study and round of bloodtests... And am completely frustrated at the lack of answers.
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia around 2002, was put on zoloft, did very mild exercise and it seemed to have gone away. I will look into the info you gave me. These symptoms are very different from what I recall, but they could very well be intertwined. Thanks again.
638895 tn?1223066826 I forget. 11 out of 18 tender points must be present. fibromyalgia-symptoms.org is a very good site for learning about fibro. Are you on chemo?
Avatar m tn When I was 13 until I was 16 I was prescribed Zoloft for anxiety. The Zoloft gave me mood swings so I was also prescribed Lamictal to deal with, what they then decided was Bipolar Disorder. (A few years later I saw a number of psychologists, all of which assured me I was not Bipolar) To deal with the hyperactive effects of the Lamictal, they perscribed Adderal.
