Avatar f tn Yoga, with its low intensity exercise, breathing and meditation reduces the pain, fatigue and sleep problems associated with fibromyalgia. Researchers have found that yoga can offer a 30 percent reduction in fibromyalgia pain. That’s roughly in line with the relief offered by many drugs, and even better than some of them with none of the risk. Buy exercise bands and use them for stretching. I have my wife doing this and very light weights for a few years now and it's helped.
Avatar f tn The pain was substantially reduced sot hat I can now practice my yoga and pilates in kneeling positions with absolutely no pain, but after about a month, I started having gastrointestinal problems...not exactly diarrhea, but... I also take warfarin due to a replaced mitral valve and once-daily extended-release metformin for borderline diabetes. I checked interactions for warfarin and there seems to be no problem with interactions.
Avatar n tn Sometimes it begins right after i lay down and other times i can go to sleep but once I change positions it begins.I have had multiple damage tomy back over the years. Scoliosis, in several wrecks including a Pick Up fliping over on top of me, L4 back surgery and diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. I now sting and burn from my spine around to my ribs. If I do anything repetitive it is just that much worse.
Avatar f tn arthritis, lupus, ms, b12, diabetes, fibromyalgia, carpal tunnel, cancer. The only I was diagnosed with was Peripheral Neuropathy. I ask the neuro.. so what can I do to help the symptoms? He said exercise. That's it! I said well do you think it's anxiety or mental and he said he didn't think so. My father has Parkinson's disease. He is 72. He had symptoms for many years and they told him it was not PD. Then he finally got diagnosed at 70 or so. I work out and eat healthy, yoga ect.
Avatar n tn I go for anything non-medical before I hit a pill. Heat packs or ice packs, positions of head to drain blood... Massage, acupuncture or whatever to experiment and see if any of those help. Headaches really are draining.
Avatar m tn Finger and wrist pain doing normal activities / press ups or yoga, using hands and fingers to give a neck or back rub to partner, applying pressure in any similar way or using hands for a period of time like a screw driver or computer mouse. (not a very long period of time like 6 hours, just more than a few minutes) Wrist: Sometimes very bad pain in tendon which runs over wrist bone. It clicks/pops over the knobbly bit when I rotate my wrist.
Avatar n tn It reduced in severity after a year. I can avoid it somewhat by avoiding certain positions and movements. I would advise anyone with first time symptoms of costochronditis to check out other diseases like blood clots or tuberulosis I think my costochronditis was initiated by the PE given the timing of onset though I don't know how. Perhaps it was some sort of autoimmune thing.
529159 tn?1224994626 I have had Fibromyalgia and CFS for 20 years. Has anyone had any problems with SEVERE muscle cramps and is it from the Fibro? Mine always hit the inside thigh muscle and are as bad as labor pains. They actually build and release just like a contraction. They are severe enough to make my cry and all I can do is try to stretch them out and put Biofreeze on them. I can't take many more of these. Any ideas what this might be coming from?

Avatar n tn I know lots of people are in worse positions than me and I admire so many of the people on this forum who are fighting some really big demons. I'm finding it very helpful to share my struggle and know that you are there with support.
Avatar f tn She thinks I may be overtaxing my nervous system with my Yoga. Yes, too much yoga. Ashtanga yoga is pretty strength and flexibility demanding. It is my passion though. I have worked very hard for 3 years to achieve what I have gained. It would break my heart if I had to give it up. The Klonipin is working nicely. I barely notice the shaking during the day. It does not turn it completely off though. I am up to .5mg x1 a day. Neurology follow up is in 1 month.
Avatar n tn If I am up sitting, standing to long it gets worse. Chest too...but I think that is the fibromyalgia. After a few hours, I have to lay down. Thanks goodness for laptops!
Avatar n tn I also do a couple of yoga stretches. I hope this helps. They also gave me a cortisone shot in my spine. It worked for a while. I find stretching works just as well.
Avatar m tn I am male, 32 in OH. I exercise regularly, eat right for the most part, do yoga, running, weight training. I do not smoke or do drugs and I rarely drink except the occasional tasty IPA beer or a nice glass of vino. :) I have never been on any meds except for when I get seasonal allergies in May each spring. (I just got the shot in the rear end yesterday actually, so hopefully no sniffles this year!) Anyway, back to the point...
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with some osteo-arthritis in my neck a few years ago, at that time causing some pain in my left arm. I started doing yoga and that went away, but I do wonder if it is related to my spine or neck also. It is a relief to learn that others have this. Thanks all for writing. If I learn anything else I will write again.

Avatar f tn Soooo glad I found this site. I have had this pain in both knees off and on for years. No one has had a real diagnosis for me and even my Yoga instructor said she was not well versed in the subject. However, I do agree that some yoga positions, especially "table" for me, are extremely painful. It's the type of thing that you forget about until it happens, since it doesn't hurt during any normal daily acitivities other than kneeling.
Avatar f tn I have been in multiple car accidents but only ended up with bulging discs, whipflash, and spranged something. I was diagnosed with having Fibromyalgia in 2002. I just read in some of my previous doctors notes from 1999 that I had rhematoid arthritis. My blood work came back and my doctor said she thinks I have anemia. I have a doctor's appt. with a Rheumatologist 5/1/08. Too long of a wait. I have Straight Medicaid only.
317787 tn?1473362051 Dee, I am so sorry you are experiencing these joint problems. I too have experienced joint pain but sometime after SVR it did improve somewhat. However as I swim and do yoga, I find that I need to be very careful because it seems like I am "pulling" something every time I turn around.I spend a lot of time applying heat to sore areas.
Avatar n tn I don't seem to have migraine or heart issues so that is a no.. I am leaning to fibromyalgia - thinking my muscles must be shortening thus all the cracking but this is just from reading various other posts. I am not in the extreme pain some people seem to have with this condition. But I still do not have an answer.
Avatar m tn That post about stretching sounds like a good idea. I also do yoga about once a week, and it has helped me in other areas about muscular tightness, soreness, pain.
2107676 tn?1388977459 I am taking Lyrica that was prescribed for my fibromyalgia but I can only take it for a few days because it gives me a hangover and it's too expensive for me to take forever. He wanted to put me on Cymbalta when the Lyrica wasn't the answer but it is really expensive as well. I asked him for oxy but he freaked out. I was crying and he was pissed off. He told me any good doctor would never prescribe narcotics like that for fibromyalgia.
Avatar n tn I have fibromyalgia, and it started with a back injury with 2 herniated discs and 3 bulging discs and I have degenerative discs in my neck, with arthritis. I believe there is arthritis in the spinal injury (base of my spine). Has anyone had the muscle spasms go throughout his/her body?
