Avatar f tn s prenatal yoga in YouTube. Its about half an hour video and she has simplified the asanas for pregnant women. I would recommend watching and doing one asana at a time so that you get the right muscles to work on. Don't forget to ask your doctor before starting and generally its a good idea to start and end the yoga with pranayam exercises like om-vilom, for warm up and cool down. Its not part of the video but you can find them too on you tube. all the best.
4190741 tn?1370177832 s Pose is commonly known as a place of rest in yoga. Most people use it to relax and regroup in between more challenging asanas during class. I've found a lot of comfort in utilizing it to help ease my anxiety symptoms. Child's Pose helps to release tension in the back, neck and shoulders, which are areas where most people hold a lot of their stress.
Avatar m tn I didn't do yoga but know that there are classes and videos directed at the pregnant woman to do it. I walked a lot and lifted light weights when pregnant.
Avatar f tn Hello ladies, I remember some of you saying that you conceived right after practising fertility yoga, and my question is do one stop doing fertility yoga after iui or should i continue till a positive result of one cycle,,,
Avatar f tn Dr. Vinod - I had a repair of 3 hernia up and to the right of my belly button. Two are incisional hernias (I had an open surgery last year to remove about a foot of necrotic colon), one is apparently a spot where muscle never properly closed up. I have two meshes - one over the open muscle area and a larger mesh basically across my whole abdomen. I have been advised of no exercise at all for 3 months. I would like to get back to doing yoga eventually.
Avatar f tn What I am trying to find out is assuming that I have an arterial graft to repair, will I be able to resume running, bicycling, strength training, yoga, and other exercise activities in which I normally participate. Can I continue until I have surgery, or should I put all this on hold for now. How long is it normally before such activities can be resumed, if they can be resumed. I was training for a spring marathon. Is this out of the question?
Avatar n tn ve experienced going into practice have been relieved by the asanas... including headaches. Of course, I do almost all traditions of yoga, so I'm aware of how my body feels and can tailor what I'm doing accordingly. This comes with practice and body awareness which any beginner will grow into. Long story short, I do believe that doc was naive and I would not listen to that person. Sorry to criticize him/her.
Avatar m tn MRI looked good to radiologist. MdDS was another possibility but I did not go.... Instead I embraced yoga asanas in earnest and a low carb, high fat diet. Lost 12 pounds in the last 5 months, symptoms improved. I will continue to do long series of yoga asanas every day and emphasize a good diet instead of hitting dead ends with doctors.... Also check your A1C levels, most doctors won't even order this test if you look "normal" to them.
Avatar n tn If you are overweight then you should do mosttly forward bending asanas. Also you can do the pranayamas(breathing exercies) that involve more exhalation exercises like : "kapalbhati pranayama" . You can take a hot water bath. If you are underweight and malnourished then you should do backward bending asanas : (eg: bhujangasana, ushtrasana). And pranayama that involves internal retention of breath : antar kumbhaka/sitali. You can take a cold water bath.
Avatar m tn I also do yoga asanas daily as well as meditation, very earnestly, like a drowning man holds onto a straw. Despite the great progress I've made with yoga postures, vitamin/mineral supplementation, diet, etc. symptoms are not fully gone. On the way home from the office I tend to feel unsteady again (morning commute is better), after having been exposed to computer screens for 8+ hours. I dare not look at my phone lest dizziness gets worse.

Avatar f tn It is good that you are doing pranayam or yoga and taking care of your health. If the dose is adequate and tests are normal, you need not worry much about thyroid problem. However you have to take test regularly. Some issues continue in spite of normal thyroid. I did Agnisar kriya for 30 years and I constipation free. But now since 5 years I do have the constipation off and on. Gas, Acidity, are also there. I do many exercises for stomach, stomach self massage also.
Avatar n tn Yoga does wonders for my fibromyalgia pain!
230948 tn?1235844329 I have heard of people having hip bursitis with your type of pain, or even pain from sciatica can cause hip pain, which I have, but typically, in order to be diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, you need to have pain in at least 11 of the 18 tender point identified by Rheumatologist for diagnostic purposes. Have you been seen by a Rheumatologist? They would be the doctor best fit to diagnose Fibromyalgia. I have posted a link here from our website (MedHelp) of the common symptoms of Fibromyalgia.

Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia in 2011, one of my worst symptoms was upper back pain, right in between my shoulder blades. Not even massages helped. In my experience, it was due to tension. I realized that my shoulders were often scrunched up. Even though it was hard to do at first because I was so tense, yoga helped immensely. Google 'yoga poses for back pain' and there's a lot of good videos that can help.
