1325122 tn?1277837798 My Doctors have been unable to find a cause...or a cure...for my Vertigo. I have been plagued with this condition for over one year and am unable to work as a Cosmetologist. I need Medical help. The various traditional medications prescribed for Vertigo have not been successful for me. An MRI showed 'white spots' on the brain but the Neurologist dismissed that as a cause....also middle ear problems have been ruled out.
209591 tn?1267418314 I have been diagnosed with about 19 other conditions including Lyme Disease and Fibromyalgia. He stated it was Vertigo, but was unsure of what could be causing it. I have had blood work, so it is not viral. About three and a half weeks ago, My Rheumatologist had just doubled my Lamictal. He was also hoping that this was a possible cause, but since stopping that Therapy, the symptoms are still persistent. How long does Vertigo normally last, and is hospitalization and IV therapy effective?
2015596 tn?1329217952 I have a history in vertigo comes and goes, recently episode I had the dizziness and falling spell, which did number on me with bruises and bumps. This went on for a good two weeks. I went to the emergency room twice, the first time they hooked me up with a IV salt water and Valium. The doctor told me that he was going to try this and if it doesn't help then there's nothing he can do.

Avatar n tn Thank you for your comments, doctors are now looking at other possibilities for my condition including fibromyalgia and cervical vertigo. I do agree with your comments.
1943833 tn?1349280189 I have wondered often over the last few years if I have Fibromyalgia, but have never asked a doctor about it because I don't seem to have the tender points. I'm wondering how many of these symptoms are "common" for fibromyalgia. Or maybe CFS? -occasional severe sensitivity to noise. I can be sitting in a room, with people around me and noises I would normally not mind (kids playing, etc) will "hurt". I don't really have a headache, and it's not an actual pain.
Avatar n tn room spinning vertigo again. I am told this sounds like benign positional vertigo but i have no nystagmus and I am slightly dizzy ALL THE TIME. this thing has been very depressing and worrisome. does anyone relate?
Avatar f tn Is there an effective way to treat acne for those with fibromyalgia? My dermatologists have tried quite the variety of treatments for the acne with no success. The acne isn't cystic, but a bit more problematic than mild acne. Also, a sulfa allergy limits that option for treatment. Current regimen includes Azelex (for redness and inflammation) and Tretinoin. I'm curious if there is an effective treatment that takes the fibromyalgia into consideration.
Avatar f tn I have been treated for fibromyalgia for over a year now. The dr. never really stated I have fibro. I'm being treated for high cholesterol and trigylcerides. I'm taking welchol powder once a day and trilipex for this. I'm taking lyrica 150mg. bid and mirapex at bedtime. I went to get a lab slip yesterday for blood work and was informed i needed to be fasting for my cholesterol and trigy. levels.I have never been told this before. When I first started with this dr.
Avatar n tn hearing tested, both came back fine. I do have fibromyalgia and suffer with many of the problems that go along with that. I also feel as though I have things crawling on me, but there is nothing there. My feet fall asleep even when I am walking and I often have a twitching in my right eyelid. I am very tired in the evening and often fall asleep before dinner. I have even been having some trouble with tightness in my chest. I have given you all the information I can think of right now.
1534024 tn?1294249675 I also have consistent on and off fatigue, headaches, and vertigo consistently. Also, if I get sick I feel like 10x more bad than I should. Like if I get a cold...I feel as if I have the flu and if I get the flu I feel like i'm dying.
Avatar m tn -Had good days and bad days -Weird kind of dizziness (not quite vertigo). Feels like there's a rubber band pressuring the sides of me head.
5466288 tn?1410488785 Starting with my mom,and then me and my sisters--all have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia without Drs really looking into what's going on with us Number 3:Actually I had more than just dizziness or what was diagnosed as vertigo. My blood pressure had shot up sky high for no reason.Just 2 wks before when I saw my Dr it was very good.Other problems that I've been having for awhile are blurred vision, sleep apnea and bladder problems.
3184083 tn?1347405743 central vertigo which has to do with my cerebellum (Chiari) and peripheral vertigo (bppv; which has to do with my ear), and treating one without treating the other would leave me continuing to have symptoms and lose hope! (Which is so true.) He's referred me back to an ENT for the appropriate tests. (In fact, they've already called, and I see an ENT on Tuesday.) I really feel blessed. I've been praying for my "team of doctors" that Kaiser promises and this is an answer to prayer.
Avatar n tn First I was dizzy, then aggitated, then couldn't sleep, then aversions to exercise (muscles slightly tremor - notice at night), then migraines and positional vertigo during heat (summer) and exercise, then heart tightness/intense beating, blood pressure all over the place...lowering synthroid to 150 mcg every day....then muscle pains, cramps, twitching, brain jumping from 1 thing to another...no focus....
Avatar f tn I also have bi-lateral meniere's which causes me severe vertigo, ear fullness and pain. Does anyone have any suggestions. I am on some drugs but I don't see that they are helping one bit. I also have a very low blood count - take iron - but I am not enemic. My weight is 118 pounds - I am 5'3. I used to be able to run on my treadmill for an hour - now I can't even get to the workout room without feeling like I've worked out ALREADY. I am so desperate.
Avatar n tn I'll start from the beginning. I've suffered Insomnia for at least 10 years and have been on either Ambien or Ambien CR ever since. Some nights it works...others not so much. I'll also throw in that I've had a moderate bilateral hand tremor as long as I can remember and no doctor has ever given me a reason for it. OK, moving on. I also developed Migraines about 10 years ago and the solution was to try a parade of instant remedies (Imitrex, Relpax, etd.) of which NONE worked.
420469 tn?1217650963 suggested I go to a neuro to rule out MS or fibromyalgia. And here I am on this forum. Thanks vertigo~!
209591 tn?1267418314 When she called back, she told me to either go straight to the ER or come there. I was told that I was suffering from Vertigo. Unfortunately he has done no testing, just continued to take me off of medication the last few months, which has not helped. My Rheumatologist last month looked in my ear and noticed that my eardrum was swollen remarkably on the right side so decided to send me to my ENT.
Avatar n tn I have Fibromyalgia, MPS, and Migraines 2 days ago we took a deep sea fishing trip now I have such bad vertigo the I am staggering around like I'm drunk . Is this a common reaction? I already have vertigo but nothing like this.
Avatar n tn No one can tell you whether you have fibromyalgia, via the Internet. Generally a diagnosis of fibromyalgia requires your doctor to run extensive tests to rule out other possible causes for the symptoms you are having.
1364792 tn?1278054787 When this happened, a whole bunch of physical problems appeared out of nowhere! I suddenly got really dizzy and clumsy. Not vertigo - just feeling like I couldn't trust my feet; like I might reach for a bottle of hot sauce at dinner and end up up-ending the table; and sometimes, especially after I'd just woken up, I worried that I'd actually collapse. My sleep, btw, got totally messed up...

Avatar f tn My most recent neurologist wrote me off in 5 mintues as probably having Fibromyalgia or CFS, which I could agree with if it weren't for the severe muscle weakness in my arms and hands. Does anyone here with Fibromyalgia/CFS have debilitating muscle weakness? I guess I just didn't think that was one of the characteristics. I would definitely appreciate any comments from others with similar experiences!

230948 tn?1235847929 Hi All, I'm just having such a bad time at mo, i've had two weeks of solid vertigo and last night was the worst i rang my husband who i am separated from to come over and put kids to bed and stay with me cause i thought i was losing it every bang every noise was going through my whole body!
Avatar f tn I think neck injuries can cause vertigo. If my neck hurts or if I put pressure on it, I get migraines and vertigo. The sleep issue became a habit, I couldn't sleep because I was distracted by noise. A week later there was no noise but I got addicted to benadryl and other things to make me sleepy. Then I began to panic and so forth. Try to get a MRI of your cervical spine and if necessary get therapy. I also apply heat on my neck when it hurts and it helps. Good luck and keep in touch.
Avatar n tn Over a year ago was in a car accident and my muscles and joints hurt so bad most of the time its hard to have a normal day. Its not arthritis or lupus and Dr's are now saying fibromyalgia..I also have extreme burning in my joints and neck is this also a symptom of fibromyalgia?
