Avatar f tn Okay, so my doc failed the biggest thing, in my eyes, when it came to concluding that I have fibromyalgia. He said there is no test for it, you just have to rule out other stuff. THERE IS A TEST!!! It's called having 11 out of 18 tender points. He didn't do that! He didn't even see if I had that. So, how does he know? I'm not a doctor, but I did research, a lot of it.
Avatar f tn A nurse practisioner I am sure is fine, but it sounds more complicated than FMS or at least a very severe case of FMS. FMS is diagnosed as well by a set of tender points and ruling out other potential causes. They basically press on certain areas of the body that don't normally cause pain in people and they cause pain in people with FMS. They also do a fuller history to rule out other diseases such as MS which can have some similarities to FMS.
