fibromyalgia

1376367 tn?1319230027 I have been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and 5 weeks ago had a complete hysterectomy because I had a large cyst on my left ovary. Over the last year and a half I have less energy and more pain. The surgery I had was directly related to having bacteria in the body and causing the cyst and pain and fatigue along with a host of other symptoms. I asked my doctor to try doxycyline for a trial on the Fibro as I am going to the Fibro and Fatigue Center in Seattle, Wa. Feb. 22, 2011.
Avatar n tn In 2007 I was finally diagnosed with fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, hashimoto's, IBS, and dormant ebstein-barr and HHV-6. I still struggle with symptoms, random infections, and overall have a difficult time leading a normal life. I have recently read that the standard tests for Lymes are often not sensitive enough to discover the disease, and wonder if I am not really suffering from chronic Lyme.

Avatar n tn Thank you. The reason this issue has become confusing is because there are published studies (NID/CDC only studied full replacement steroids), treating subclinical hormone deficiencies, in disorders such as CFS and FMS, where their findings state that there is already a blunted HPA axis.
Avatar n tn Gas accumulates and along with IBS, there can be acidity and reflux. Pinched nerves, low Vit D, fibromyalgia, low Vit B12 (commonly seen in IBS) can further aggravate existing conditions. You need to consult an endocrine specialist and a gastroenterologist and find a balanced treatment to keep all problems at bay. At present the IBS and gastric reflux could be the most aggravated. Special diet precaution needs to be taken along with omeprazole and antacids for reflux. Take care!
Avatar n tn I have gone to a Fibromyalgia and Fatigue center and am having such a hard time getting back because it is a 4 hr. drive both ways. The supplements and IV nutrition they gave me made me fel like a million bucks but I am supposed to get these every week and haven't managed to figure this out. The doctor told me there is another alternative which are doing shots 3x a week. Has anyone done these and do they help?

Avatar n tn I also have Arthritis and Fibromyalgia, degenerative disc disease in my neck and lower LOW back, right by my tail bone. I HURT and none of these idiot doctors are doing anything. They treat me like I'm just being dramatic. I"m only 33 and I feel like I am going on 63. I have a 2, almost 3 yr old and a 6 yr old. I can barely keep up with THEM. I hate this state, BAD. But I have no choice cause my husband is in the navy, so I"m stuck here. All I do is cry anymore..
1627868 tn?1333889942 I would read up all about fibromyalgia and start some treatment for it i.e. homiopathy and see if it helps. Lyrica is great for fibromyalgia, because it also helps the IBS that comes with it. Fibro does affect the nuro system ..... basically it is thought that the signals get stuck on high and that is why there is a lot of sensory problems similar to MS. Dont give up. Big hugs.
Avatar n tn Doctors could only tell me they suspect fibromyalgia. I thought this diagnosis was lame and went searching for answers. I finally ended up at a lyme disease specialist and got diagnosed with lyme disease. I had 4 tests for lyme taken prior to seeing this lyme doctor and they always came up negative. He tested me through a lab that specializes in lyme detection. This lab check all the markers for lyme, which are 16.
1554647 tn?1316830820 S for treatment. Currently I am being treated for fibromyalgia and I see the doctor on Tuesday for a physical. I am going to ask about being tested through IGNEX for Lyme as the previous doctor said that it was too early being on this treatment plan to be tested. I need some help with what is going on here as it's costing me a small fortune and still don't know if I'm getting the right treatment for what I have.
Avatar n tn Hello, I had a high calcium blood level done in the U.S. I am from Canada and going to Seattle to a clinic for Fibromyalgia. Avatar n tn I finished 24 weeks in seattle Oct 18> My experience at the VA was so positive, I posed this question as I had not experienced this good of service in the private sector. I had heard whining and compalining about VA care in the news, etc but I did not really see it . Lab wait 10-15 mins, rx wait 20-30 mins. If I heard another vet complaining about another long line, waaaah, waaah, I just asked "aren't you glad they're here?
Avatar n tn I met with a new pain doctor today, who told me my problem was due to my Fibromyalgia and that narcotics won’t control my type of pain (although they currently are controlling it!). He wants me to end my current medications and start taking Lyrica and Cymbalta, instead. I really, really don’t want to be on those medications due to the long-term issues and side effects.
Avatar m tn headache are ALL common in patients who have CFS (what I have) and the burning sensations are common in patients who have fibromyalgia. The lump in your neck needs to be elevated. If it is a lymph node... consider having a biopsy done on it. IMO... you have a successive infection and you certainly could have CFS and/or fibromyalgia. It is very important to get treated right away (that is what the CFS/fibro experts are saying).
1353650 tn?1429466974 Donjoe341 is absolutely right. I too have these other co-infections that my doctor first of all cannot discover. I have had a fungal infection for over 2 years and tested twice and both times they came back negative. I went to see a naturopath for help with allergies and she tested me and sure enough I have a fungal infection. They even gave me the name of the particular fungal. It is called Scopulariopsis and I haven't had it treated yet.
1627868 tn?1333889942 I am thankful you are being treated appropriately with this new doctor and able to move forward with treatment and therapy for improvement. Silly question - when did you start having flares? When did all this start?
Avatar n tn Furthermore, I continued to be treated for a shoulder ailment which included in treatment, shots and phys.-therapy as well as a more targeted injection with the assistance of radiography. I went to my regular clinic and was referred by my neurosurgeon to the head of neurology at a leading Medical Center in Seattle. The head neurologist performed additional tests on my arms, hands, feet and legs where a diagnosis of "idiopathic poly-neuropathy" was made following the tests.
Avatar m tn ) but it seems to be the best treatment option. I still keep a very rigorous work schedule but face arsenal of issues win chiari. So my question is if you haven't had surgery what is your reasoning for not (I.e. doc said no, personal opinion). And my second question is what do you do to cope? I actually work out quite vigorously and have been told by my chiari expert surgeon to do whatever helps me feel better as there is no data for Not exercising and chiari.
1719886 tn?1311617631 Hmmm. well I was taken via ambulance from my neuro appt last Thursday to the ER for treatment (LP and Vicodin ha!) a rx for Imitrex, then discharged. Avatar f tn I got pulled off my treatment at week 20 so I know how you feel. My bloodwork tanked so they took me off until the results of today's come back. They will be fine, I'm sure of it, I feel too good. I am in a study for a second generation protease inhibitor. I cleared within 2 weeks of starting the study drug. Unfortunately, I had already done 16 weeks of SOC with results similar to yours. I got in a full month of the study drug and am still clear as of two weeks ago.
Avatar m tn Hi Selma, Had xray and MRI after MVA. That's when I went to the Chiiari clinic. I've been diagnosed with fibromyalgia and have lupus markers. I still have one cerebral tonsil that is minimal and a small pineal cyst that I was told was not an issue. I don't have inner ear issues. Had extensive testing done at U of U hospital. Not sure what other conditions?
Avatar n tn My family doctor has diagnosed me in the last year as having arthritis and fibromyalgia to add to all this. I am on celebrex and trazadone daily, codeine for moderate pain and dilaudid for the bad pain. I'm not keen on all the drugs he's given me, but I don't know what else to do. I desperately want to get to the bottom of this, my family has offered money and suggests I go to the States for a second opinion. I don't know where to go, who to ask for, what's involved, ....
