1075109 tn?1281835691 There is absolutely no data on how well homeopathy works for anything. That's not to say there isn't any research on homeopathy, there is in other countries, especially lately France, but anything that lacks patentability has very little money for the kind of research that would determine in double blind studies how well any natural remedy. Quite frankly, the data on medication is quite deficient, using very small samples and very short term experiments.
Avatar m tn Don't know if 5-HTP will help your GAD. It's the metabolite of tryptophan the body uses to manufacture serotonin. So when it works it works as an ssri does, but through a different mechanism. ssris are stronger in theory, but make the body use old serotonin longer, causing side effects. 5-HTP is the body's natural way of making serotonin, but serotonin might not be the answer to GAD. Everyone's different.
Avatar n tn Im going to begin treatment in about a month and I am wondering what herbs and vitamins people have used while ON treatment? And thoughts on do you think they helped you either feel better and possibly clear faster....etc.. Any of your thoughts would be appreciated. Is there a list of herbs to take somewhere on this forum?
Avatar m tn Things will get worse, I was misdiagnosed for 18 years. Some people take just herbs for treatment. I am not sure how well that works because I haven't done just herbs and everyone is different. I refuse to take narcotics for pain. I take tramadol/ultram. In addition to that you need something to attack the bugs bacteria. If you want more information, send me a PM and I can give you more info on the LLMD who provides you with only herbs and can consult with you on the phone.

Avatar m tn I spent some time at the mayo clinic seeing various specialists and was diagnosed with fibromyalgia basically because they just couldn’t find anything wrong with me so I struggle with accepting the diagnosis. All tests and bloodwork seem to come back normal except a moderately elevated anti-histone and slightly elevated liver enzymes. My testosterone is near the very bottom of the normal range which I feel is unusual for someone my age.

Avatar f tn Hello I am going to begin taking herbs **** Quai Red Rasberry Chasteberry Wild yam the site says they help with fertility and menstrual discomfort Has anyone taken herbs with any benefit or have any other information you can share
Avatar f tn Just google Gufinisen used with fibromyalgia. There is a doctor Armond (sp?) that has come up with this treatment. It has helped some. I didn't go on the illimination diet though. I take so many herbs for other things and leaves are something that is illiminated. Praying for you. Oh, p.s. Don't know if you are trying to do the excercises recommended, but they really do help with the muscle tightness. Just don't overdo.
Avatar f tn i have been through the ringer with herbs for my anxiety, as your anxiety is mild herbs would be a perfect combination for you. i use ashwagandha and brahmi, these are great auyervedic herbs for anxiety and depression.the ashwagandha definitely needs to be used the brhami though to feel the full effect, and give it at least 2-3 weeks before you feel a difference. i didnt like valerian or passionflower but they may work for you, everyone is different.
1130715 tn?1262100430 You have to understand that they will not cure your hepititis. Before I started the standard treatment, I tried the herbs and they made my liver enzymes skyrocket off the chart. That was not good. I've never heard of the formula that you're taking. I believe Milk Thistle is fine. If you decide to start interferon treatment, you shouldn't take anything at all (that's what was advised by my doctor when I started the interferon).

377521 tn?1203473172 silymarin was one of the herbs I used which slowed the damage down a bit for me. I took another year than advised to spend with my daughter before starting tx when my liver was quite badly scarred didn't grow any worse that year but didn't cure me either .
Avatar f tn I have learned that these herbs really help me the tumors in my lungs disappeared. Can anyone else share a natural healing herb and support.
Avatar m tn I had only once tested my hbsag quantity since my diagnosis two years ago. The test was done a few weeks ago and came out about 17000iu/ml. In other words quite high, that should warrant treatment immediately, in my opinion, though my dumb doctors won't put me on treatment yet. But I'm going to fight them and insist that I need antiviral treatment.
Avatar m tn I have been told for 3 years I have Fibromyalgia along with osteoarthritis in many areas; osteoporosis (I have lost 2 and l/2 inches in 3 years; fracture mode; every medicine I had been put on has been problems and I have been taken off all for Fibromyalgia, osteoporosis, and arthritis. Now, my right eye is getting fuzzy, not every day, but more days all the time. My doctor has said although I need back surgery, be careful doing that because it will possibly make your fibromyalgia worse.
Avatar n tn I also know that the wrong supplements and herbs can cause success to be delayed. I would check with your OB and see if the herbs are right for your specific case. It doesn't matter how great a deal if it won't help or could possibly delay your efforts. Best wishes and sending baby dust back your way!
Avatar m tn There are some other drugs that are still in trial that will cut treatment time down and give you better odds at clearing the virus. As far as herbs, I would rather use herbs myself because I do believe in herbs and supplements, but unfortunately, they cannot be counted on for getting a cure at this time - maybe someday if there is more research in that area - but not at this time.
Avatar n tn I need names of herbs take for my Thyroids troubles.. This discussion is related to Thyroid medication and swollen glands in neck..
Avatar f tn Hi My name is xuxu, I have been trying to conceive for a few years now, I have tried IVF and some other treatment but nothing seems to work. I came across an supplement called FertilAid have any one heard about it does it really work?
1674106 tn?1403379490 Hello. I am a 28 y/o female, with Fibromyalgia, Migraines, Endometriosis, Hidradenitis Suppurativa and a few other odds and ends. But I was recently diagnosed with Graves' Disease by an Endo, after 3 years of unexplained tachycardia, heat sensitivity and dilated pupils. In the past I have been borderline hypothyroidism and I'm a curvy woman, so I never would've guessed I was HYPERthyroidism. My head is metaphorically spinning these days.
Avatar m tn I have not heard of those herbs but I am also treating with herbs (along with the antibiotic) and have noticed the most improvement when on the herbs. However, I DO think antibiotics are needed at some point to get this thing under control.
