Avatar n tn I know you don't feel like it but keep pushing through, there has to be answer. Fibromyalgia is too common these days, I know there has to be a better treatment than Norco. One thing about drugs like Norco, they make depression WORSE! Yeah, you feel "normal" or "okay" while you take it but you feel worse when it wears off. What other medications are you taking? You sound like you are normally a very bright, ambitious person.
434278 tn?1324709825 I have an ANA titer of 1:640 (homgeneous pattern). Does Fibromyalgia generally go along with an ANA this elevated?

Avatar f tn After seeing a GP, internist, neurologist, and psychologist to no avail, I really want to believe that these herbs will be my answer. However, I'm also afraid that they're going to wind up making my condition worse rather than better. After taking them the first time, I felt very brain fogged (almost to the point of disorientation), off-balanced, and very sensitive to stimuli like bright lights and sounds. The 24/7 headache that I have also felt about 10 times worse.
1692704 tn?1307215380 Is using with me, they were surprised with such a lax treatment, yet they did say herbs work. I told them pulling back on treatment to spare symptoms is not my style. I want a combo of main stream medicine and assertive care, not waiting for herbs to work weeks/ months after symptoms are severe, as they are in me. Unfortunately I got an appt. in the fall but I'm on the waiting list. It may help I know his wife.
Avatar n tn Does anyone combine any herbals with the treatment such as milk thistle or drink any herbal teas? I was just wondering because my doctor said there is nothing that shows that it helps and also you have to be careful because some herbs can maybe hurt you more?

253566 tn?1219683299 Mine was normal both before and during treatment, but dropped and remained low normal for over a year post treatment. My symptons aren't as bad as yours, so haven't supplemented the testosterone, but you might consider at least trying it, even if you're in the low or perhaps even mid-normal range. You also mention your lab results are out of whack. What tests specifically aren't right?
233616 tn?1312790796 A guy has a heart attack at 45 because he took treatment. doesn't mean the treatment caused it. could have been his genetics and a million gut bombs..or that he was a prison subject, still it will go down in the list of possible side effevts. there's no way to prove a drug causes evert reaction. Not when they are only around for a few years anyway.Part of the bad rap for GH comes from all the misuse, athletic and hollywood, but docs won't prescribe megadoses for people to become the hulk.

Avatar m tn 5-HTP is the body's natural way of making serotonin, but serotonin might not be the answer to GAD. Everyone's different. The natural treatment for GAD would be to combine amino acids and herbs and vitamins and diet and exercise and relaxation techniques to see if the body's imbalance can be put back into balance. Same as the natural treatment for fibromyalgia, which is to strengthen the immune system, strengthen the body, strengthen the orans, etc. Hope it works well for you.
1130715 tn?1262104030 You have to understand that they will not cure your hepititis. Before I started the standard treatment, I tried the herbs and they made my liver enzymes skyrocket off the chart. That was not good. I've never heard of the formula that you're taking. I believe Milk Thistle is fine. If you decide to start interferon treatment, you shouldn't take anything at all (that's what was advised by my doctor when I started the interferon). I do believe acupuncture helps you to feel better.
Avatar f tn Has anyone tried natural progesterone cream for treatment of fibromyalgia?? I was diagnosed with fibro. a year ago and my symptoms have gotten worse and worse since then. I sought the care of a certified natural healthcare practitioner for fibro. after no luck with my rheumatologist and was then diagnosed with a severe progesterone deficiency. My natural healthcare practitioner said fibro. is linked to or even caused by a progesterone deficiency. I was having all the symptoms of fibro.
Avatar f tn Just google Gufinisen used with fibromyalgia. There is a doctor Armond (sp?) that has come up with this treatment. It has helped some. I didn't go on the illimination diet though. I take so many herbs for other things and leaves are something that is illiminated. Praying for you. Oh, p.s. Don't know if you are trying to do the excercises recommended, but they really do help with the muscle tightness. Just don't overdo.

1075109 tn?1281839291 Again, best of luck in your search. Also, I should add that much of the natural treatment of fibromyalgia isn't remedy based, it's more nutrition and exercise and lifestyle based. They use elimination diets and such to try to elevate energy as much as possible, keep the liver clean, which you can't do as long as you're on medication, keep the colon clean, and keep the body as uninflamed as possible.
Avatar m tn Things will get worse, I was misdiagnosed for 18 years. Some people take just herbs for treatment. I am not sure how well that works because I haven't done just herbs and everyone is different. I refuse to take narcotics for pain. I take tramadol/ultram. In addition to that you need something to attack the bugs bacteria. If you want more information, send me a PM and I can give you more info on the LLMD who provides you with only herbs and can consult with you on the phone.
Avatar f tn I'm sure this is why Prince Charles and the Queen of England both swear by homeopathic treatment. Anyhow, here is a great article on homeopathy that was published in the Annals of Internal Medicine: A Critical Overview of Homeopathy http://www.annals.

Avatar m tn Investigators at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia enrolled 100 people, mostly women (average age 52) with longstanding fibromyalgia and assigned half of them to a treatment group and half to a waiting list. Those in the treatment group participated in a three-day workshop to learn seven specific movements and exercises that are said to emphasize relaxation, release and distribution of "qi" (energy) throughout the body.
Avatar f tn I went to a Muscul/Skeletal center, there I was diagnosed with reheumatoid arthritis, He also did other test and said I tested positive for Lupus , but because of the lack of other systems he didn't think I had that , also mild back flow of left heart valve. Treatment was a shot of cortisone in each hip and priscribed Meloxicam 1 day for 6 weeks this all helped a great deal.
Avatar f tn relating to illness caused by medical examination or treatment. Having said this, you have to be absolutely sure that your thyroid function is not under-regulated or over-regulated. It happens to more thyroid patients than not! What are you taking for that and how much and when? Did you know that your basal temperature is a good indicator of your thyroid function, regardless of Labs? Most standard thyroid tests are flawed! Do you perhaps have any recent test results?
Avatar f tn Now my question is, what do I have to expect with this type of treatment? What happens if I am not ovulating? How much does this type of treatment typically cost? How many cycles of CLOMID are normal to take, before the doctor can decided on another form of treatment? Please help me, it really hurts when I can not be happy for friends and family when they have babies.
