Avatar n tn I am curious if what I tell you fits the profile for Fibromyalgia. The lack of fatigue and major sleep issues makes me feel like I may be experiencing something else.

209591 tn?1267418314 Just getting out of bed sometimes is almost impossible...For you all what has been the most helpful treatment (exercise, therapy or medication) for your fatigue? All of my medicines cause fatigue and so do all 8 to 10 diagnoses I currently have...Thanks so much for your help.
2126606 tn?1346348724 Over the past few years we’ve seen an increased number of fibromyalgia patients that have started receiving prescriptions for painkillers to address their chronic pain symptoms. As a Registered Addiction Specialist, this is extremely concerning to me especially at a time when we are also seeing prescription painkiller use exploding nationwide. Fibromyalgia is a musculoskeletal condition that is marked by widespread aching and pain in the muscles and joints.
Avatar n tn See, there are supposed to be 18 points on your body the doctor has to press for soreness in order to conclusively diagnose for Fibromyalgia. If you test positive for something like 10 to 14 points, then the chances you have Fibromyalgia are quite high. However, you must take other tests to rule out Lupus, MS and Lyme Disease. I cannot urg you enough to get the proper diagnosis as Fibromyalgia can be just as dibilitating as MS and the other diseases mentioned above.
10059661 tn?1407568770 Excerpt from Medscape: Aerobic Exercise 'Most Effective Weapon' for Fibromyalgia "There is no magic drug against fibromyalgia and, in my opinion, there will never be. Psychotherapists don't work miracles, but psychotherapy can help and, in a few cases, turn people with fibromyalgia into nonpatients. Drugs may help, but patients don't like them," said investigator Winfried Häuser, MD, from Technische Universität München in Germany, who has published widely on fibromyalgia.
Avatar n tn I have alreasy gone thru treatment with interfuron for a year no help, now I have cronic fatigue plus all the pain of fibro, and the sides of hep c. Is there anyone out there I can talk to that understands what I am going thru? I can't get my husband to understand just because you can't see it it doesn't mean I don't hurt like hell. My life seems to have been put into a suspended form of torture.
748543 tn?1463449675 For the past few weeks I have been throwing around ideas as to the best way to respond to this matter. You see a recent article ( Feb.3 , 2009 NY times) titled "Best treatment for TMJ May be Nothing" nearly made me clench my jaw to pieces. While well written, I found that the author, Ms. Brody, relied heavily on out dated and narrow perspective supplied to her by a small group of dentists.
Avatar f tn have gone through treatment for Hep C, and as a result have noticed feeling fewer fibromyalgia symptoms? I have been feeling so tired for the last four years. I am wondering and hoping that maybe the fibro will go away if I can get treatment. thanks for your replies.....
Avatar f tn She told him, it was like him having the flu and the symptoms can come on and hang on for months because of the immune system being out of wack. The Fibromyalgia Network has many journals/issues that focus on the family and helping them understand the illness, meds needed and the difficulties we face. Don't complicate you suffering by allowing guilt to cloud how you take care of yourself. No one else is walking in your shoes, how can they tell you how to confront your pain.
Avatar f tn It's arthritis for some or even many. It's usually thyroid issues in addition to Fibromyalgia, so there is the cross issues there, so many are on both of those forums. But, it's all the other autoimmune issues as well. When you think about it here, this all makes a lot of sense. The one thing that is a really common issue for all of these health issues is that people find that they can't eat gluten.
358304 tn?1409713092 He then though I COULD have a bladder infection (which is rare in men) and he put me on antibiotics for 2 weeks. IT DID NOTHING FOR ME. I was in AGONY. Could not even sleep at night. After calling him and going back to him he was STUMPED. He said "does your lower back happen to be hurting? I said, YES!!! I keep stretching it." I didnt noticed the back pain before, because the bladder pain was over-powering the back pain.
Avatar m tn Firstly - I am posting this question on this forum because it has to do with complications dating a girl with Fibromyalgia and possible mental disorders both related to and not related to her condition. For the past 2 ½ months I have been dating a girl with severe fibromyalgia and chronic pain. The 1st month was very good – our relationship clicked – we got along well, had similar interests, always loved to talk to each other, and the sex was phenomenal.

173930 tn?1196341998 8 mil); For the most part, I felt fine pre-treating. Felt fairly well for first 3 to 4 weeks into treatment, but then it was a gradual downhill slide, with emotions flaring up all the time, which definitely didn't help. I am now 7 weeks post Interferon free, and 6 weeks free of Riba. I have to say I feel "so good", and better each day. Perhaps that is because I felt like $%!@ while treating, and I will never take feeling good for granted again.
Avatar m tn Here's my process: When I was first diagnosed there was no treatment for a Geno 3 with normal liver functions in the country in which I live. That was about 20 years ago. So I ignored the fact (denial) that I had a disease and went about life as normal. I was largely asymptomatic (I thought).
Avatar n tn Hi, My gastroenterologist has prescibed me Sulpiryd for anismus. He wrote a PGD on anismus, so he must know a lot about this condition. I have been taking it for 3 weeks so far and I noticed a small amendment. Sulpiryd is a medcine for schizophrenia, depression, neurosis and psychosomatic ailments.Maybe it will work better for you.
Avatar f tn I went to a support group offered by this same hospital after I found out I had Fibromyalgia in April 2008. I don't think support groups are for me. There was so much whining going on that I came away more down hearted than when I walked through the doors. Most of them were not willing to exercise and stretch which is key to that disease. I wanted to learn about what I could do to help myself and they talked over the social worker who was trying to lead the meeting.
Avatar f tn Well I'm on a research protocol that involves antibiotics... its called the Marshall Protocol and my Endocrinologist prescribed it for me for CFS. There are success stories posted on their website from patients' who have FM/CFS. The drugs they use on the protocol are not research medications. You may want to google, "mycoplasma" + "Dr.
Avatar n tn and how will the treatment go since if I do have it...I have had it for so long? Thanks Again for your persistance Steve! I certainly appreciate it.
5581828 tn?1379815092 Hello, There is no particular treatment for fibromyalgia. For fibromyalgia get prescribed antidepressants and muscle relaxants apart from the pain killers. Antipsychotic medicines are also sometimes used to treat conditions that cause chronic (long-term) pain, such as fibromyalgia. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor.
674737 tn?1226543484 Hi I have been sick for 21/2 years and have seen 7 neurologists and no one can tell me what is wrong. A year before i got sick I had never had a headache or any health problems. Had Mri(normal) saw Ent said even though mri and ct was normal that to open my sinus cavites may help. He found an air level pressure in my sphenoid sinus.
Avatar n tn When I first got sick 2 years ago, after ruling out other bad diseases (but not testing me for Hep C) I was referred to a Rheumatologist who dx me with Fibromyalgia. I was then referred to a respectable Mind/Body Institute which is part of a large hospital system that specializes in assisting patients with chronic illnesses when the doctors are limited in what they can do.
Avatar n tn It is possbile to have viral menningitis. There is no treatment except for pain medication and letting the virus run it's course taking aproximatley 8-12 weeks. It would be a good idea to give your doctor a call just to make sure it isn't a bacterial type. My friend only had what she described as the worst headache of her life and it lasted exactly 10 weeks during her bout with vm. Good Luck.
Avatar m tn Additionally, we treat people for age-related hormone deficiencies. We also provide hormone-related weight loss options for our patients, as well. WHY DO WE PROVIDE THESE SERVICES? We provide hormone related treatments for people to reduce their risk of adverse medical events, such as heart attacks, dementia, and broken bones. All of these treatments are shown in the scientific literature to be effective for these treatments.

These physicians also keep up-to-date on the latest research for both fibro and CFS. Here's the link if you are interested : http://www.medhelp.org/health_pages/list?
1312898 tn?1314571733 As far as the story, I'm sorry I am too tired for that tonight. On a day with more energy I will write it for you!
Avatar m tn Men can also get UTIs and it can cause brain fog, back pain, fatigue and so on, but the symptoms in men are harder to notice. I am hoping that when I begin treatment for the Hashimoto's that the GERD may resolve as that can affect your digestive system as well since there are hormones involved in digestion.
