It is a Rheumatologist who you must see for a fibromyalgia diagnosis and if positive,consequent treatment follows, prescribed normally by the Rheumatologist.
There is no effective standard medical treatment for fibromyalgia other than symptom management, by the way.
The suspected side-effects of the acupuncture cannot be attributed to the
treatment itself, as it cannot be verified.
Those " strange" side effects could be easily caused by stress alone.
I've been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. I've tried all of the meds they are currently prescribing for this. Has anyone tried alternative treatment for this? If so, did it work for you?
After the endoscopy we were given the diagnosis of chronic fatigue / fibromyalgia . Having been initially relieved that we finally had a diagnosis we are now starting to think differently. Once you have been tarred with this brush it would appear the doctors are not interested. My concern is how quickly this diagnosis has been made. I've read people can wait years before getting this confirmed as tests for all other conditions are looked into.

There are several things that have helped me. For one thing I try really hard to get a good nights sleep w/o disturbance. I take some supplements that help...5HTP and Melatonin. Both are natural supstances found at the vitamin area at Wal-Mart. My rhematologist sent me to a physical therapist who showed me some exercises. They also did ultrasound and tens unit therapy. But the exercises have really helped. Another tip is, don't overdo. Know when to stop.
Wondering if fibromyalgia may be a consideration. It seems to be a diagnosis that keeps popping up as a post treatment illness and worth discussing with you doctor.
I am curious if what I tell you fits the profile for Fibromyalgia. The lack of fatigue and major sleep issues makes me feel like I may be experiencing something else.

Also, do you mean treatment for the virus in general or help with treatment while one is takes the medication to treat the virus? Researched, contacted Dr Jacob Tietelbaum, President of the Fibromyalgia Chronic Fatigue Institute, in Maryland. I am currently working with him/staff. Generally speaking, OI (orthostatic intolerance) is more closely associated with Chronic Fatigue/ME than Fibromyalgia. Hypothetically speaking, I would rate it as unlikely that one would get relief from fibro through treating OI, and here's my reasoning:
