Avatar f tn I have been dealing with extremely notable symptoms since 4/09. After much blood work, many hospital visits and an abnormal MRI, my neurologist told me I have Fibromyalgia. He then sent me to a rheumatologist who was COMPLETELY against diagnosing someone with Fibromyalgia. He instantly took me off the nuerontin that I had only been on for one month. I then returned to my neuro advising him that my symptoms continued and some were worse.
512184 tn?1268787294 I think most of us have been through this. I also believe it is an easy way out for the doctors. You might want to consider further work-up regarding lyme disease. Bell's Palsy is classic for lyme disease. So are your other symptoms. PlateletGal, I completely agree with you. I see this happening a lot too. People list diseases they have been diagnosed with but still stay it's fibro. Fibro is a disease of exclusion, meaning all other diseases have been ruled out.

Avatar f tn The reason that I was wondering is I've always had the symptoms of fibromyalgia. But about 5 months ago I developed Chronic sinunitus. After about 2 months the sinunitus cleared up. To make sure of it I had my doctor run a CT scan and she said everything looks fine. But after the sinunitus cleared up I started having worse symptoms of fatigue, muscle aching, soarness, exaustion, and headaches. When I went back to doctors they started saying I was deppressed.
Avatar n tn I can only turn my head to the left so far and I am getting pain and it goes up behind my ear and into my head could this be coming from my fibromyalgia? I have never had it there before. Mostly elbows and knees and shoulder sometimes.
Avatar f tn Find a doctor that will work with you to ease the pain. Find one that believes fibromyalgia is real. It is easier in this day and age to do so. A few short years ago, not so much. My doctor (a few years back) looked at me like I had a mental condition when I told him my skin hurts. Finding a shower head that didn't feel like piercing needles was a task, but finally figured that out. It is hard to explain pain.

4856774 tn?1360095016 Any injury can worsen fibromyalgia, so yes, a car crash can be a real set back if you have fibromyalgia. However, aches and pains can also be the direct result of an injury from car crash. So, depending on your symptoms this aspect should be investigated. If your symptoms are due to worsening of fibromyalgia only, then the treatment is a mix and match of analgesics, anti depressants, anti seizure medications, physical therapy and counseling. Please discuss with your doctor. Take care!

Avatar f tn Endocrine system and metabolic disorders also could be at the root of your symptoms. I had symptoms I never connected for years, was misdiagnosed, made worse by the wrong treatments. After switching doctors, I learned that I have an endocrine system disorder. After starting treatment, I noticed that the other symptoms I had were gone. The next thing that I am going to look into for myself is Candida, as I tend to have many of the symptoms, and it can effect the endocrine system.
