Avatar f tn I've been struggling with health issues for a year now, that started off with a suspected duodenal ulcer. I was very ill with that, then my father was hospitalized with severe illness. This was quite a traumatic event for me, and since then I've had a lot of health issues.

Avatar n tn Chronic pain, Sleeplessness, Anxiety and Fatigue may be symptoms of Fibromyalgia or other conditions like Chronic Fatigue syndrome. There are many other conditions that mimic the symptoms of Fibromyalgia. Diagnosis of Fibromyalgia is based on the presence of tender points. These tender spots are particularly located in the neck, back, shoulders and hips. There are 18 points on body for tenderness in patients of this condition.

Avatar n tn I just turned 46 this year and my fibro type symptoms seem to have gotten worse. My right knee, both hips and my arm joints are completely stiff. I have a cracking popping nose in my joints. My concern is that now I am noticing that my feet and ankles are swollen. I do my best to elevate them, but I do sit at a desk for most of the day. I also live in a hot and humid climate.
1168938 tn?1327157832 E. ALSO my friend has fibromyalgia and she has all your symptoms lol. Mind you though she has tender points, do you have tender points if not it cant be FMS. Check out M.E. though because a lot of your symptoms match. (and MS actually).
1033336 tn?1252509731 The characteristic feature of Fibromyalgia is a muscle pain mostly in neck, back, thighs, and hips. There is presence of specific tender points in these areas that trigger the pain. Along with this there is morning stiffness in the muscles, brain fog, dizziness and other neurological symptoms. Since you are suffering from pain specifically located at the joints, and it started after the flu, the pains are related to the viral infection.
Avatar f tn The pain was everywhere upper back, legs, hips, upper arms and neck. It seems like this condition happens when I have not much pain and try to get everything I need to do in a couple days and then the next day I cannot move. On a good day if I sit for more than 20-30 minutes I stiffen up and takes a while to move again at all. My knees joints are very painful. My doctors has referred me to a rheumotolgist and suspects this could be my diagnosis.
Avatar f tn A cervical spine problems causes symptoms from the level of the problem down. The symptoms don't travel up so if you have tingling in your face and on your head it is something else. A spine issue can cause headaches though as the muscles can spasm in the neck and cause a headache. You may want to get tested for Lyme disease. It can cause most of your symptoms.

3202069 tn?1345408082 I have had fibromyalgia for about 8 yrs maybe longer. It is very hard to deal with. My legs bother me alot. I am on pain meds and eating certain foods make it worse. I go to an Integrative doctor Steve Windley. I would say that Diet and exercise help the most. Stretching is very important. My doctor told me that alot of Carbs cause the body to be inflamed. Avatar n tn (2nd posting sorry I posted in the wrong spot at first) I don't know if I have fibromyalgia so maybe you can all offer some advice. I am 36 year old female. About 8 weeks ago I noticed my left arm was difficult to drive with and it really struck me as beign strange. It felt heavy. I thought it felt weak but looking back 'heavy' is a more accurate term. I went to my dr. who sent me to a neuro. By the time I saw the neuro I was conviced that I had ALS. Convinced.
Avatar f tn I frequently experience lower back pain where it feels like I jarred by back and my hips hurt occassionaly. The most recent pain has been ongoing headaches. Some are debilitating, and sometimes I just have to deal with it and keep going, but the muscle on one side of my neck is sore as well. I've had these headaches for probably 2 months now.
709619 tn?1230165075 Do people with fibromyalgia experience attacks similar to MS that last for a week or so and then subside with more mild symptoms, or is it a chronic condition? And are the painful areas always sensitive to touch? I've been dealing with something that feels neurological in nature and I'm working with my neurologist on eliminating certain conditions. I have thus far eliminated two conditions that resemble the symptoms I've been dealing with i.e., ALS and B12 deficiency.
1943833 tn?1349280189 I have wondered often over the last few years if I have Fibromyalgia, but have never asked a doctor about it because I don't seem to have the tender points. I'm wondering how many of these symptoms are "common" for fibromyalgia. Or maybe CFS? -occasional severe sensitivity to noise. I can be sitting in a room, with people around me and noises I would normally not mind (kids playing, etc) will "hurt". I don't really have a headache, and it's not an actual pain.
434278 tn?1324709825 The pain across the back of your shoulders is very typical of fibromyalgia. It is not uncommon for lupus patients to also have fibromyalgia. The one thing that seems to help with fibro is sleep. I take a benadryll and a melatonin to help me sleep. I'm not saying that you only have lupus. I was also told that all I had was fibro and deep don I knew I had more than fibro. I know people w/ fibro and they have never been as sick as I was.

Avatar f tn There is no medical test for Fibromyalgia, however, there are symptoms and certain tender spots on the body that help to make the dx. There is no cure for fibromyalgia. Hope this helps. One thing for sure, keep a medical journal of ALL your symptoms, dates and time. This helps the doctor to make an accurate diagnosis. It also helps you to take a step back and look at the health issues you have.
