1168938 tn?1327157832 E. ALSO my friend has fibromyalgia and she has all your symptoms lol. Mind you though she has tender points, do you have tender points if not it cant be FMS. Check out M.E. though because a lot of your symptoms match. (and MS actually).
Avatar n tn Hi Angela, As a fellow Fibromyalgiac, I have to say that some of what you listed as symptoms just baffled me. I've been living with it for almost 10 years now...and for the record, I can't stand it when someone says "you're fine" but insists on turning you into a walking pharmacy. But while they are not "Fibro" symptoms, it doesn't mean that everything is fine.
Avatar f tn 31 years old, 310 lbs, current known conditions are sleep apnea (uses a CPAP which works well) and GERD (on Nexium which eliminates the symptoms), carpal tunnel His carpal tunnel started getting very bad on one wrist, then his elbow, about 6 - 8 months ago. He bought a new ergonomic keyboard and chair for his office which helped a lot. But the bouts of pain continued, then becoming more generalized to his neck, shoulders, back, legs, etc.
Avatar f tn The one common thread with Lyme Disease is the number of systems affected (brain, central nervous system, autonomic nervous system, cardiovascular, digestive, respiratory, musco-skeletal, etc.) and sometimes the hourly/daily/weekly/monthly changing of symptoms. No one will have all symptoms but if many are present serious consideration must be given by any physician to Lyme as the possible culprit. Lyme is endemic in Canada period.
5586759 tn?1370438872 May I ask you what are taking for acid reflux and is it for GERD (not necessarily the same, depends on frequency of acid reflux)? GERD symptoms are the same for too much gastric acid or NOT enough. You may be able to treat your acid reflux symptoms for good or at least manage it well without the need for medication, regardless. There's a descent website if you're interested in this. Just google Dr. Mark Hyman.
Avatar m tn it is a digestive disease that can have symptoms including migraine, sinus, pain, fatigue, brain fog, GERD. it's often mistaken for fibro. just a thought. a gastroenterologist would dx it.
215164 tn?1269469840 My doc rx'd pantaloc for 30 days and a bland diet with a wait and see what happens. I'm wondering if my symptoms sound like GERD, or another ulcer, or what? My doc did not comment as to the cause just rx'd meds with no testing.
Avatar f tn I think it's important to see your health professional for your symptoms of gerd. Only he or she can properly diagnose the problem correctly.
1364792 tn?1278054787 My doctor thinks that i might have an anxiety problem but i have never been much of an anxious person so i did some research and fibromyalgia seemed to go along with some of my symptoms.. i was just wondering what other people thought.. is it fibromyalgia, anxiety, or something else? Avatar m tn - cold toes. - occasional upper eyelid twitch. - intermittent chest pain (likely my GERD and stress?) - Saw GP - He examined me and stated no strong evidence of anything serious told me to keep an eye on it and if it worsened or new symptoms to come back. Week #3 - poor mood and outlook - certain i had something awful. Driving my wife crazy. - tingly mostly hands and feet. 2 nights this week awoke in sweat with fast heart rate and strong tingling bottom of both hands and feet.
Avatar f tn It would be worth the expense, in my opinion, to try craniosacral therapy also, if you can find a therapist in your area. fibromyalgia symptoms dot org has some craniosacral info.
Avatar n tn How do I safely discontinue oxycontin use without causing myself to have another flareup of fibromyalgia? I believe my condition is now to the point where I can relieve the pain with non-narcotic pain relievers but I'm afraid that coming off of opiates after having been on them continuously for 8 years now will just cause me to go into another flareup. How will I know the difference between a fibromyalgia flareup and the pain and fatigue of withdrawal?
Avatar m tn I have Cervical Stenosis (fusion), DDD, Fibro, CFS, RLS, GERD, and found cancer polyp during my colonscopy, but the cancer hadn't spread into the stem, but if not detected, I would of most likely died of colon cancer because I was only 43 when I had the colonoscopy, due to stomach problems had an ultrasound where the polyp was caught, but if I would of waited to have my first colonoscopy at 50 as recommended, it most likely wouldn't of been found. All of these diagnoses have been since 2006!
Avatar m tn Does anyone out there have Hashimotos Thyroiditis and suffer from Fibromyalgia? I had what I believed was Fibromyalgia for at least ten years. Two years ago my pain became increasingly unbearable along horrible flu-like symptoms that would not go away. All of this forced me to the the doctor and eventually led up to the diagnosis of Hashimotos. I was prescribed Synthroid, and during the next year of so, worked my way up to the dose of 225mcg.
659608 tn?1318292966 What is your recomendation and feelings on using Medicinal Marijuana for Fibromyalgia symptoms? There are so many conflicting articles, it's hard to know the real truth, so a doctor's view point wuld be very helpful.
Avatar m tn You may want to ask for a referal to a gastroenterologist. As far as the other symptoms, I have yet to be dx with fibromyalgia, so I'm probably not the best person to answer your question. It does sound as though you need some tests run to rule out some other causes if you haven't already done so.
Avatar n tn I also used medication for stress/anxiety but it didn't give any relief. Eating/drinking and exercise worsen the symptoms. Does anybody experience head pressure and chest tightness together all the time? Can this be fibromyalgia? Please help.
Avatar n tn i've been suffering the same symptoms and always wondered is it cardiac? doc tells me i probably have gerd and hiatal hernia. my mother has gerd so it may be genetic, not sure. how did your tests turn out? find anything out?
Avatar m tn Have had a strange constellation of symptoms for about eight months now and no diagnosis so far. Started suddenly one day after what I thought was a panic attack and hasn't relented since. Have: Symptoms of prostatitis (poor urinary stream, weak ejaculation, perineal twitching and pain). Urine seems a little more yellow than usual. Fasciculations / muscle twitches -- more or less all over body; not there all the time and I seem to have tied these to episodes of GERD.
209591 tn?1267418314 Hi, I am a 25 year old female that has been experiencing many unexplained symptoms over the last few months...So far I have been diagnosed with myoclonus, hypermobility syndrome, neuropathy (??), fibromyalgia, spinal stenosis, early mild disc degenerative disease, early disc dessication, kyphosis, scoliosis, anemia, osteopenia, and a b-12/iron deficiency. I have a lot of difficulty swallowing, as well as with indigestions.
Avatar n tn I just had a colonoscopy and the doctor said for the most part my colon was ok. he did say I had a slight case of gerd. What Ive read about the vegas nerve and the symptoms seem familiar. I guess ill see my doctor again soon. Any other ideas or suggestions please offer them. Thnak you.
Avatar n tn Do you think it could the silent type of GERD. I was reading sometimes the symptoms are sometimes not typical of GERD with the silent type, some only get a hoarse throat. I wonder if you tried something to calm the stomach acid and the menthol taste went away, would that help determine it's silent GERD? Might be worth a try and if you could replicate it a few times, you might just have your answer. Take care and I'm glad to help as I know how frustrating it is to be dismissed by a doctor.
Avatar f tn My Dr. told m I have gerd although I have not had a EGD done. My symtons are: Burping---Heartburn, the burning is in my throat and stomach--- rib pain--- when I bend over and burp some food will reguratate---bloating--- nausea. I can eat the same foods without a problem and than eat them and feel awful. Yesterday I was burping like crazy and had severe pain from my lowest rib that went through the center of my breast up to the shoulder.
Avatar m tn The headache and muscle pain are way more debilitating than the gerd itself. But it always starts with gerd. The gerd isn't classic heartburn either, it's mainly a pressure pain in my chest and back. My heart checks out OK. Does anybody else get this combination? What have you found out? BTW, I have experienced infrequent short esophageal spasms my whole life, but gerd only started a few years ago.
Avatar n tn This year many long term symptoms have been finally identified. I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia and myofascial pain syndrome. At the same time I rec'd the GERD dx. Recently I had a ba swallow and two weeks ago an egd w/ bx. I got the call this week that it is probably Barrett's esophagus (some slides not back). Of course with my fibro comes reactive hypoglycemia. I feel like a junkie!

Avatar f tn You were all so kind in replying to my last post so I thought I'd come and give a little update. Jen and Maria, you mentioned fibromyalgia as a possible explanation for some of my symptoms so you might find this interesting. I saw my rheumatologist this past week. I have all sorts of ongoing symptoms so it's always hard to figure out what I want from an appointment with her or any of my other doctors.
Avatar n tn Hi Some time ago I was diagnosed with a syndrome that I believe was a five-part acronym. It includes gerd, being very cold, fibromyalgia and I think a couple of other symptoms. Does anyone know what that is?
