Avatar f tn well just got back from lawyer apt and it didn't go well. It seemed as if he didn't believe in fibromyalgia even though he didn't say that. Said that all my test came back ok that it didn't appear that i have anything wrong with me besides my one seizure on my eeg. And that even if i did win since i don't have enough credits and i have to file for ssi and my husband works that i probably won't recieve much as far as a monthly benefit.
Avatar f tn The second major form of syringomyelia occurs as a complication of trauma, meningitis, haemorrhage, tumour, or arachnoiditis. There is quite a good list of symptoms on the Chiari One website - symptoms list. The list includes quite a few of your symptoms including burning shoulders. A standard MRI - sagittal (side) view is used to help identify Chiari 1. A cine (stands for cinema) MRI helps to determine the amount of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) flow.
Avatar n tn Hi, I am 18 months post TT. I have had progressive symptoms since removing my thyroid. I started on 150 mcg of synthroid 4x a day and 175 mcg synthroid 3x a day to get TSH in suppression. First I was dizzy, then aggitated, then couldn't sleep, then aversions to exercise (muscles slightly tremor - notice at night), then migraines and positional vertigo during heat (summer) and exercise, then heart tightness/intense beating, blood pressure all over the place...
665881 tn?1248930597 If the MRI and CT scan did not show MS, it is likely not MS. Although there is an illness called A-typical MS. An inner ear disorder would not cause the pain in other body locations. It could by Lyme, as this is difficult to detect with the routine bloodwork tests. The best advice I can think of is for you to continue seeing a specialist (neurologist, rheumatologist or FMS/CFS) so they can follow your condition and symptoms.
1800611 tn?1315856590 Lowe from the Fibromyalgia Research Foundation supports the premise that most Fibromyalgia patients are either hypothyroid or thyroid hormone resistant. The suggested tests above can detect both. Best wishes.
Avatar n tn My daughter is 27 years old. Two years ago she moved back to Canada from Australia, where she had been for 6 years, studying. While in Australia , she had a few episodes , of I guess passing out? I am not sure? What she told me was, she had been sitting down talking on the phone and got up, and the next thing she knew she was waking up on impact. she had fallen across the room into a book shelf , which had a heavy wicker basket on it,. A lg piece was lodged between her eyes on her face.
975514 tn?1325001538 I feel so bad for my children because they can hardly ever have their fully capable mom around due to this stupid disease. I have three children. I have looked up the symptoms of fibromyalgia and have realized that I have about 90-95% of the symptoms and still feel that I have to be this supermom because my kids and husband deserve it. I have no one else to talk to about this except for my sister who also has fibromyalgia. She is the only one who truly knows what pain I am going through.
Avatar f tn I started looking into causes for my pain and fibromyalgia seemed to fit almost all of my symptoms. I went to my doctor and discussed my symptoms. She ran the tests and ruled out lupus, rheumatoid artharthritis, etc. She said she could prescribe Cimbalta but that it probably wouldn't be covered by my insurance and it wasn't. I have asked her what I can do for the pain and her only suggestion is exercise and do yoga.
Avatar f tn Some of these have been diagnosed, but I'm currently having a HUGE attack of multiple symptoms. I will break them down. Digestive/Gastrointestinal I've had pretty bad IBS for 7 years.

Avatar n tn I have recurrent cold symptoms during my period. I have noticed the symptoms for about a year but for the last six months they have happened every month around the third day of my period. Symptoms include aching joints, blocked nose and headaches as well as generally feeling awful. Periods are heavy and painful with clotting for about seven-nine days. Cold Symptoms usually last 5-7days.
Avatar n tn I was diagnosed with Eagles in March of 2006 after going to 2 ENT doctors and having my tonsils removed because they thought it was some kind of cyst or tumor in my tonsils. My symptoms were the foreign object in the throat feeling, trouble swallowing, food getting stuck in my throat, sore throat 24/7, voice changes. After they removed my tonsils the previous December, I still got food stuck in my throat a couple months later and I still felt the huge lump in my throat...
1216899 tn?1288573925 With all the sites out there that have info on Vitamin D, their just doesn't seem to be one that has all the symptoms that can accompany vitamin d deficiency. I'm going to list my symptoms, so that others may have some insight, in layman's terms. I hope anyone else with the deficiency would also post theirs.
Avatar f tn It just knocks me for over a week every month (as if the other symptoms of endo aren't bad enough). I have to sleep as the fever and fatigue and headaches make my head so heavy and my eyes heavy and I could sleep all day and night. I have no energy whatsoever and just have to lie my head down. I wonder if it's to do with ovulation as I've just found out both my ovaries are a mess (just had one removed) due to endo having stuck them to other organs.
Avatar n tn These reactions can come on long after you are treated, and cause long-lasting pain and other symptoms. Very often those hurt think they have MS, or ALS, or fibromyalgia, or a host of other maladies. They spend thousands of dollars getting MRI, blood and other tests done. Doctors just give them more drugs and tell them it's all in their heads. The reality is, they have been poisoned by an antibiotic that wasn't thoroughly tested before being released on the public.
Avatar n tn I would like to direct this comment to those who have 'allergy-like' symptoms the next day while drinking SOME types of beer, but no symptoms when drinking other types. Try an experiment: Find out the filtration process of the beer that gave you the killer headache/nausea the next day. I bet it is unfiltered, and therefore the beer would contain active yeast. Then, try drinking a beer (such as an import or higher quality domestic) that IS filtered (i.e. no active yeast present).
Avatar n tn You were not specific on the symptoms you experience, but my guess is that when you exercise you don't drink water, or you sweat to excess. This will dehydrate you and you will lose salt and other minerals. You can experience shaking of the hands, visual disturbances, headaches, stomach aches, stitches in the sides, exhaustion, low grade temps and other unpleasant symptoms. If this is the case, try drinking a fluid that has minerals in it like Cytomax.

Avatar n tn Hi there, It is great that you had your heart checked out and that everything is normal. The bloodtests that were done and the ECG's would sure have picked up if you had heart disease. Have you had a bloodtest to rule out "Glandular fever"? (EBV virus can stay dormant and flair up and can also cause these pains). So you can rest assured that your symptoms are not heart related. The rest of your symptoms can be "fibromyalgia" that would explain your wide-spread pains.
Avatar n tn I can be tired after 12 hours sleep! Can I be suffering symptoms from my thallassemia. Does any one else feel the same way that I do? This is a little bit hard for me, but I don't want to complain.
Avatar f tn (First rheumatologist diagnosed me with Fibromyalgia, second rheumatologist said it's definitely not fibromyalgia, but she never believed there was anything wrong with me, even though she saw at the time of my finger swelling.) In high school, I gave blood & had a false positive for HIV. All of my bloodwork has always come back negative (ANA, CRP, everything under the sun.) I generally just never feel well. I have allergies, & I always have.
Avatar n tn Karen: I had similar symptoms (but no blood). I had some knowledge abt the symptoms of GERD & Barrett's Esophagus. The pains I had (shoulder (front and back), under my arm, under the sternum, and across back was GERD pain. I furst went to a heart specialist for tests. They were negative. Then, I went to a Gastroenterologist and confirmed i have Barrett's Esophagus. Yes, I would go to a Gastroentologist.

Avatar n tn I have gone to literally over 14 doctors- orthos, neurolgists, neurosurgeons, general practioners, and none of them has acknowledged my symptoms, but will only look at my MRIs and say, "everything's fine". I have stopped going because I am so sick of paying them for not doing anything for me. My problem is related to my lower back and on one MRI a radiologist actually called it what it was- a slight? herniation of L5-S1 and a central disk "protrusion" in L4-L5.
Avatar f tn Beta was done 11 days past ET and I got a BFP!!! Try not to worry to much, alot of people say they feel no symptoms at all and still get a BFP. Best of luck to you.
Avatar f tn Hi, Just thought you could read about FIBROMYALGIA. I have it and have similar symptoms to you. Connective Tissue condition and sometime associated with autoimmune diseases. I am also under investigation for MS/Autoimmune disease (for last 18 months). Fibromyalgia is diagnosed by a Rheumatologist and with treatment it can be very well maintained. The treatment makes you more tired for the first month but after that things really look up.
773755 tn?1328123377 One reason many conventional doctors do not think fibromyalgia is a “real” condition is that no specific medication is effective for treating this illness. Some medications do help lower the symptoms of fibromyalgia. These include analgesics such as Tylenol and Motrin. Some doctors will prescribe antidepressant medications, although there are many adverse effects. Anti-seizure drugs are the conventional treatment for fibromyalgia. These include Neurontin and Lyrica.
Avatar n tn I was shoddily diagnosed with "dercums Disease about 10 years ago(basically this crappy dermatologist removed a fatty tumor from my back and had his assistant photocopy a page out of a medical book and handed it to me and said you have this). OK, I have looked up Dercums Disease and my lumps do not really fall into dercums category...Dercums sites say they mostly on the sides, back and stomach and can be large pendulous skin folds...well I have them all over my back,,,stomach...
