Those treatments don't work for me, and there is no need to waste the money seeing a specialist for an antidepressant treatment that a family doctor could give me. My symptoms of chronic fatigue seemed to start with Epstein Barr, now I have the joint/nerve pain.

Fatigue, dizziness and so many other symptoms are common in fibro patients and in fact, 29% of fibro patients have a positive ANA titer. I hope that you will consider joining us on MedHelp's fibro/CFS board. I'm the Community Leader there.

Avatar n tn I have numerous symptoms and I was wondering if they all stem from being diagnosed 13 years ago with Fibromyalgia? One of my chief complaints is I get what I could describe as electrical shocks that start in my head and kind-of shoot through my body. They are very painful and seem to disappear with continued use of Lexapro (my dr. prescribed this for my fibro). However, I have other problems as well. I have severe allergies, in which my dr. has prescribed Zyrtec and Flonase.

We'll add a few more symptoms such as anxiety, stress, sleep disturbance and body ache. If there are other symptoms you would like to track, please leave a comment and we'll get them added.

Avatar n tn if the person also has fibromyalgia, I see no reason to believe that reducing symptoms relating to orthostatic intolerance (nausea, dizziness, weakness, vision changes, fatigue, tremulousness) is going to resolve the symptoms of fibromyalgia (stiffness and pain in at least 11 tender point sites).
358486 tn?1294779988 It's a fibro drug. Fibromyalgia usually is debilitating fatigue and pain either in muscles and/or joints. I think it can also be pain in tissues, though not sure if that is official. It also can have other symptoms. Problem with fibro, is that a lot of the symptoms overlap with other autoimmune diseases so doctors have to be sure to rule out other diseases before diagnosis fibromyalgia. My aunt thought for years she had fibromyalgia.
Avatar f tn I have fibromyalgia and am also pregnant now..has anyone been through this and have any advice for me? I cannot take this pain anymore and don't know what to do!!! The only meds they have given me is flexoril and it does nothing for me....HELP!
1075109 tn?1281839291 Better to ignore these labels and deal with whatever the real underlying problem is. Fibromyalgia is a collection of symptoms without a known cause, though there are a lot of theories, and I have mine, but it usually comes with emotional difficulty of one kind or another, usually anxiety and depression. If it's hard to treat, a hack psychiatrist will call it bipolar 2 when his treatments fail, as of course they very well might if the underlying cause is fibromyalgia.
Avatar f tn Ischemia: Cause of Fibromyalgia Pain? Saturday April 18, 2009 Did you know that some fibromyalgia (FMS) pain may be caused by low blood flow to our muscles? The medical name for that is ischemia (ih-SKEE-mee-ah). We've had some limited evidence of ischemia in FMS for a few years, and it's an area that researchers are pursuing.

Avatar n tn My mother died of a brain hemmorhage at age 48 and there is MS in her aunts and cousins. I am 57 and was in menopause when all these symptoms started. 4861077 tn?1360159739 You are one of the few who have offered positive feedback, when it comes to uncovering those underlying layers, like adrenal and thyroid issues (and the flawed tests/treatments), associated with FMS and a long list of other conditions! I commend you for having the determination and perseverance to go through all these steps and get to the bottom of things in order to experience sustainable improvement. 5682570 tn?1372290919 I have fibromyalgia and hepatitis c. I have a constant rash and itching, sometimes better, sometimes worse. It is very annoying, I feel like I might have a thyroid problem but doc says she can tell by my blood work I do not have a problem. I do not agree with that, but maybe it is the fibro or the Hepatitis C. All the doc gave me was hydrocortisone 2 %. Not much help there though. My rash is on my forearms and sides of hip and lower belly. I have had it over 6 months now.
