Common Questions and Answers about Fibromyalgia symptoms and back pain

fibromyalgia

Avatar f tn It was not much of a problem and little bit pain was there. I visited a doctor in April, 2007 and he gave me injection on the affected area. I was relieved of pain immediately but it came again after 1-2 months. But this time, I ignored it but it was not troubling me that much. Then I got married in the month of Feb, 2008. As an Indian Bride, I was also wearing lot of jewellery and that included “BANGLES” as well. Now something new started, the pain grew on me and entire right hand was in mess.
1560356 tn?1294835100 Fibromyalgia, because the illness causes a whole array of symptoms and no one person with Fibromyalgia has the exact same symptoms as another person has, but all of us do suffer pain and fatigue. Someone else will have to comment on the Suboxone, though, as I personally am not familiar with that one.
Avatar m tn ve had migraines, severe neck pain, bad vision, and the last year has developed into extreme back pain, upper and lower, my hip feels like it will fall out of its socket and has been hurting so badly that I cant lie on my right side anymore and my shoulder on right side also severely painful. Been to many doctors who reported nerve pain, artheritis, but xrays show nothing! It is so discouraging and they discourage surgery because they can find nothing wrong.
Avatar n tn you will discover thousands of articles that do suspect a link between the symptoms of fibromyalgia and hormones. Men have hormones too (!) and so of course they could suffer imbalances and symptoms. Fibromyalgia IS a blanket term that is used to describe many problems, including symptoms such as keepthefaith and salter are experiencing. It is believed that it is a central nervous disorder but no one really knows for sure yet. Some doctors don't even believe in it.
Avatar n tn It seems back in 1989 when my son was born is when the pain started. I experienced pain to the touch in my low back. I just shrugged it off as a side effect of the epidural. Nineteen years later, I still have this pain but now it is all over my body....my low back, my ribs, my thighs and shoulders. This pain in my low back is not only when I touch the area, but it's also a deep stabbing pain.
Avatar n tn Hello Margarent, Welcome to the Pain Management Forum. I am sorry to hear about your painful symptoms and fatigue. Obviously I am wondering if you have seen your PCP? I am not a physician so I can only make some guesses and suggestions. I would ask your PCP to perform some lab work to begin the process of diagnosing your symptoms. Specifically you would be looking for inflammation, anemia, vitamin deficiencies, an infection or other such conditions.
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia in 2011, one of my worst symptoms was upper back pain, right in between my shoulder blades. Not even massages helped. In my experience, it was due to tension. I realized that my shoulders were often scrunched up. Even though it was hard to do at first because I was so tense, yoga helped immensely. Google 'yoga poses for back pain' and there's a lot of good videos that can help.
2010625 tn?1329372056 My shoulders, upper back, arms, sometimes my neck. an aching pain.
Avatar f tn From chest pain and rib pain to dizziness and tremors. At the begining of the year I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia. And a few months ago hyperthyroidism. Some symptoms resolved and new ones show up. Now I have this pain in my armpit and it feels like it's swollen. I do not feel any swollen lymph nodes. I get pain into my ribs and a soreness that wraps around to my ribs in my back. I'm so sick of going to the dr.
1033336 tn?1252506131 The characteristic feature of Fibromyalgia is a muscle pain mostly in neck, back, thighs, and hips. There is presence of specific tender points in these areas that trigger the pain. Along with this there is morning stiffness in the muscles, brain fog, dizziness and other neurological symptoms. Since you are suffering from pain specifically located at the joints, and it started after the flu, the pains are related to the viral infection.
Avatar n tn This is associated with fatigue and a heightened and painful response to gentle touch (allodynia). Other symptoms include needle-like tingling of the skin, nerve pain, muscle aches and spasms, weakness in the limbs, functional bowel disturbances, and chronic sleep disturbances. Although fibromyalgia usually presents with chronic widespread pain, pain may also be localized in areas such as the shoulders, neck, low back, hips, or other areas.
Avatar n tn I have had throughout my entire life a bizarre amount of muscle problems and pain. In recent times (last 5-6 months) I have had occasions where my body and skin hurts so much that even my shirt is hurting it. This isn't an everyday, or even every week, event but it has happened probably 5 or 6 time. I have also recently been having terrible night sweats, gained several pounds and have been insanely tired at times.
Avatar n tn It is usually very elevated in in most FMS patients that experience significant muscle and joint pain. Elevated PMS pain is often indicative of high Tartaric acid levels as well. Tartaric acid interferes with the Krebs cycle which is your major energy producing cycle and is a muscle toxin. Also, if your doctor is not a LLMD (lyme literate medical doctor) do a search and find one asap! You could be suffering unnecessarily for the rest of your life.
Avatar f tn I do not have pain in my back or shoulders. but the soreness does get worse throughout the day, and sometimes is accompanied by nausea. I am worried about this bc i do not have insurance. dont know what to do? what could it be?
Avatar n tn I looked at the symptoms but i only had the numbness and tingling in the beginning symptoms. the main problem is my back and neck pain, mostly my back. Since all the tests showed up clear, i don't know what it could have been. Do you think my doctor is wrong? because it just doesnt seem right.
Avatar f tn neck, shoulders, upper back, lower back, hips, chest, breast bone (especially to the sides of it), left arm, abdomen Muscles are tender when I touch them, especially arms and thighs Hypoglycemia Weight Gain I've had heart tests, stomach tests, blood tests. Nothing shows up. I'm getting very frustrated and discouraged! Does this sound like it could be fibromyalgia?
470168 tn?1237471245 By recovered I mean that she still has to stick with the diet etc, but all her symptoms have gone and she is now back in work. My symptoms are going also (over 9 months). I no longer wake up exhausted or fall asleep after dinner. I function well into the evening (ironing and washing dishes). This is a huge improvement for me. Some of my continual muscle pain and spasms have gone and so has the cognitive fog.
Avatar n tn Hi there. Emotional and physical triggers can cause a flare in fibromyalgia symptoms. A flare is usually accompanied by constant pain and lethargy. You might find difficulty to sit, stand or lie for even some time. the triggers known are strong emotions like depression and anger or stress, too much exercise, beginning of an illness, cold, damp weather or extreme heat, any stress on body. That noisy neighbor could affect your health indirectly by causing anger or stress in you. Hope this helps.
997519 tn?1251239849 I started having a tingling pain on my arm. It climbed to my hand and back to my arm. Then moved to my legs. I want to know if this is fibro.
563582 tn?1217742383 Does anyone know if there is any correlation between herpes and fibromyalgia. I notice that since I have been diagnosed with herpes my other pain (we don't know what it is yet but fibromyalgia and lupus are on the table right now) really started to increase. And it's not just the pain normally associated with herpes ( pian down the backs of the legs and swolen glands), it is all of my symptoms seemed to have increased since then.

Avatar f tn I have had fibro for 10 yrs now, just took myself off Tramadol that was prescribed for back pain, athritis and fibro. I found I was worse for taking it, and went through the last 2 weeks of hell. I have found lots of alternative medicines that help. Take epson salt baths this helps with the baseball bat syndrome, lol, I take ibprofin and acetomenaphin alternating when its very bad, take gabopentin only when I have to for the twitching, wich I feel in my legs, back and arms.
Avatar m tn Gabapentin from the neuro did not help the pain, neuro sent us to rheum. who then diagnosed her with fibro. She has severe spinal and back pain (is walking fine now) and has severe fatigue. Her treatment was physical therapy. We go to aqua p/t once a week and have tried actupuncture. In our case it has shown no relief. We have an appt. with a new rheum next week at a large childrens hospital hoping for some further insite or direction.
Avatar n tn Is this pain in your lower back and do you have any sciatic pain? You may want to search piriformis syndrome and see if any of that sounds familiar. You say you are a runner--do you stretch properly before and after? Has anyone searched or can you feel any sore spots (lumpy) when pressed? I am referring to trigger points. These are not the same as tender points that are related to fibromyalgia. These trigger points can be extremely painful and can form in almost any muscle.
