Avatar n tn I have suffered from fibromyalgia for years. I have been taking vitiman B6/B-12 shots, and they help me with the pain of the disease. I"ve been trying to find out where to buy the B-6, I already have the B-12. Can anyone let me know if there is somewhere to buy B-6. Also, Rodex Forte is good for the off days, so I need to buy that also.
Avatar f tn I'm certain your pains are very real and they could be associated with fibromyalgia, which is a very complicated and difficult diagnosis. It might be also a good idea to rule out a differential diagnosis "Tension MyoNeural Syndrome", something you may have never heard before, which, in my own observations and studies affects many sufferers who suspect CFS, FMS and other similar conditions-or even many who might have been misdiagnosed with the aforementioned conditions.
Avatar f tn Find a doctor that will work with you to ease the pain. Find one that believes fibromyalgia is real. It is easier in this day and age to do so. A few short years ago, not so much. My doctor (a few years back) looked at me like I had a mental condition when I told him my skin hurts. Finding a shower head that didn't feel like piercing needles was a task, but finally figured that out. It is hard to explain pain.

Avatar f tn Iam a mother with 2 young children and I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia 4 years ago. Since then I have been suffering with extreme pain that never lets up. I am curious if anyone else has ideas on which medicines work better for pain. I also suffer from depression and anxiety issues. I also have difficulty sleeping, I feel so alone, because neither my family or friends understand my problems. They think I do not really have medical problems. I appreciate if anyone replies!
Avatar m tn One reason many conventional doctors do not think fibromyalgia is a “real” condition is that no specific medication is effective for treating this illness. Some medications do help lower the symptoms of fibromyalgia. These include analgesics such as Tylenol and Motrin. Some doctors will prescribe antidepressant medications, although there are many adverse effects. Anti-seizure drugs are the conventional treatment for fibromyalgia. These include Neurontin and Lyrica.
587071 tn?1218545987 Every thing came out okay but I still have the lumps. My family doctor thinks fibromyalgia is all in my head and its not a real disease. How ever the rumatodaligist thought the other way.Since I had know swelling of my joints they ruled out arthrities. Even though I dont think I have fibromyalgia it could be that I do.I just have a feeling that there is more going on with me.Some days I'm so scared because my body hurts so bad and I cant do any thing for it.

127990 tn?1198200445 The doctor's that I work with looked at me like I was an alien when I told them that my rheumatologist diagnosed me with Firbromyalgia. There is no such thing, they said. I was given Lexapro, cymbalta, ultram, flexeral, lunesta.... How was I to function with pain, no sleep, and if I took all these medications. I knew it was a dead end, so I opted NOT to even starat them. Down the toilet they went! I spent hours online and researching to find what it was all stemming from.
Avatar m tn Study proves fibromyalgia is the real deal Fibromyalgia sufferers have gotten a raw deal for years. Many doctors think the disease is all in their head because there's no lab test that can confirm the source of their symptoms. And with symptoms as elusive as chronic fatigue, muscle pain, and persistent doubt, it's not hard to figure out why these docs are so stumped. Past research has implied that depression was actually the true source of the fatigue and pain of fibromyalgia.

Avatar n tn Yes, it causes all fibromyalgia symptoms as does hormone and vitamin and mineral deficiencies. Fibromyalgia is just a label put onto symptoms according to my pulmonologist and not the cause. It has taken me 12 years of pain and suffering to be told this. Someone was honest enough to inform me. Good luck on your search.
Avatar f tn at 30 yrs old I get stuck in postitions I've been in a while, squating for any period of time burns real bad and exercize also.
Avatar f tn After much blood work, many hospital visits and an abnormal MRI, my neurologist told me I have Fibromyalgia. He then sent me to a rheumatologist who was COMPLETELY against diagnosing someone with Fibromyalgia. He instantly took me off the nuerontin that I had only been on for one month. I then returned to my neuro advising him that my symptoms continued and some were worse.
Avatar n tn What kind of doctor should I consult as my primary care provider for fibromyalgia?
5682570 tn?1372290919 ) Chronic itchiness medical treatment is behind times, as symptom relieving conventional treatments don't work, since the medical establishment has failed to identify the real cause of this, unless the immune system can correct this. In Fibromyalgia , Neurotransmitter Dysregulation is something that comes up in the research circles all the time!
Avatar f tn Hi, I am wondering if fibromyalgia can be missed for years before being diagnosed? When I was a kid up until now I have always had muscle pain. Charlie horses, cramps, tingling in my feet & swelling. No doctor ever said anything to my parents or me. Now I'm 34 haven't been able to work for the last 4 wks due to muscle pain, cramps so bad I'm unable to walk, confusion so bad it interfered with my work, my immune system is basically null & void.
Avatar n tn Do I need an anti depressant yes, but my depression is caused by the fibromyalgia. I also have myasthenia gravis and gastro paresis (oral medications are a real problem). Even now more than 20 years after naming my pain there are very few Drs. that seem to believe this condition is real. I had a Dr. tell me the only reason he believed was because his own wife also a Dr. had been diagnosed.
Avatar f tn I posted my intro here yesterday, so I won't go into all my details, but after 2-3 years of odd symproms and random/chronic muscle pain my neurologist has suggested that I have fibromyalgia. She said I should discuss it with my famil doctor at my next appt, which is in July. Both doctors have run me through countless tests to rule out other neuro and autoimmune diseases including MS. My family doctor really felt like I may be depressed.
975514 tn?1325001538 I think I have been misdiagnosed with Fibromyalgia. And I feel as though I am getting weaker and weaker lately. I need some opinions from the group because my doctor doesn't seem to want to help me. First, I have a strong family history of autoimmune disease including RA, Reactive Arthritis (my father), thyroid and diabetes. I have been diagnosed with DDD, degenerative facet disease, and facet osteoarthritis.
1943833 tn?1349280189 I have wondered often over the last few years if I have Fibromyalgia, but have never asked a doctor about it because I don't seem to have the tender points. I'm wondering how many of these symptoms are "common" for fibromyalgia. Or maybe CFS? -occasional severe sensitivity to noise. I can be sitting in a room, with people around me and noises I would normally not mind (kids playing, etc) will "hurt". I don't really have a headache, and it's not an actual pain.
434278 tn?1324709825 The pain across the back of your shoulders is very typical of fibromyalgia. It is not uncommon for lupus patients to also have fibromyalgia. The one thing that seems to help with fibro is sleep. I take a benadryll and a melatonin to help me sleep. I'm not saying that you only have lupus. I was also told that all I had was fibro and deep don I knew I had more than fibro. I know people w/ fibro and they have never been as sick as I was.
Avatar n tn Since my MRI was normal (it wasn't taken of my spine), I have a feeling he or she will end up diagnosing me with fibromyalgia because I have a lot of those symptoms according to the mayo clinic and xxxxx.xxx. I have L'Hermitte's sign, though. So I don't know what's to become of it all. Do any of you see glittering/floating objects when you look at your computer screens? haha..:) I'm sure some of you do.
Avatar n tn What is considered a comprehensive workup to exclude all other diagnoses before considering fibromyalgia as the diagnosis. It seems to me that different doctors have very different viewpoints as to whether this is a "real" disorder, and when to quit "digging" for another diagnosis.
