217229 tn?1192766004 right now -- not flying off the island just yet) - doesn't have a lot of knowledge about HCV, Fibromyalgia or Interferon TX --- connections. In trying to explain to him that I believe that the current pain I'm in is Fibro and I think that the TX I took may be the culprit --- I get a glassy eyed "sure hon" look. Here, take these pills --- call me in a week if you still feel uncomfortable. And he quotes that flu like symptoms and the other "MILD" symptoms should now be gone.
Avatar f tn read an aritlce about how the brain stem is related to impulses controling the heart rate and rhythm. Here are some quotes from the article. "there is a part deep in the center of the brain called the brain stem which connects the brain to the spinal cord. It can be divided into thirds: the lower (medulla), middle (pons) and a top portion (mesencephalon).
Avatar f tn Hi, I am new to this forum and was wondering if anyone could recommend a GOOD doctor in the OKC metro who will take the time to listen to my symptoms and refer me accordingly. I dumped my GP, Rheumy & Neuro as I was fed up with their lack of compassion. I don't have a lot of time now to go into details since I am at work, but I have been on a quest for a dx for over a year. MRI suggests some delymination in the brain, I have so many of the symptoms I have read about from other peoples posts.
Avatar f tn I have been dx with fibromyalgia about 3 mths ago. I am self employed and this is really affecting my work! Need anyones opinions or comments.
Avatar f tn I had lyme disease that the doctor thought was later stage lyme, Had been diagnosed with fibromyalgia, probably after the first lyme was ignored, and now years later I had microscopic colittis. I have severe degenerative arthritis that is destroying my spine. I think everything goes back to lyme disease. I only had the 28 day antibiotic treatment. Please help me if you have any ideas.
Avatar f tn I have fibromyalgia, ddd, and scoliosis... i recently found out that i am pregnant. This will be my second child and all of my health issues began after my first child.... I went to the OBGYN today and he told me that Fibromyalgia is a B.S. diagnosis and that i am just going to have to deal with the pain and its going to get worse not better. Those were his exact words.
Avatar n tn My mom has chronic pain. She has a dx of fibromyalgia. Reviewing an MRI of the Lumbar Spine in 8/18/05, I note: "tarlov cysts observed arising from the axillary sleeve on the left from L5 and large Tarlov cysts observed involving the axillary sleeves at S1, left larger than right." She complains on ongoing unrelieved (some with Vicodin)pain in her back. She does have moderate degenerative changes and a couple questionable compression fxs noted on 8/18/05.
803979 tn?1237959952 I lost the hearing in my left ear in 1996 (unexplained but will never return), this has led to Meniere's disease which basically turns me a little topsy turvy and sometimes when I have a flare up, I can't drive. I also have fibromyalgia, and am on the protocol for its treatment. You see? Nothing is life threatening or totally debilitating. I worry b/c my mom has had 2 heart attacks and she's 57. She suffers from insulin dependent diabetes, high blood pressure and chronic heart failure.
763858 tn?1234815337 Sorry I haven’t posted back…have been extremely sick and incapacitated! I'm desperately at the "end of my rope!” I went to the ER today, bc I've been dizzy, nauseous, vomiting, & having diarrhea (with some blood in stool), with off-&-On Migraines from hell, for about a month now. My neuro, rheumy, & PCP had NO ANSWERS for me this month, with all this. So, desperate, I went to the ER. It only served to make my husband mad at me (as if we need any more distance between us!
Avatar f tn I had a lymes test in January and came back negative. I went to a rheum spec who sore me for 5minutes and said i had fibromyalgia, i had a neck and head mri which showed nothing. I was prescribed antidepressants to treat the fibromyalgia, but nothing happened. I went on holiday, and the nausea and sickness started.
492869 tn?1285022533 We have some options in our Health Pages. I hope something here can be of help to you. You can also Google Co-Cure's good doctor list to see if there is someone in your area that specifically treats CFS. Take care.
Avatar n tn has good information for FMS/CFS sufferers. Personally I only experienced odd perspiration for a few months, often cold sweats, day & night. Then it went away. BUT... that doesn't mean anything, we're all going to have different & often unique symptoms. explains how they overlap w/other disorders like CFS, Lyme, Lupus, etc.
Avatar m tn During all of those years I had been displaying Fibromyalgia and CFS symptoms, but she didn't recognize them. We all need to be our own advocates that is for sure. Some doctors just don't understand the disorder, especially when you consider that the doctors who are experienced and practicing right now were trained at least 10-15 years ago (or more). Back then doctors were taught that Fibro and CFS were completely Psychosomatic disorders.
Avatar f tn In fact, get and keep copies of all of your medical records. Doctors make mistakes! That is what has led me here. I have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia. One of the things they are finding is that a lot of people that have fibro, ALSO have thyroid issues. Have them give you the lab values, and then if you have to, research them online! Don't EVER let them just say "you are normal". I just found out that my TSH is high according to "new" lab values.
Avatar n tn I am eagerly awaiting the new Endo's toughts after all the tests come back. (I have also been diagnosed by a rheumatologist as having Fibromyalgia - which the new Endo thinks is also linked. Do you have any problems like that?) Strange that these two should be going hand in hand with me too??? Sorry if this reply doesn't make sense - I am in the UK and it is incredibly hard to get any in depth information from our docs. I am struggling to understand all this stuff and feel better.
Avatar n tn I took Cymbalta and was also taking a number of meds related to my migraines and other FIbromyalgia issues. I ended up with something called Serotonin Syndrome. MOre cases are being reported each year. I insisted on having a test called the P450 Cytochrome Polymorphism test to determine if I had a genetic marker that would make me metabolize medications poorly. I insisted on this for two years before ending up in the hospital. Finally, I was tested at Mato Clinic and wouldn't you know...
477019 tn?1207882298 By now we have moved out of the only house she knew into another home. Did I mention that I am disabled due to fibromyalgia? The friend of a friend who helped us move turned out to be my caregiver in lieu of paying his half of the bills. The first six months was a little odd, but he ended up being very good for her and I. I year to the day that we moved in there, the house was sold and we had to move yet again. This time to an apartment.
560272 tn?1311353893 I hope I haven't given the impression my pain only last for a few days! I'm in pain daily, but my "flare ups" only last for about a week (thank goodness). And I've been having these symptoms for 10 years, but GP's always just say I have "anxiety/depression", none of them have ever mentioned Fibromyalgia! Amazing! And all my tests always come back within normal range, so they always pass it off as anxiety/depression and hand me Prozac.
Avatar m tn After researching on Curezone I found several things to try. One of those was food-grade quality diatomaceous earth (DE). From what I understand, DE is the fossilized remains of diatoms (hard-shelled algae). It's harmless to humans (except if you breath it) but it's deadly to bugs. It's like broken glass to them. I found them for a good price on the internet and ordered some.
Avatar m tn As I mentioned above I have tinnitus and headaches in addition to the rocking sensation. One specialist I spoke to said that people with psychogenic vertigo (what you are talking about as from anxiety) tend to exhibit milder versions of symptoms and have history of similar complaints that malinger. Unless you fit this bill you are probably more likely talking to a doctor who is simply unwilling to admit their limited knowledge of vertigo.

Avatar n tn Hello, I am a 29 year old male in good health. Starting 7 months ago, I began to have some strange neurological symptoms. The first was a minor pins-and-needles feeling in my left hand that lingered for a few days. It went away for a few weeks, then came back again. Another few weeks, it came back again, but this time with a tingling feeling in my left cheek as well. Another few weeks later, both came back, and my left toe was tingling and the back of my left leg also tingled.
Avatar n tn i take darvocet for fibromyalgia..i dont think i abuse them, maybe 2 to 3 a day, but they seem to be the ONLY thing that helps the pain...the dr gave me ultram and they havent done a thing...has anyone else tried ultram?
Avatar f tn Saw several specialists (not a neuro) and had numerous tests and was told pinched nerves, tmj, fibromyalgia, chronic sinus infection and migraines. Left to muddle through on my own over the lat 10 years the episodes would come and go. I would take antibiotics (for sinus), or do physio (for spasms), take pain medication, antihistamines (for dizzy).
Avatar n tn To Doc RPS: As I have said before... "On-Call 24-7, dedicated to the art, a sage quoter of wise quotes wrapped in the stylish cloak of unsurpassed angelic devotion. 1554647 tn?1316830820 A few comments, if I may, in response to quotes from the PhD friend: "Doctors can do pretty much what they want **as long as it is legal/approved** by health canada(i.e. Procedures and drugs for safety). **If the treatment is approved**, it is the descretion of an individual physician to prescribe. However, there is no guarantee of coverage by the province. ... There does tend to be a general consensus regarding practice (with variation...
Avatar f tn I have read soo many people have Lyme and it is misdiagnosed as MS, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, ect... I am currently waiting on lyme lab report from Quest instead of of the routine negative only report they send. Any advice or help from people who have gone thru this process of being diagnosed, treated and especially herbal products they help is appreciated. My future sister in law has lyme disease and is in the beginning treatment with antibitotics.
Avatar n tn Honey, now stop that. I'm a 1 also and you and I are on the same team, remember? We're not in this to lose. Sioux. Expecting really good news from you come September.
Avatar n tn I've been going through what you describe, and more, since January of 2004, however, the bloating began long before then. Problem is, I would get an appointment with the doc and by the time I got there, the bloating would be down. Since January of 2004, I've been told I had rhuematoid arthritis, lupus, ruptured lumbar discs, pinched nerves, etc., etc., etc. I even received two epidural injections, which of course, did nothing, because that isn't what was wrong.
