Avatar n tn I am a woman in my mid 30's. I woke up this morning with sever wrist pain. I also have some numbness in my finger tips and my hand is very very weak. I had noticed over the last couple of weeks that I would have sporatic pain in my wirsts but I just brushed it off. I researched it a little on-line and I came up with the same answer... thyroid. Both of my sisters suffer from thyroid problems so I thought that it could be that.
Avatar f tn However, I was on mobic for my wrist and that did not help at all so I had to get a cortisone shot in my wrist. It seemed to help, but the pain is already back and stronger than ever. Now I have a cold, wet feeling in my thumb. I grabbed a random photo off the Net and circled the place as to where I feel that sort of feeling. I never had the feeling before. I'm also limited on my mobility and my right ankle is pretty swelled up as well.
Avatar n tn why do some of my finger joints and my left wrist hurt only in the middle of the night?
Avatar f tn I am 26 and experiencing numbness and swelling in mostly my right hand. My hand actually swells so much that other people notice without me saying anything. Also with the swelling there is EXTREME PAIN. The pain and swelling doesn't SEEM to be in my joints or wrist. I can only describe this type of pain in one way.. I feel like my whole hand is exploding from the inside. It hurt so bad all i could do is roll around on the floor and yell.

Avatar f tn It gets so bad that I cannot climb stairs by the end of the night without difficulty. I have difficulty writing due to the hand and wrist pain. I am stiff and sore in the joints in the mornings, it gets better during the day and then the pain is severe in the evenings. I have had blood tests for Lupus, Rhematoid arthritis, lymes and parvo and they have been all negative. I also have chronic neck, back and hip pain. This has been going on for a long time now, over a year.
Avatar m tn Ganglion cysts are very common fluid-filled lumps that form on the hand and wrist, usually on the upper side of the wrist. This will also be examined by both the specialists. After you come to a diagnosis a proper line of treatment should be started. Till then you can have intermittent anti inflammatory medications. Take care!
4982655 tn?1361980727 Every now and then, I get strange joint pain. I'm 18, healthy, active. I'm not sure what could be wrong. Last summer, I had a few areas that, one by one right after another, would just ache for a few days. It's happened here and there since then but these last few weeks have been miserable for me. I'm a housekeeper at an Alzheimer's home so I'm always busy, always on my feet. I began to have a soreness in my left big toe.
Avatar f tn Help! I have been having traveling joint pain for about two months now. I think this all started when I got a really bad strep throat infection. About two weeks after the infection pasted I started getting bad burning pains in my wrists when I move them (especially flexing them up or down) It was so bad I couldn't get dressed by myself in the morning) I started wrapping my wrist and that seemed to help.

Avatar f tn Hi I'm 20yrs old and worried about auto immune diseases. On my fathers side there is heaps a lupus and rhumatiod arthritis, as well as fibromyalgia, palindromic rheumatism and a few others similar! As I was growing up I always used to get reAllly bad 'growing pains' in my cales. Which Is normal, but now that I'm old I get them a fair bit at night, as well as what I can only describe as shin splints, which disable me from walking about once a month.
Avatar n tn I could not do anything with my hand, wrist, or arm. It was even too painful to place my wrist on my body as I lay in bed. The pain persisted for at least 24 hours and was so bad I had to write with my left hand the day after the injection. Nothing (NSAIDs, ice, elevation) helped the pain. Is this an indication of an allergy or did the doctor hit a nerve or something??
272434 tn?1228607209 Thanks for the information. I also decided not to have surgery on wrist or back. I will try the splint at night and exercises for wrist. When I can't tolerate the pain any longer then maybe I will look into surgery.
Avatar f tn In 2005 I developed what was believed to be tendonitis of my left arm, mainly focused near the wrist. I believed at the time that my violin playing was the cause, as the pain was the worst when I would practice my instrument. I stopped playing the violin, to give my tendon time to heal. I was diagnosed with the tendonitis by a specialist, who suggested physical therapy. After two months without improvement, I stopped the therapy.
Avatar f tn A positive ANA does not indicate fibromyalgia. However, fibromyalgia often does go hand in hand with some auto-immune diseases. My ANA was positive one time and negative the next. My rheumatologist continues to test me as there is clearly something auto-immune going on on top of my fibromyalgia. Because of other symptoms he feels it is developing lupus and he is treating me for that and it is helping.
Avatar f tn I'm so happy that I found Zarkon's post. I'm 22 years old and I have these sore tender spots all over my body and when I rub them I feel small little nodules. The are so tender that if someone accidentally touches one to hard it brings me to tears. The ones on my ribs hurt the most and I have had them for a while and they won't go away.

Avatar f tn d and when I get frustrated, will sort of grin and bear it fotr a while. I have a question about the numbness/pain/stiffness assoc. with MS. When my symptoms first began (they are predominantly one sided), I was having a lot of numbness and needle stabbing type pain. The numbness has eased up (for now) and I more frequently will experience intermittent quck, but intense pain in my toes/bottom of foot and other areas of my leg, left hand, upper chest and back.
Avatar m tn My mother has recently experience these symptoms: shoulder, wrist, hip, knee pain. Plus, in the mornings sometimes she can't make a fist, and experiences "buzzing" in her joints throughout the day. Especially her hands. She also experiences a great deal of back pain and she bruises easily. She has been tested for parvo, limes disease, arthritis and lupis. no luck yet. she also can be quite thirsty throughout the day.... any idea?! she has been given naproxen as a pain killer.
Avatar m tn Hello - I was just told I have Fibromyalgia by my rheumatologist but need to wait on my blood work results to confirm this diagnosis. In the meantime, I have a question regarding a test I had done many years ago on my legs. I was seeing a neurologist regarding tingling to my hands/wrist and feet/ankles. He did a test on me called an EMG (Electromyogram) on my legs to find out how my muscles were working and looking for any nerve disorder.
523861 tn?1212277420 I have a problem with my knees also. I was diagnosed with osteoarthritis in my knees and fibromyalgia. I get a lot of the pain and swelling in my hands and fingers, wrists also. My back and neck hurt a lot. I went to two different rheumatologists, and was given some help, but not anything that really takes the pain and sore feeling away. I have good days and bad. Do you have any irritable bowel problems? I have that along with it.
Avatar f tn I have been diagnosed with raynauds a few years ago, I am 17 and keep having constant tired eyes, slight dizziness, wrist pain (feels like veins are in pain, if I keep them in another position other than being straight for a while they begin to hurt. I also get pain in my ankles but the doctor has set me up for physio as she thinks they are weak. I have sprained them both just running around my block and have been told I run normally.
