Has anyone had joint pain in their shoulders that progressively got worse to the point of muscle weakness? I feel like it's something other than fibro. RA?

I have fibromyalgia and so does my mother. From what I have learned it can stay the way it is now for the rest of your life or it can get worse. Try to stay on a daily routine sleep when your tired and don't overdue yourself, the best you can do is take good care of yourself hoping to help it not get worse. Very true, as bad as it gets for you.

Hi, I have experienced a great deal of pain in my back, hip, leg, and ankle (among other things including fibromyalgia) for quite a long time now. The first time I went to doc w/back pain, I was put on anti-inflammatory meds which worked for a while. Next, each time it acted up, I was given a round of steroids which helped sometimes. Following an MRI, I was told a disc was buldging and pinching a nerve. This led to a lumbar epidural shot. This worked for 3 yrs (I was lucky).

I had the exact same experience when I first read about fibromyalgia symptoms! "This is ME!" There is a link between VDD and fibromyalgia, but it seems researchers don't totally agree on how the link is to be understood.. t really sound much like fibromyalgia pain - that pain is typically widespread and not just in one area (although certain areas can feel worse at times than other areas). It also usually affects both sides of the body pretty equally. It sounds more like maybe a shoulder injury (have you fallen or stretched your shoulder at all? heavy lifting?) I could also be a pleuritic type pain (inflammation of the area around the lungs).

ill try about anything to get rid of this pain and everything else i have .. but it only made me feel worse. i would actually throw up from the pain and would be down for days at a time trying to get over it. i think im actually getting use to everything but the pain. theres times my pain is so bad i just cant hardly take it and although my doctor has me on pain med. it doesnt work so great all the time. i dont even know what to tell myself anymore. goodluck!

5 four times a day but my pain is getting worse and now im getting burning sensations along with the regular pain i usually get (which the burning seems to increase my pain from a 6 to about a 8 1/2) and thats with taking my pain meds. In the contract i had to sign it said that i cant call his office about prescriptions. Im wanting him to up my pain meds tho for the fact of the dose im on isnt really doing crap. The dentist has given me stronger meds then my pain med doc does.

IC stands for Interstitial Cystitis (painful bladder disease). My doctor said that they all could be related, and because I have all of them plus IBS, that they can all flare at the same time and make all of them worse at one time. So I've been in constant pain lately. Going to have a robotic laproscopy some time in Feb to remove the scar tissue/adhesions, seperate the ovary, fallopian tube and bowels from eachother and hopefully save the ovary and tube. Has anyone ever had this done?

I feel your pain. I am living a whole different life because of te pain in my legs feet arms and hands, I pray we all get some relief....

The pain is getting worse with each day. Has anyone gone through pregnancy with fibromyalgia? I have no clue what to do. I was diagnosed after my first pregnancy 8 years ago. Fibromyalgia has to be one of the worst things I have had yet, but, I am sure thre will be something worse! That seems to be that with life. Hi again. I was diagnosed in 1997 with fibro. I think my worst symptom is the deep pain in my muscles and joints. I have alot of UTI's, vaginitis, yeast infections, headaches and fatigue. I tried to get disability and was denied. Then I got on the fentynal patch for pain and felt I could work cause it helped my pain tremendously. I have also taken Norco for 3 years. I recently went off of my patch due to no insurance. (It's very expensive). I actually feel better.

We have started acupuncture which has been quite good so far, his pain has reduced. He is now missing lots of school, originally due to fatigue and chest pain and last week due to nausea. Are the doctors correct in their diagnosis, can anyone suggest a way forward or shed any light on a similar experience?

I have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia and I was wondering if I can have it in my stomach muscles. My pain is always there but sometimes goes away for a month and then comes back.Could this be part of the fibro?

I have severe Fibromyaliga pain mostly in my back between my shoulder blades. The pain is so severe that without treatment I would need a wheelchair to get around. I've been taking Tramadol 100mg for 3 years but its slowly losing its effect and I'm finding my pain getting worse again. So I am now looking for either an entirely new medication or something I can take on top of the Tramadol to help ease the pain.

I take 950mg thyroxine a week. Everything has been fine until recently I started having joint pain which became worse so I had blood test which are as follows Free T3 5.27pmol/1 Free T4 15.98pmol/1 and TSH 0.20mIU/ml. My previous readings were alot lower. My doctor says I have fibromyalgia and has given me Lyrica and Betaloc as my blood pressure is quite high. He hasnt changed my thyroxine dosage which is strange if the results are alot different than normal.
