Avatar n tn A satellite myofascial point is a highly irritable spot in a muscle that becomes inactive because the muscle is in the region of another trigger pain. The pain of fibromyalgia is generalized, occurring above and below the waist and on both sides of the body. On the other hand, myofascial pain is more often described as occurring in a more limited area of the body, for example, only around the shoulder and neck, and on only one side of the body. Take care and regards !
Avatar m tn Could you please tell me what a low oxalate diet. I am in so much pain. Narcotics barely dull the pain. I'm willing to try anything.
Avatar f tn I have been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, and I have severe muscle pain and stiffness. I was wondering if anyone could tell me any kind of medicine that might help? Everything I have tried so far didn't help at all......
Avatar f tn I went to the emergency room and the doctor and was told it was sciatica and tense muscles probsbly from stress.. after about 3 weeks of this the leg pain and paresthesia went away but i was still having neck and back pain, headaches, muscle twitches . Now i just started having those same symptoms in my rifht side. Along with the muscle twitches and back pain And headaches. Im not sure if this seems like fibromyalgia or not?
Avatar f tn I have fibromyalgia and so does my mother. From what I have learned it can stay the way it is now for the rest of your life or it can get worse. Try to stay on a daily routine sleep when your tired and don't overdue yourself, the best you can do is take good care of yourself hoping to help it not get worse. Very true, as bad as it gets for you.
Monster ### FIBROMYALGIA SYMPTOMS Pain — The primary symptom of fibromyalgia is widespread (diffuse), chronic, and persistent pain. The pain may be described as a deep muscular aching, soreness, stiffness, burning, or throbbing. Patients may also feel numbness, tingling, or unusual “crawling” sensations in the arms and legs.
Avatar n tn I have been having chest pain for quite some time now. For the past 2 weeks it comes & goes. It is worse sometimes (it varies from day to day) when I eat, when I exercise, when I get too stressed, when I get hot & when I lie down. It is like a sharp nagging pain in the middle of my rib cage sometimes lasting more than a few minutes. I have always also had problems with shortness of breath & dizziness. I am also tired all the time.
Avatar n tn Although there is no cure for fibromyalgia, home treatment can relieve some of the symptoms. Fibromyalgia pain is muscle pain and the most important therapy for muscle pain is regular, gentle and low-impact exercise. It keeps muscles conditioned and healthy and decreases the amount of discomfort. It is very important to try low-stress exercises such as walking, swimming, water aerobics, and biking rather than straining exercises such as weight training. Heavy exercises worsen the symptoms.
Avatar f tn i think im actually getting use to everything but the pain. theres times my pain is so bad i just cant hardly take it and although my doctor has me on pain med. it doesnt work so great all the time. i dont even know what to tell myself anymore. goodluck!
Avatar n tn There's usually an underlying reason that triggers Fibromyalgia from the extended pain or stress. Also be sure to get a mamogram to rule out anything from the breasts. They will probably tell you that they are harmless fatty deposits if nothing else is discovered. Best of luck and keep me posted!
1033336 tn?1252509731 The characteristic feature of Fibromyalgia is a muscle pain mostly in neck, back, thighs, and hips. There is presence of specific tender points in these areas that trigger the pain. Along with this there is morning stiffness in the muscles, brain fog, dizziness and other neurological symptoms. Since you are suffering from pain specifically located at the joints, and it started after the flu, the pains are related to the viral infection.
Avatar m tn Following a good organic diet for borth migraine and fibromyalgia helps and avoiding stress. I have blackout shades in my home and NO FLOURESCENT BULBS!!! Warm baths are great. I've been watching some research at Stanford and hoping for success there. It's non narcotic and inexpensive. You can catch a youtube film about it by looking up stanford fibromyalgia. Good luck.
358486 tn?1294779988 this leads to Fibromyalgia, but not in all the cases, of course. It is also noted that those who complain of more pain after the surgery, have more chance of developing fibromyalgia. One more reason thought to be implicated in post surgery fibromyalgia is ..... the neck is hyper-extended while doing the intubation and this constitutes a neck injury! Hope that helps.
Avatar f tn Sleep is essential especially for fibromyalgia or any type of pain. If you can get 6 hours minimum you can better deal with the pain. Have you ever had a sleep study? I requested one and I have sleep apnea. I also take trazadone. It is an older sleep medication that is taken at bedtime. You and your doctor can decide if taking something would help. To me your top list would be your headaches, not sleeping and pain.
Avatar f tn Have they checked you vit D level? Symptoms of vit D deficiency are: calf muscle & feet pain cramps in feet & legs muscle weakness waddling walk bone pain & weakness fatigue insomnia tingling in extremities diarrhea depression heart palpitations confusion/unorganized I know when the symptoms are flaring, I have to be careful NOT to push myself. Even when I've got a million things on my "to do" list. So the plan would be to exercise when your symptoms are not so bad.
Avatar m tn Another very important thing I do is use guided imagery CDs as purchased thru the American Chronic Pain Asso. Their stress relieving exercises have reduced my pain and thereby reduce the amount of pain meds I take. www.theacpa.
Avatar f tn Does anyone who has been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia know of the best medication to take to help relieve the discomfort associated with this disease?
1336585 tn?1275712712 I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia a year and a half ago but have had chronic pain for about 6 years. The pain is constant and only with medication can i even function on a daily basis. Some days, the meds only help a little and the achiness is so intense all i want to do is lay down and sleep. With 4 young kids, that's not always an option. The worst part about it is that no one understands the pain i'm in except for those that have this conditon.
1550149 tn?1340004330 Some experts believe that fibromyalgia does not lead to poor sleeping patterns, but that sleep disturbances come first, precipitating many cases of fibromyalgia pain. In one study, healthy volunteers reported fibromyalgia-like pain after they had been subjected to disrupted deep sleep. Disturbed sleep appears to trigger factors in the immune system that cause inflammation, pain, fatigue, and a decreased pain threshold.
Avatar f tn Here in the states fibromyalgia is treated with lyrica, cymbalta and a few other drugs that help with pain and help sleeping. In addition many of us take other pain meds. The care is supposed to be just for the person. What may work for me may not work for you. I think you need to see a rheumy dr. He treats people with pain in the joints and such. I also have a spine condition I've had since birth . I was told I would always have pain in my lower back. I went to a chriopractor.
