Avatar f tn Thanks for your response. I have yet to be diagnosed and I have tingling, numbness and pis/needles. I wasn't sure if that as common for fibromyalgia or not. And, it drives me crazy too! I can barely stand to sit at the computer anymore because of it!
Avatar f tn Although fibromyalgia usually presents with chronic widespread pain, pain may also be localized in areas such as the shoulders, neck, low back, hips, or other areas. Alternatively she should be tested for gout and rheumatoid arthritis. The cause of fibromyalgia is often hereditary or due to a physical or emotional trauma or due to lingering infection in the body such as due to mono.
2010625 tn?1329372056 t know enough about fibromyalgia and how, besides the horrid pain, it can affect people. You might do better to post on the Fibromyalgia Forum and discuss with other people who have this if they experience what you do. Depersonalization I know quite personally. I've suffered hundreds of eopisodes during panic attacks, or perhaps it was the depersonalization that brought on the panic.......it has always been a chicken or the egg question for me.
Avatar f tn The left side of my body from head to toe has weakness, numbness, uncoordinated, pain, burning foot, numbness that wraps around my leg like an ace bandage, and sometimes over sensitive when touched. Along with all that fun stuff, short term memory loss, bowl & urinating issues. So in short I've lost about 25 - 30% usage on my left side, unable to walk without a limp. (In Feb 2000 I lost feeling for 2 weeks, but it all came back except for a little numbness still in my face).

Avatar f tn d and when I get frustrated, will sort of grin and bear it fotr a while. I have a question about the numbness/pain/stiffness assoc. with MS. When my symptoms first began (they are predominantly one sided), I was having a lot of numbness and needle stabbing type pain. The numbness has eased up (for now) and I more frequently will experience intermittent quck, but intense pain in my toes/bottom of foot and other areas of my leg, left hand, upper chest and back.

Avatar f tn I recently posted regarding some tingling and numbness in arms and B12 or diabetes was suggested. I have since started taking B vitamins and have been very careful about what I eat. I have also been exercising everyday. The numbness and tingling has gone completely away - however, I still have severe muscle pain in both forearms. Can this be related? It has only been 3 weeks since I started the vitamins.
Avatar n tn Since Topamax is not providing any relief, I would suggest you to discuss the possibility of fibromyalgia with your doctor. Avatar n tn I am a 35 yr old female. I have had pain and occasional numbness in my hands for about 10 years. I used to think it was due to excessive typing at the office. Then, it moved to my wrists, forearm, elbow and now up to my shoulders. The pain and numbness wakes me up at night. I am not working on a computer any longer in my job-just doing normal projects around the home but the pain has continued to increase.

Avatar f tn Five years ago I started experiencing numbness of my feet, but also a severe sensitivity of my foot soles. It has become more severe over the years and now my hands also have this numbness. My fingers are dumb at doing small things. Turning pages is difficult, treading a needle is almost impossible. Lately I have trouble with bladder control and permanent muscle pain which is worse when I get up in the morning or when I drive and get out to walk. Every time.
Avatar f tn I believe the paresthesia is the sensation of numbness, tingling/pins and needeld. The pain can be related to a number of conditions such as: alcoholism, atherosclerosis autoimmune disorders, fibromyalgia, herpes zoster, lyme disease metabolic disorders (diabetes, hypothyroidism, hypoparathyroidism,) neuropathy Vitamin B deficiency B5 and B12, and others. My pain is caused from severe bulging at L3, L4 and L5. Please get medical attention as the latter, if it is, can be debilitating.
Avatar f tn m at the end of my rope because nobody can give me any answers to my situation....fibromyalgia? I also have numbness occasionally in my feet and I was started on Neurontin a week ago, still waiting for any change....my GP and Ortho act like it's all in my head....can anybody relate to these symptoms or should I just see a psychiatrist?
Avatar f tn My doctors are considering a diagnosis of fibromyalgia, contingent upon the results of a recent biopsy to determine if Sjogren's is a factor. Can fibromyalgia be the cause of my symptoms that cycle (recurring fevers, rash, fatigue, pain, blurry vision, and numbness in hands and feet)? I've heard of it being a factor in regard to fatigue and pain, but am unsure about vision, rash, numbness, and especially fevers.
