Avatar f tn I've been struggling with health issues for a year now, that started off with a suspected duodenal ulcer. I was very ill with that, then my father was hospitalized with severe illness. This was quite a traumatic event for me, and since then I've had a lot of health issues.
Avatar n tn A satellite myofascial point is a highly irritable spot in a muscle that becomes inactive because the muscle is in the region of another trigger pain. The pain of fibromyalgia is generalized, occurring above and below the waist and on both sides of the body. On the other hand, myofascial pain is more often described as occurring in a more limited area of the body, for example, only around the shoulder and neck, and on only one side of the body. Take care and regards !
Avatar n tn I have fibromyalgia and was finally diagnosed with fibromyalgia after many years of suffering with severe pain. I still have pain all the time. It is hard to get of bed some days.
Avatar n tn Although there is no cure for fibromyalgia, home treatment can relieve some of the symptoms. Fibromyalgia pain is muscle pain and the most important therapy for muscle pain is regular, gentle and low-impact exercise. It keeps muscles conditioned and healthy and decreases the amount of discomfort. It is very important to try low-stress exercises such as walking, swimming, water aerobics, and biking rather than straining exercises such as weight training. Heavy exercises worsen the symptoms.
1033336 tn?1252509731 The characteristic feature of Fibromyalgia is a muscle pain mostly in neck, back, thighs, and hips. There is presence of specific tender points in these areas that trigger the pain. Along with this there is morning stiffness in the muscles, brain fog, dizziness and other neurological symptoms. Since you are suffering from pain specifically located at the joints, and it started after the flu, the pains are related to the viral infection.

Avatar f tn I had so much pain that I could hardly crawl in the door yesterday. The pain was everywhere upper back, legs, hips, upper arms and neck. It seems like this condition happens when I have not much pain and try to get everything I need to do in a couple days and then the next day I cannot move. On a good day if I sit for more than 20-30 minutes I stiffen up and takes a while to move again at all. My knees joints are very painful.
Avatar f tn Sleep is essential especially for fibromyalgia or any type of pain. If you can get 6 hours minimum you can better deal with the pain. Have you ever had a sleep study? I requested one and I have sleep apnea. I also take trazadone. It is an older sleep medication that is taken at bedtime. You and your doctor can decide if taking something would help. To me your top list would be your headaches, not sleeping and pain.
1168938 tn?1327157832 Joint issues, muscles pains, sleepless nights, depression, cognitive issues, brain fog, always tired, IBS, Gerd, cramps in hands, hips and feet, temperature varies from boiling hot to cold, weakness in muscles and twitching, difficulty walking I'm unsteady on my feet and that's just a few of my symptoms. I also have reflex/startle myoclonus and spinal myoclonus which seems to be the thing the doctors talk about and they tend to ignore my other symptoms.
3202069 tn?1345408082 Part of the problme with the fibromyalgia is I get headaches because of the tension in the muscles in my neck. I was hospitalized a few months ago with chest pains and they said it was because the muscles around my heart were tightening up from my fibromyalgia causing me to feel like I was having a heart attack. I have tried Lexapro, Cymbalta, Sevella, and numerous drugs but to no avail. Diet is the most important. Yeast breads, pizza, sodas and staying away from sugars and alot of carbs.
Avatar m tn I think everyone experiences some pain when they stay in one spot for too long. Or perhaps your mattress is too firm or too soft?? I have the same issue with sore hips when I wake up but I have Fibromyalgia so I assume it's from that.
Avatar n tn astma, hypertension & allergies. All started in early & late thirties.
Avatar n tn I have terrible pain too. Sometimes it is all over. Sometimes it's just in my neck, back, hips and legs. I tried Cymbalta, but it just made me have nausea. Ibuprofin can sometimes take some of the edge off, but the pain never goes away. The only thing that consistently helps is heat with heating pads and rest.
Avatar n tn In fact I am in pain right now. I have had SI shots but the hip and trochanter bpain is getting old. I can barely get sleep at night.
Avatar f tn The main thing to keep in mind (and you may have to stress this to your doctor) is that pain knows no age restrictions and fibromyalgia pain is no different. It IS very possible to have fibro even at your young age. If, after your doctor appointment, you don't feel like you are getting satisfactory care or results, do not hesitate to seek a second opinion, even searching for a rheumatologist. A rheumy doc tends to deal with fibro more often than a lot of GP (general practitioner) doctors.
Avatar f tn I have been diagnosed with herniated disks, bone spurs in right shoulder and cervical spine. I also have a blown disk in lower spine. I am 71 years old and outside of the pain issue, I am pretty healthy. The only med I am required to take is Synthroid. I have recently been experiencing pain that seems to be related. It starts along the outside of my right wrist, extends to the heel of the hand and terminates in the middle finger. The finger seems swollen a bit, and is very painful.

1943833 tn?1349280189 I have wondered often over the last few years if I have Fibromyalgia, but have never asked a doctor about it because I don't seem to have the tender points. I'm wondering how many of these symptoms are "common" for fibromyalgia. Or maybe CFS? -occasional severe sensitivity to noise. I can be sitting in a room, with people around me and noises I would normally not mind (kids playing, etc) will "hurt". I don't really have a headache, and it's not an actual pain.
Avatar f tn hey thanks for responding to my question. My husband does the Acupressure boy does that hurt I do have several hot spots and it does hurt but feels much better when he is done but where my leg and hip meet it always hurts. Avatar n tn Fibromyalgia pain is associated with specific widespread pain at so called 12 or 13 tender points. Fibromyalgia is characterized by pain in specific areas of your body when pressure is applied, including the back of your head, upper back and neck, upper chest, elbows, hips and knees. The pain generally persists for months at a time and is often accompanied by stiffness. I would try acumpacture, exercise, hyponotherapy, and homeopathy.
