Fibromyalgia pain in hands and feet

Common Questions and Answers about Fibromyalgia pain in hands and feet

fibromyalgia

Avatar m tn ve read that fibromyalgia is known for the burning feeling especially of feet and hands. I imagine this is nerve pain so there is also something called erythmelagia. This is often in the feet though but can also show in hands but usually they are red too. It involves the sensory nerves. Here's some information on fibromyalgia to read over in the mean time and let me know what you think.
Avatar f tn Hi everyone, I have Fibromyalgia and my doctor is great, but since the begining of this week have a pain in may hands, first my Left hurts more than the Right and even the top of my Right foot also my hand was swollen and now is going away and my Left start with the same pain, right now is swollen. Avatar m tn I suffer Fibromyalgia and recently been having a great deal of pain, tenderness and discomfort in my hands and feet. Is this related to the fibro or could it be something else?
Avatar f tn Ah, I see limbo land now. It doesn't show up in the forum directory. My you are going through a lot! I googled more the past day adding in the random pains and Fibromyalgia came up as having tingling limbs. In fact, I have many of the symptoms but was completely dismissing that because I don't have overall pain but then I found this "For some people with fibromyalgia, the pain comes and goes. The pain also seems to travel throughout the body.
Avatar f tn m also sorry to hear about your pain. I also have fibro (as well as other chronic pain issues) and I do also get pain in my hands and fingers, however, I do also have arthritis in my hands, so I'm not 100% sure how much of the pain is fibro pain and how much is arthritic pain. It IS typical for fibro pain to be worse in the mornings, so that part of your pain description is not surprising to me for fibro.
Avatar f tn Hi and welcome, In short yes, people have been previously dx-ed with other conditions before being dx with MS eg fibromyaligia etc. Though "I have tingling (pin & needles) in my feet going up my legs and hands. " would not actually be typical for MS because of it being 'all' peripheral's and MS would more typically present unilateral sx's.
Avatar m tn I read of a few people with Neurological symptoms, Peripheral Neuropathy maybe, who had swollen hands and feet/ankles. paresthesia. numbness. slight loss of vision and other issues. I never heard of swelling being a typical feature of Fibromyalgia. consider that Fibro. is barely a defined clinical condition, basically only a collection of patients with similar symptoms.
Avatar n tn When I get hot and swelling in the feet and hands (with it being hard to walk on them) it's from chemical exposure (to something no one else can detect). Also,, if I overdue the exercise for a while after. I'm going to guess it's either something changed in your environment or something in your intake (vitamins, foods) unwittingly. I also remember getting a swelling and hard to walk problem when I started OPC (grape seed extract).
Avatar n tn i have sharp pain in my legs feet hands shoulders and neck that came on about 3 days ago it goes away with motrin, but as soon as the motrin wears off it comes right back what could these symptoms be...
Avatar f tn neck, shoulders, upper back, lower back, hips, chest, breast bone (especially to the sides of it), left arm, abdomen Muscles are tender when I touch them, especially arms and thighs Hypoglycemia Weight Gain I've had heart tests, stomach tests, blood tests. Nothing shows up. I'm getting very frustrated and discouraged! Does this sound like it could be fibromyalgia?
Avatar m tn ve noticed his hands and feet are often cold and at the moment he gets dizzy and nauseous which only improves when he is lying down. We've been to the docs again today and he has agreed to do another endoscopy and he thinks the meds he is taking should improve the acid reflux and wants to investigate further. The meds he is on is omeprazol (tried stopping this yesterday as it can cause nausea) and stemetil to help with the nausea.
Avatar f tn long-term, body-wide pain and tender points in joints, muscles, tendons, and other soft tissues. Fibromyalgia has also been linked to fatigue, morning stiffness, sleep problems, headaches, numbness in hands and feet, depression, and anxiety." On the other hand though, it can occur in your 20's. I was diagnosed after years of pain when I was 25.
Avatar f tn With small fiber neuropathies, symptoms include burning, tingling, or buzzing or other vague symptoms starting in the feet and hands then in some cases spreading to other parts of the body. The EMG/nerve conduction studies (NCS) (tests done to check for neuropathy) will not show an abnormality, and a definitive diagnosis can only be made with a skin biopsy so that the number of nerve endings can literally be counted.
Avatar n tn I am a 34 year old woman with pain in my hands, feet, elbows, and shoulders. My hands are almost always swollen and now other joints are starting to swell. I am having trouble closing my right hand. I have tremors in my left hand as well. I have been tested for Rheumatoid arthritis and Multiple Sclerosis both of them were negative. What can I do to find out what this is. I am frustrated and feel all alone in this.
Avatar n tn I have had fibro for 15 years or so, symptoms started after my hysterectomy. I have been on many different meds but worked the best was the duagesic 3 day patch. Of course it is a narcotic so when I moved and went to a new dr. they took me off from it. Haven't found anything that works very good yet. I do go to the chirpractor often and doing whatever stretches you can helps. I get very sleepy and exhausted for no reason, so if I need I will take a nap during the day.
Avatar n tn I have experienced pins and needles in my arms, hands legs and feet for over 10 years, with pain in my neck and shoulders. More recently I am now experiencing headaches around my eyes, and eye problems, inparticular, sore eyes and aching. I have been examined by 2 separative eye specialists who say they cant find a problem?? Anyone else experience eye problems with their condition? Avatar m tn I am currently going through a problem where I am having significant swelling in my fingers, hands, ankles and feet and my tests arent' realy coming back as arthritis. I have been looking at this web site http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ and am going to ask my doctor to switch me to the Armour natural thyroid meds to see if it helps. You are on the synthetic as well. Good luck with everything!
Avatar f tn I have been experiencing total hand pain for a couple of years in episodes that last 10 days to two weeks and then subside. The pain reminds me of being a child and playing in the snow for a few hours then coming in and running warm water over my hands. It causes an aching that involves the entire appendage~bone, muscle skin, joints.... As well, I share your feet issue. By 4:00 or so I can hardly walk my feet and lower legs hurt so badly. Sounds like we are in the right place for answers.
