1399618 tn?1286469531 Could it be that some nerve is again relevant to his pain or are these actual signs' of fibromyalgia. I would love to help him. I myself have back issues' which I was supposed to have operated on (didn't) but I myself dont' have the symptoms he does. Other than my legs going numb and some joint pain, however I also have psoratic arthritis and psoriasis which I use Hemura for and it works for me for the most part. Any suggestions, help would be so greatly appreciated.
Avatar m tn My son is 14 and has been suffering for a year. Symptoms started with very bad chest pain but all blood results came back clear. An endoscopy revealed mild acid reflux. After the endoscopy we were given the diagnosis of chronic fatigue / fibromyalgia . Having been initially relieved that we finally had a diagnosis we are now starting to think differently. Once you have been tarred with this brush it would appear the doctors are not interested.
Avatar f tn neck, shoulders, upper back, lower back, hips, chest, breast bone (especially to the sides of it), left arm, abdomen Muscles are tender when I touch them, especially arms and thighs Hypoglycemia Weight Gain I've had heart tests, stomach tests, blood tests. Nothing shows up. I'm getting very frustrated and discouraged! Does this sound like it could be fibromyalgia? My only "tender spots" that react for me are my elbows, hips and inner knees (not as painful as hips and elbows).
4861077 tn?1360159739 Your doctor will be able to prescribe an antidepressant and a narcotic analgesic that are effective in relieving the pain in individuals suffering from fibromyalgia. Nonsteroidal antiinflammatory drugs are also advised in certain instances. Make sure you get plenty of rest so that you do not get overtired. Some moderate forms of exercise like aerobics will also help with regard to the stiffness. Acupuncture, yoga, massage therapy and magnetic therapy may also be useful.

1033336 tn?1252509731 Following then onwards, I have experince pain trobbing at the back, in between the joint of knees, in between the hip joint, upper and lower both of the legs, at the joints of the arms, in between fingers, at the palm of hands and feet. Avatar f tn Sleep is essential especially for fibromyalgia or any type of pain. If you can get 6 hours minimum you can better deal with the pain. Have you ever had a sleep study? I requested one and I have sleep apnea. I also take trazadone. It is an older sleep medication that is taken at bedtime. You and your doctor can decide if taking something would help. To me your top list would be your headaches, not sleeping and pain.
1168938 tn?1327157832 I have many issues and asked rheumatologist if I could have fibromyalgia, she said I don't fit criteria what do you think? Joint issues, muscles pains, sleepless nights, depression, cognitive issues, brain fog, always tired, IBS, Gerd, cramps in hands, hips and feet, temperature varies from boiling hot to cold, weakness in muscles and twitching, difficulty walking I'm unsteady on my feet and that's just a few of my symptoms.
Avatar n tn I have recently started taking 150 mg of Lyrica for nerve pain and Fibromyalgia. I can hardly believe it, but it is very helpful in relieving my nerve pain. The only problem is that my brain is effected by it. It has become very difficult to express myself verbally. I find myself searching for simple words. Is there something I can take along with Lyrica to help my foggy mind?
Avatar n tn Hey frog1703, Welcome to the forum. Ask your doctor to have your Tartaric Acid levels tested. It is usually very elevated in in most FMS patients that experience significant muscle and joint pain. Elevated PMS pain is often indicative of high Tartaric acid levels as well. Tartaric acid interferes with the Krebs cycle which is your major energy producing cycle and is a muscle toxin. Also, if your doctor is not a LLMD (lyme literate medical doctor) do a search and find one asap!
3795221 tn?1348163075 I have a constant migraine and back pain. My hands and feet are numb with bursts of electricity. The Rheumatologist prescribed Flexeril, Ambien and told me to go to a psychiatrist. I made an appointment with a psychiatrist a week ago and have since researched him online. Most reviews talked of how they were strong-armed into hospitalization and put on Suboxone, which seems to be his cure all for his pain clinic.
Avatar n tn Hi, I haven't heard about hot hands, but I do know some experience Raynards ( cold hands). But definitely low thyroid is a cause of fibro. So treating it is the first step. Armour seems to work better in fibro because it treat both t3 and t4. But swelling in the extremties is a symptom of fibro.
551343 tn?1506834118 Hello my name is fibromyalgia The bringer of fatigue, depression and neuralgia Yes i'm the one that's ruining your life Because i have now taken over your wife Do you hear her crying out in vain Begging for someone, anyone to take away the pain Always moaning at you in that whiney tone Ranting and raving at you even on the phone Have you noticed that she doesn't seem all there That the plughole is full of her lovely long hair That her fingers swell and stiffen when she peels the spuds she's forg
Avatar f tn Many individuals with other liver diseases do not suffer the pain seen in hepatitis C. And there is a high prevalence of fibromyalgia in hepatitis C patients; this is important for clinicians to appreciate, as the recognition of fibromyalgia in patient with hepatitis C will prevent assumptions of pain being due to liver disease—and perhaps allow for a more focused and correct treatment approach.

Avatar n tn (2nd posting sorry I posted in the wrong spot at first) I don't know if I have fibromyalgia so maybe you can all offer some advice. I am 36 year old female. About 8 weeks ago I noticed my left arm was difficult to drive with and it really struck me as beign strange. It felt heavy. I thought it felt weak but looking back 'heavy' is a more accurate term. I went to my dr. who sent me to a neuro. By the time I saw the neuro I was conviced that I had ALS. Convinced.
Avatar f tn Hi, I am wondering if fibromyalgia can be missed for years before being diagnosed? When I was a kid up until now I have always had muscle pain. Charlie horses, cramps, tingling in my feet & swelling. No doctor ever said anything to my parents or me. Now I'm 34 haven't been able to work for the last 4 wks due to muscle pain, cramps so bad I'm unable to walk, confusion so bad it interfered with my work, my immune system is basically null & void.
709619 tn?1230165075 Do people with fibromyalgia experience attacks similar to MS that last for a week or so and then subside with more mild symptoms, or is it a chronic condition? And are the painful areas always sensitive to touch? I've been dealing with something that feels neurological in nature and I'm working with my neurologist on eliminating certain conditions. I have thus far eliminated two conditions that resemble the symptoms I've been dealing with i.e., ALS and B12 deficiency.
Avatar f tn Can fibromyalgia be the cause of my symptoms that cycle (recurring fevers, rash, fatigue, pain, blurry vision, and numbness in hands and feet)? I've heard of it being a factor in regard to fatigue and pain, but am unsure about vision, rash, numbness, and especially fevers. Also, I have been diagnosed with MGUS and genetic testing showed a variant in the MEFV gene. Is there any correlation between those diagnoses and fibromyalgia?
Avatar n tn I am only 25 and have all the symptoms of fibromyalgia, CFS and MCS. I am unable to get out of bed some days but because of my young age my doctor is not seeming to take me seriously. He tests my thyroid and iron levels and many other things, but has not sent me to a fibromyalgia specialists. Also I have not been able to get disability cheques, so I am on government assistance:(. Does anybody more experienced have any advice for me? This can be quite stressful.
5586759 tn?1370438872 I've had Fibromyalgia since I was a teenager and I have gone through one pregnancy already, but at the time I hadn't been diagnosed properly for the ailments that I have. It's now round two, I am pregnant again, and I'm wondering about good suggestions to help maintain lower levels of pain. Last time I was put on bed rest at 8 1/2 months and that was torture for my sciatica nerve. I'm trying to stay active and strong. I've been going through physical therapy and things of that nature.
1839746 tn?1318550406 I am suffering from fibromyalgia for the past 7 years & recently underwent OZONE treatment for both fibromyalgia & disc bulge in L3,L4 & L4,L5. 434278 tn?1324709825 My body lays down extra fascial tissue which creates more pain. I think for fibromyalgia there are certain pain points that must be tender in order to be diagnosed. Otherwise I would think they feel very similar.
