Avatar f tn Hi "K"! Oh my! I can sense the emotional pain you have locked inside you. This is totally bizarre! It "came" to me when I first read your original post, however,I didn't mentioned it, fearing that you might think I'm "off the wall" or something. Earlier this year, my younger brother passed on as well as my mom. I'm very spiritual myself-not religious- but I'm now at peace with their passing. You must find a way to unleash what you're holding inside you.

1550149 tn?1340004330 Some experts believe that fibromyalgia does not lead to poor sleeping patterns, but that sleep disturbances come first, precipitating many cases of fibromyalgia pain. In one study, healthy volunteers reported fibromyalgia-like pain after they had been subjected to disrupted deep sleep. Disturbed sleep appears to trigger factors in the immune system that cause inflammation, pain, fatigue, and a decreased pain threshold.
Avatar f tn Is there a connection between fibromyalgia and the ability to manage dental pain during procedures? I had to have some cavities taken care of last week - the dentist had to do four rounds of novacaine in addition to the topical analgesic and it had no effect on the nerves. He even gave me the maximum amount that could be administered. I'm also curious if there is a link between tooth decay and fibromyalgia.

1376367 tn?1319230027 I have been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and 5 weeks ago had a complete hysterectomy because I had a large cyst on my left ovary. Over the last year and a half I have less energy and more pain. The surgery I had was directly related to having bacteria in the body and causing the cyst and pain and fatigue along with a host of other symptoms. I asked my doctor to try doxycyline for a trial on the Fibro as I am going to the Fibro and Fatigue Center in Seattle, Wa. Feb. 22, 2011.

5757419 tn?1373701912 What are some ways to deal with fibromyalgia pain? I mean the pain is always present, what are ways to minimize it?
Avatar n tn The short answer is yes very likely . Stress induces muscle spasms-physical and emotional stress- Pain causes the body to go into a "bad posture" position. Should this take place multiple times a day, it creates the perfect conditions for muscle spasms. Add emotional distress-caused by all the physical suffering plus everything else that goes with mentally dealing with chronic disease- and you have enough causative factors to explain the severe muscle spasms.

As far as Fibromyalgia pain disappearing after the virus leaves a persons system, I would have to say most likely not, unless the pain is actually coming from hormones or the virus itself, so I suppose it's possible.

Avatar f tn Many of those already suffering from the pain of fibromyalgia also suffer from myofascial pain syndrome. Myofascial pain syndrome is another form of chronic pain that can affect the entire body, particularly the face and jaw. Myofascial pain can add to the already annoying symptoms of fibromyalgia, and can contribute to disability and a poor quality of life if not diagnosed properly. I have had fibro for years and most likely also have MPS as well although not diagnosed.
1534024 tn?1294249675 Hello, I am a white female, 28 years old, and I have a pain that goes all the way from my head down to my legs. It feels like a stretching pain....like when you stretch and stay in the position long enough for it to hurt. So it would feel as if there was someone on one side pulling me from my head and one on another pulling me at my feet and stretching me out.

Then we go for the 36 hours again. The pain has alot to do with it. It involves my neck, shoulder joints, elbows and hands. My hips and tailbone, my knees and ankles and the underside of my feet.
Avatar m tn Hi loops5, I'm sorry to hear you are now one of us. I was an RN when I had a car accident which started my FMS and that was 30 years ago. They called it fibrositis back then. I now also have CFS and CMP. So, in my long experience with this, I wanted to throw out a few things you may not have heard. There is sometimes a co-existing condition with FMS called Chronic Myofascia Pain (CMP). Fascia is a sort of connecting tissue that holds everything in your body in place.

Avatar m tn Any reputable Hypnotherapist would be able to facilitate re-programming in the subconscious, to effectively deal with chronic pain issues, any emotional imbalances from the past and from the day to day dealing with difficult medical conditions. Where about do you live in Vancouver Island? I love the energy from the island's nature and the ocean. And the fish! Avatar f tn I've previously despite being overweight been fairly active with swimming or walks, or yoga but have been in far too much pain to do anything lately. I've had severe back pain that is being treated by a chiropractor, but its really slow going.
