1565420 tn?1304572548 I take Remeron for depression along with a low dose of Lyrica and Trazadone for sleeping. I do know that once the depression was under control that I could handle the pain and issues much better. I'm thinking of getting off of it but scared to mix things up since I've got the fibro managing pretty good right now.
Avatar f tn Many individuals with other liver diseases do not suffer the pain seen in hepatitis C. And there is a high prevalence of fibromyalgia in hepatitis C patients; this is important for clinicians to appreciate, as the recognition of fibromyalgia in patient with hepatitis C will prevent assumptions of pain being due to liver disease—and perhaps allow for a more focused and correct treatment approach.
646598 tn?1223708455 I took Celexa for quit a while for fibro and other conditions. I think it helped a lot. My dr perscribed it for pain, not for depression. That should be noted in dr's chart notes, so you don't get labeled with depression. Good luck, hope it helps you.
636136 tn?1228644380 Hello Tish and welcome to MH. Anxiety is a common problem in fibromyalgia and contributes to pain, muscle tension, and irritability. It can make depression and insomnia worse. Various medicines including antidepressants and muscle relaxants treat anxiety. Benzodiazepines such as Klonopin, Ativan, and Xanax, are commonly used medicines. These medicines also cause sedation and thus can improve sleep.
Avatar f tn What's important is that pain can set off depression and that depression can worsen a pre-existing neurological disability. I know that with the severe tardive dyskinesia I have and what they are identifying as tardive psychosis, within episodes of tardive akathesia it creates an automonic condition where anything can set me off into a rage and if I supress (not "control" as it is physical) the motor agitation I go into a dissociative state.
Avatar f tn I do have fibromyalgia but the pain didn't feel like this until the last couple of months. I seem to be getting weaker, more joint pain and the deep prickly pain. Can't bare to stay in bed in the morning because it hurts to just lay there.
Avatar m tn or does it have to have compression and what is the difference ? solve my delemia and I owe you my life. Depression sitting in and I am losing myself in pain.
Avatar f tn I am curious if anyone else has ideas on which medicines work better for pain. I also suffer from depression and anxiety issues. I also have difficulty sleeping, I feel so alone, because neither my family or friends understand my problems. They think I do not really have medical problems. I appreciate if anyone replies! Thanks friends!
Avatar n tn my mom just started taking cymbalta its an antidepressant but it seems to help her pain. i am not sure if its been approved for fibromyalgia but her dr had read a few articles about how it might help so he told the insurance company it was for depression caused by her pain so they would be sure to cover it. if your current dr isnt up to date with treatment options i would go to someone else. good luck!
Avatar m tn Past research has implied that depression was actually the true source of the fatigue and pain of fibromyalgia. But a new study has detected brain abnormalities in fibromyalgia patients. So while these new findings may not be a cure, they're sure to give peace of mind (and no small sense of vindication) to any fibromyalgia sufferer who's gotten a skeptical look from his physician.

Avatar n tn One month terrible lower back pain, other days stabbing pains in my legs and arms. Right now, for the past month or so I have terrible upper back pain. Is this Fibromyalgia again? Motrin seems to help a bit but I do not want to become dependent on this. I am a mom of 3 teenagers and want to feel better for them.
Avatar f tn What do you do to help with the pain? Or to help stay positive. My anxiety and depression have gotten much worse because of things and I am just looking for ways to cope..
1290770 tn?1272075535 Why do you say you're a self proclaimed hypochondriac? As for the cymbalta, I took it with no problems & iI have a very long history with bipolar disoder & depression. It didn't make me feel any more suicidal than I had before. The suicide risk is typically higher for teenagers who take the antidepressants. As for continuing the yoga, go for it. Moderate exercise is beneficial for fibromyalgia.
Avatar f tn I do not know what else I can do to figure out what is wrong with me. Being in pain for so long sets you into a deep depression, a 22 year old should not feel this miserable.
Avatar f tn I have severe Fibromyaliga pain mostly in my back between my shoulder blades. The pain is so severe that without treatment I would need a wheelchair to get around. I've been taking Tramadol 100mg for 3 years but its slowly losing its effect and I'm finding my pain getting worse again. So I am now looking for either an entirely new medication or something I can take on top of the Tramadol to help ease the pain.
Avatar f tn Fibromyalgia is caused by infectious mycoplasmal bacteria. search www.immed.org and look for AI illnesses.
Avatar m tn I had a major episode of clinical depression many years before developing fibromyalgia, and many other people with fibromyalgia have also had bouts of depression, But I never have felt as stressed or as panicy as I have since developing fibromyalgia. It is quite possible to work out strenuously with fibromyalgia, but that can be counter-productive.
