Avatar n tn A satellite myofascial point is a highly irritable spot in a muscle that becomes inactive because the muscle is in the region of another trigger pain. The pain of fibromyalgia is generalized, occurring above and below the waist and on both sides of the body. On the other hand, myofascial pain is more often described as occurring in a more limited area of the body, for example, only around the shoulder and neck, and on only one side of the body. Take care and regards !
Avatar n tn Although there is no cure for fibromyalgia, home treatment can relieve some of the symptoms. Fibromyalgia pain is muscle pain and the most important therapy for muscle pain is regular, gentle and low-impact exercise. It keeps muscles conditioned and healthy and decreases the amount of discomfort. It is very important to try low-stress exercises such as walking, swimming, water aerobics, and biking rather than straining exercises such as weight training. Heavy exercises worsen the symptoms.

Thanks friends!

Symptoms of vit D deficiency are: calf muscle & feet pain cramps in feet & legs muscle weakness waddling walk bone pain & weakness fatigue insomnia tingling in extremities diarrhea depression heart palpitations confusion/unorganized I know when the symptoms are flaring, I have to be careful NOT to push myself. Even when I've got a million things on my "to do" list. So the plan would be to exercise when your symptoms are not so bad.

Disturbed sleep appears to trigger factors in the immune system that cause inflammation, pain, fatigue, and a decreased pain threshold.

This Psychiatrist crap is another reason to get away. With all pain at all levels comes depression. The more severe the flare the more depressed. Be your own best friend and track your levels everyday for about 45 days until you get a feel for when that "pain flare" is close and reduce activity the next day.

And there is a high prevalence of fibromyalgia in hepatitis C patients; this is important for clinicians to appreciate, as the recognition of fibromyalgia in patient with hepatitis C will prevent assumptions of pain being due to liver disease—and perhaps allow for a more focused and correct treatment approach.

Avatar m tn I've also experienced some numbness in my fingers, and occasionally the lips. I'm just fed up of feeling exhausted and in pain. I can deal with the depression but the physical symptoms are terrifying me, so any help would be much appreciated. (Doctors seem unable to diagnose me with anything physical) I should also add I've had no fever. My question is essentially, does this possibly sound like Fibromyalgia, and can that be caused by my depression?

Avatar f tn I recently went to my doctor for treatment of severe muscle and joint pain. I was also experiencing extreme fatigue, mental fog, depression, and insomnia. After having multiple x-rays, MRI's. and nerve tests over the years, I strongly suspected fibromyalgia.(I was even tested for Rheumatoid Arthritis 11 years ago when I had my first experience with these symptoms.) Upon examination, I did have almost all of the tender points. However, the surprising results were in my bloodwork.
