Common Questions and Answers about Fibromyalgia natural treatment

fibromyalgia

Avatar m tn It is a Rheumatologist who you must see for a fibromyalgia diagnosis and if positive, consequent treatment follows, prescribed normally by the Rheumatologist. There is no effective standard medical treatment for fibromyalgia other than symptom management, by the way. The suspected side-effects of the acupuncture cannot be attributed to the treatment itself, as it cannot be verified. Those " strange" side effects could be easily caused by stress alone.

Avatar f tn I hear that some women with fibromyalgia go into remission while pregnant. May have something to do with the increase in hormones, particularly progesterone. Progesterone has a calming effect on the body and is good for pain relief. Some people are even using natural progesterone cream for fibromyalgia treatment. I don't now how far along you are in your pregnancy, but maybe the pain will get better.

Avatar m tn I had only once tested my hbsag quantity since my diagnosis two years ago. The test was done a few weeks ago and came out about 17000iu/ml. In other words quite high, that should warrant treatment immediately, in my opinion, though my dumb doctors won't put me on treatment yet. 458072 tn?1291415186 Hi Peggy! What natural supplements have you been trying? I was on HRT for four months (hot flashes, anxiety) before I quit cold turkey in mid- December because I was having horrible pain in my breasts, hips and knees. Within two weeks the hot flashes were back, and seemed worse than ever. I started looking into natural alternatives, and like you, was turned off at the prospect of having to wait three months, hoping for improvement.

Avatar m tn I have been told for 3 years I have Fibromyalgia along with osteoarthritis in many areas; osteoporosis (I have lost 2 and l/2 inches in 3 years; fracture mode; every medicine I had been put on has been problems and I have been taken off all for Fibromyalgia, osteoporosis, and arthritis. Now, my right eye is getting fuzzy, not every day, but more days all the time. My doctor has said although I need back surgery, be careful doing that because it will possibly make your fibromyalgia worse.
