Fibromyalgia medication depression

Common Questions and Answers about Fibromyalgia medication depression

Avatar n tn Here are some of the treatment options - Lyrica, Cymbalta, and Savella are the only three drugs approved by the U.S. FDA for the treatment of fibromyalgia. Lyrica is an antiseizure medication, while Cymbalta and Savella are antidepressants. All three have been known to reduce the pain of fibromyalgia significantly.
7450908 tn?1390999921 I was diagnosed with fibro about 18 years ago. I've been using Lyrica & was using Cymbalta for a while as well. I quit using the antidepressant because it seemed to make the depression worse. I'm on low income & I'm telling this medication is getting so expensive that I have a hard time affording to buy just a months worth at taking one a day. At certain times of the year I have to take more than one a day. Is there a more natural way to deal with fibro?
Avatar f tn Does anyone who has been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia know of the best medication to take to help relieve the discomfort associated with this disease?
Avatar f tn I am going to because the research for the medication will be over in June and I will not be on any medication, they alter you inside, not my style.

Avatar m tn Duloxetine is the generic for is used for anxiety and is also used for nerve pain in patients with arthritis and fibromyalgia ,etc....hope this helps you out some....
Avatar n tn If it becomes bothersome, I would defenitly talk with your Doc about changing the Medication. Other than depression, Cymbalta is more used in treating Fibromyalgia or Diabetic Neuropothy pain. It is not so widely used in chronic pain such as yours. The host of side effects it comes with is also a concern to me..Some of which include suicidal tendencys. Be sure to read your medication guide and I would discuss the headaches and ringing of the ears right after the Holiday.

Avatar n tn She said I will know if the depression has returned, and if I feel I need to go back on anti depressants. As withdrawals can feel same as depression, we have to give it time after we stop. Withdrawal symptoms will come on pretty quickly after we stop, depression rather slower. We will know ourselves what is happening, as you and I did. Your suggestion to wonder502 is a good one.
Avatar f tn Hi all- I am a 27 year old female suffering from a very severe case of fibromyalgia. It has left me bed ridden for weeks at a time and when the flare ups are bad nothing works. I have prescriptions for morphine and oxycodone but on bad days they don't touch the pain. I can't do massages because the fibro pressure points are too painful to be touched.

I have however been off any and all medication for depression for nearly 2 years yet these symptoms just haven't eased at all. The one thing that seems to help with fibro is sleep. I take a benadryll and a melatonin to help me sleep. I'm not saying that you only have lupus. I was also told that all I had was fibro and deep don I knew I had more than fibro. I know people w/ fibro and they have never been as sick as I was.

Avatar n tn i read not too long ago that the fibromyalgia with depression is not a clinical depression--there is a physical cause for it---i asked the pharmacist about it and he told me that there is ALWAYS a physical cause for depression. i have struggled with depression and anxiety for more of my life than i even realized until i got older, learned more and looked back over my life.

Avatar f tn by IngeBose I have suffered from Fibromyalgia now for more than 4 years, and I wonder if and how other people experience the progression of the disease. For me this unexpected journey into the domain of constant pain started in my left foot, then I experienced swelling and pain in my left leg, shortly after in my right leg. I can no longer walk more than 10 to 15 minutes before my legs give out on me.
939964 tn?1288020624 I was waiting anxiously when I heard this medication was very helpful for fibromyalgia patients, and coming to Canada. To my dismay I had all the side effects mentioned for this medication and was told by my doctor to stop taking it. Like Doctor Rajgopal mentioned about medications, I was given amitriptyline which helps me have a good night sleep and I feel more refreshed when I wake up.
