Avatar n tn I can only turn my head to the left so far and I am getting pain and it goes up behind my ear and into my head could this be coming from my fibromyalgia? I have never had it there before. Mostly elbows and knees and shoulder sometimes.
996946 tn?1503249112 Is it possible for fibromyalgia to "settle" in your knees? Over the last 10-15 yrs I first had severe elbow pain, thought it was from carrying my purse and heavy shopping bags, then my pain gradually moved to my feet "ie." plantar fasciatis, had cortisone injections in feet and before that in elbows. Could the pain, dull ache, in any position be caused by sciatic nerve pressure or arthritis or fibromyalgia? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Avatar n tn I have had fibromyalgia for 10 years. This past August of 06 I filed for short term disabilty, then when to long term disabilty. For the last year and a half I have been having a lot of issues with the fibromyalgia. Back in August of 07 I started stumping, loosing my balance and falling. Back in October I fell and broke my right leg. My question is loosing your balace, falling, etc. part of the fibromyalgia.

Avatar f tn I also had extreme hyper reflex and sensitivity to light sounds and light touches, would cause me to jerk. My knees did not need a hammer just knowing the Dr. was heading to the drawer where it was, my lefts would not hold still. I would have to hold one leg while he checked them and he would get clear out of the way.

Avatar f tn For a very long time now I've had pain that feels deep in the muscles of my upper back and shoulders. I've always kinda thought that either something is out or I'm just tense. The past few months the pain is worse and has spread to other parts of my body.
Avatar m tn The other knee I dislocated in HS sports when I was a senior. I am 45 now and I started having chronic knee pain in both knees about 3 months after the knee surgery. The pain has never gone away and I wear knees support braces daily. The past 2 weeks my left shoulder back and chest have started with pain also and then about a week ago my left elbow now has severe pain.
Avatar f tn I hurt all the time. My fingers, wrists, elbows, lower back, knees, ankles. Random pain all over not in my joints. Occasionally I'll get a rash below my knees and from my elbows to my hands. It's not a raised rash, but it looks kind of like rust. Like you can see a bunch of tiny blood vessels below the skin. It does not itch and isn't painful. Sed rate westergren was 23 and my c reactive protein quant was 14. Any advice is appreciated.
Avatar f tn Since then, I have had loose yellow bowel movements, chronic pain in my abdomen, shoulders, knees, feet and hands. Cymbalta helped but caused constipation. With that being said and the research I have done, my question is: Is it possible that I have fibromyalgia? and Is fibromyaligia caused by a mental disorder such as anxiety or depression?
Avatar f tn I have recently been diagnosed with fibromyalgia. I have all the classic symptoms. But one thing I have experienced for a lot of my life is Erythromelalgia. I experience flare ups- I can’t pinpoint what brings it on. My hands get red, hot, itchy and sore. Usually on the palm side and it can travel up into my fingers or down in my wrists. My ears sometimes get inflamed, my scalp along my hairline and behind my ears, and sometimes my knees too. It can last a few hours, to days.
Avatar f tn I currently take Savella (an antidepressant specifically for fibromyalgia) and Vicodin 7.5/750 3x daily for my fibromyalgia pain. As bamabred said, opioids can be very addictive - I did not begin taking opioids for my body pain until about 4 years ago. Before that I had some for migraines, but only took them sparingly. I used OTC pain killers, Ultram, Vioxx (until it was outlawed), etc... When my back pain became unmanageable, my physician sent me to a pain management clinic.
Avatar f tn I have tender points ALL over my body. My Dr says it's not Fibromyalgia. The spots don't hurt unless they're pressed on, then they feel like bruises (but nothing is there) My tinder points don't match the Fibromyalgia points, and I have about10 times the number of spots that are on the picture. Also from knees down almost ALL of the muscles hurt to touch, not just spots) There's no rash or fever that I'm aware of. This has been going on for years. Any thoughts????
Avatar f tn My knees joints are very painful. My doctors has referred me to a rheumotolgist and suspects this could be my diagnosis. One thing that boggles his mind is that my leg pain is not present on a good day until I am lying down for more than 30 minutes then horrible aching begins. My sed rate is also high but RA and Lupus test came back negative. Doew this sound like arthritus or fibromyalgia?
691719 tn?1227460899 Hi, I have similar problems, esp. with the low back. I also have cervical spine issues (2 herniated discs and spinal stenosis). I'm much older than you, but was also diagnosed with fibromyalgia and osteoarthritis in my knees. You said you had a bone scan. I'm not sure what that is, but I just had an MRI of my low back and buttocks area because I can't take the pain. I will get the results next week. Considering your age, I would definitely go to another doctor.

Avatar n tn Hi, I really didn't know where to post on this site. I'm hoping either someone can help me out with my symptoms or someone can tell me which topic/section I should be writing on. I have been to the doc. lots in the past year. I've had a lot of headaches, a lot of, what I think is joint pain.. but all my tests come back negative for lupus, arthritis, etc. and it's extremely painful. It's mostly in my knees, feet and the back of my heels.

Avatar f tn I have been dealing with extreme fatigue and now aches and pains on my knees and low back. Had seen a Rhuemy in 2010, and was put on plaquenil for " connective tissue disorder" for about a year. Helped with hair thinning and other symptoms. Since then, moved and took new job. Symptoms have emerged along with new positive tests- HLA-B27 positive ,Cyclic Citrullinated Peptide Antibody- positive, Creatine Kinase, 147 (high end of normal) and Ferritin very low 8. No word from the Dr.
Avatar m tn I have fibromyalgia and I get horrible pains in my legs (radiates up and down from my knee most of the time) and other places... however I have never found that anti-inflammatory or pain medication to relieve these symptoms. Because there is no physical reason for fibromyalgia pain to occur (no inflammation, weird blood tests, visible damage, etc.) that is often why it is so hard to diagnose and why pain meds and etc. normally do not work on people with this disorder.
527890 tn?1263783127 I saw a new rheumatologist today who discussed Fibromyalgia with me today for first time by any doctor. She stated that she has never dealt with an HIV+ person, POSSIBLY misdiagnosed with RA/AS, and she is going to have to research. I am hoping there is someone out there like me.

Avatar f tn These sound like the initial symptoms of fibromyalgia. This is a common syndrome where one experiences long-term body pain and tender points in joints, muscles, tendons, soft tissues. possible triggers for fibromyalgia includes physical or emotional trauma, an abnormal pain response, sleep disturbances with some of these clinical features like chronic neck or back pain, chronic fatigue syndrome and depression.
Avatar n tn I started researching on the internet about the correlation between infectious diseases (giardia in my case), stress, and fibromyalgia. I am really scared cause i started developing a lof of the symptoms described for fibromyalgia such as fatigue, numbness/pain tingling mostly in my left arm but every now in my legs and right arm also. i also have skin sensitivity around my upper back area which feels like somebody is poking me with acupuncture needles.
