Hello! My left leg is hurting from the knee to the hip. The bend of the leg or pelvic area hurts to walk. I have fibromyalgia. This pain just started about a week ago. I can't sleep on either side. I have to sleep on my back. If I sleep on my back to long it starts to hurt. I was told I have three fibroid tumors. Can they be the pain I am having or can it be something else. The pain is severe!!!!!!! What can I do?
sem to be in pain from head to toe.arthritis is affecting me more -ie pain in left knee as well as,hips and left elbow in addition to already painful r elbow.
nose is swollen(bone)| and have bruising around eyes and today some headaches.face is swollen around eyes and forehead.
have had lumpy tender abdomen for ages yet scans are all clear.
abdomen is also a solid mass as well as lumpy and tender.
My Primary Care Physician suspects that I have Fibromyalgia, and I am not certain. I would like to go to a Dr. who deals regularly with this disease, to be able to know why I have so much pain throughout my body.
I know of one Dr. that I heard about through a patient of his, I overheard her talking about her Fibromyalgia, and asked her who is her Dr. She told me Dr. Elliot Kopp, in Raleigh. I am just not sure who to go to, can you help with that?
I developed frontal thigh pain in both legs after I had a knee replacement in the right knee. I have had an EMG and it showed that the pain was not coming from my spine. The pain is relieved when I am sitting but upon standing or walking, the pain is so severe that I cannot walk. I am only 62 years old and too young to be wheel chair bound. I take meds for fibromyalgia without success and strong pain relievers are not effective.
The other knee I dislocated in HS sports when I was a senior. I am 45 now and I started having chronic knee pain in both knees about 3 months after the knee surgery. The pain has never gone away and I wear knees support braces daily. The past 2 weeks my left shoulder back and chest have started with pain also and then about a week ago my left elbow now has severe pain.

It is a disorder classified by the presence of chronic widespread pain and tactile allodynia(pain even on touching). If there is any deep seated pain in knee then causes of knee pain need to be ruled out.

About a month later my wrists started to feel better, but I started getting the same pain in my ankles, and my left knee. It really hurts alot when I walk or have to lift my knee. My knee almost feels swollen. I have never heard of a joint pain that moves around I am so lost. I am tired of taking Ibprofin and sleeping on a heating pad! I went to my primary DR. He took blood, x-rays and urine, but they all came back normal.
Hi loops5, I'm sorry to hear you are now one of us. I was an RN when I had a car accident which started my FMS and that was 30 years ago. They called it fibrositis back then. I now also have CFS and CMP. So, in my long experience with this, I wanted to throw out a few things you may not have heard. There is sometimes a co-existing condition with FMS called Chronic Myofascia Pain (CMP). Fascia is a sort of connecting tissue that holds everything in your body in place.
The pain can be due to reactive arthritis. One thing you should notice is that when the elbow pain comes—does the knee pain decrease? If yes, then this is migratory polyarthritis and this can be due to Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, rheumatic fever, SLE, Lyme’s disease, sarcoidosis, Whipple’s disease, Henoch-Schnlein Purpura, and bacterial endocarditis. Hashimotos thyroidits is another possibility. It can also be fibromyalgia and or chronic fatigue syndrome.
within the last 3 weeks i have been getting short but extremely intense stabs of pain in my left knee. The pain originates just to the right of the place where docs usually tap to check reflex action. The pain feels like a jolt of lightning almost and last from 5 to 30 secs. t often ow i can maybe take a stroll around my local park , but after im in agony my groins hurt so much i feel like my legs ate going to collapse ... I had x-rays done and was told that my knee looked beautiful (structure-wise I guess) and that I probably had something called Femoral Pain Syndrome or Runner’s Knee. He recommended physical therapy, a knee brace, and said I should be fine in a few weeks. He also prescribed me a six-day dose down anti-inflammatory pack, even though I told him no swelling had ever occurred.
I took my meds, went to physical therapy as instructed, and did my exercises religiously.
I have to say that, going only by what I see on this forum since my SVR in April 2009, one of the most common complaints of residual effects after treatment is joint pain. My physician's diagnosis is arthritis. Maybe I would have gotten arthritis anyway but the fact remains I didn't have any arthritis prior to treatment and I have very noticeable arthritis now to the point where it hurts my knees quite a bit to lift myself out of a chair and hurts going down stairs.
I never know where the pain is going to be when I wake up. It has been so sever in my arm that I couldn't move it, had to take cortisone. Has been in my neck, foot, knee, eyes and finger so far. The finger was the only spot that showed obvious inflammation. I am 63 and I do have arthritis. Any ideas?
I had arthroscopic surgery on my right kneein June of 2014 for arthritic problems. I have had bad pain ever since. Since the surgery I have had cortisone shots that have not worked and physical therapy that provided no relief. I went to get a second opinion and that doctor pretty much blew me off. I have a diagnosis of fibromyalgia so I know I don't necessarily process pain the way normal folks do. I fell two weeks ago, landed on the right knee, and have suffered ever since.
Fibromyalgia. Knee pain and clicking; Fibromyalgia. I feel like finding all new doctors and not disclosing my Fibromyalgia, just so I can get an oppinion not fogged by Fibromyalgia. How do you get a doctor to see beyond the Fibromyalgia, and take other concerns seriously.
ll usually last a few days and go away. sometimes it is accompanied by knee pain (i dislocated my knee cap in high school about 17 yrs ago) And sometimes there is a radiating feeling in my inner thigh. sometimes I have all these symptoms at once or sometimes 1 or 2. a bit before it all started happening I noticed the veins behind my need were getting darker but not bulging. none of the areas feel warm and no redness. on the inside of both knees I have a large cluster of spider veins.
But, I experienced extreme muscle and joint pain after the radiation treatments. I have fibromyalgia with chronic pain and I also took vitamins, etc. The radiation treatments caused my fibromyalgia to become acute. I began taking 1000 units of Fish Oil twice daily and found that after a short time, my pain factor was much, much better. You might want to check with your doctor about taking fish oil. You can buy it across the counter.
For the last 7 weeks I've been suffering with awful back aches (lower & middle), pelvis & hip pain. I also often get a severe muscle ache in both flanks. One knee is swollen & I'm experiencing pain in the tendons around my elbows, knees & thumb. I'm currently on NSAIs but they don't seem to be helping. I just feel awful (oh, and when I move my joints / back make loud clicking noises!).
