fibromyalgia

Avatar n tn headache; dizziness, drowsiness, tired feeling; swelling in your hands or feet; constipation, upset stomach, bloating; dry mouth; sleep problems (insomnia); hot flashes, sweating; weight changes; or decreased sex drive, impotence, or difficulty having an orgasm. As you can see sweating is listed as a common side effect. Some side effects will subside as your system become accustomed to a new medication. I can't guess if that may be true with this medication or with your specific reaction.
Avatar n tn Many conventional medical doctors do not think that fibromyalgia exists. In fact, many patients who believe they have this condition are often derided by their doctors. One reason many conventional doctors do not think fibromyalgia is a “real” condition is that no specific medication is effective for treating this illness. Some medications do help lower the symptoms of fibromyalgia. These include analgesics such as Tylenol and Motrin.

She has seen a rheumatologist (ANA titer is positive), neurologist, infectious disease doctor, and general practitioner. She is extremely fatigued all the time, and suffers from bone and joint pain. She also has a persistent headache, and is now experiencing mood swings and anxiety. She also suffers from chronic abdominal pain.

434278 tn?1324709825 , CTD, Fibromyalgia, Raynauds, Vitiligo, IBS (in the past) and have had Low B6 and low thyroid. I pretty much feel the way you did in your earlier posts. I hope since some time has gone by, that you are feeling better now. Low B6 was a freaky thing! That was the one that made me ITCH, have tinging, numbness, pins & needles, etc. Lots of nerve type stuff. Taking a supplement cleared that right up. Sjogrens will give you that mucus in your throat deal. Do you choke a lot?
4861077 tn?1360159739 Hi all just a quick question I have just been diagnosed with fibromyalgia and live with pain everyday. 5586759 tn?1370438872 Tartaric acid feeds off yeast metabolites, which need carbohydrates to grow and is very prevalent in Fibromyalgia. That's why (in part) it helps when on a low carb diet, since Tartaric Acid is a tissue toxin associated with pain and fatigue as I mentioned earlier. Malic acid supplements can be taken to counter the effects of tartaric acid. Raw unfiltered apple cider vinegar is one of the best food sources, if you can take this. Twice daily, 1T before breakfast and same before lunch or dinner.
Avatar f tn passing only small, pellet -like stools with pain in thighs ( inside ) and back across hips. Sometimes have burning in mouth, esophagus and in abdomen as if I have a lot of acid.. Until I get bm's regulated again, nothing seems right. I suspect that I don't drink enough water may be one cause.---- something that is easy to remedy if i just remember to do it.
Avatar f tn In the meantime, I wonder if using something to temporarily numb your gums would help desensitize them enough to conform around your denture? In other words, rub your gums with an orajel numbing gel let it work for a while and then place in your denture. If you can quiet it the nerve sensation in your gums, maybe it will no longer recognize the denture as causing it. Might be worth a try. Good luck and let us know how you do.
Avatar n tn By the way, I also have a yucky taste in my mouth to go along with the facial numbness. How does your mouth taste?? I sort of have to laugh with that question. I bet you don't have too many total strangers asking you "how does your mouth taste". OH well. Hope I'm not getting too personal.

Avatar n tn I get my words mixed up or use completely the wrong word in conversation. Although I know what I want to say, my mouth seems to lose the message somewhere. More recently I have experienced a sudden loss of sensation in one knee which has grown as a numb patch over the last week or two. Now if I gently touch the inside of my knee along the edge of my knee cap, I get a shooting tingle into the outside edge of my knee.
Avatar f tn I officially have a dx of fibromyalgia and B 12 deficiency, but I continue to struggle with everyday life, with pain and the sx in my mouth, ear and now throat. I do not do well on Western medicine relative to the side effects. Any suggestion where to go? Could it be neurological, cranial nerve possibly or residual gallbladder sx. Your opinion is appreciated.
Avatar f tn - -Put whatever you want to test in your mouth and chew it for 30 seconds. - Take your pulse again. If you find it is faster by 6 beats, you are allergic or have a sensitivity to it. If you have type “O” blood, use 4 beats as the criteria instead of 6. It’s that simple. Hope this helps and should you have any questions pls post again. Take care!
209591 tn?1267418314 Needless to say seven months later my current symptoms appeared and yet to ease off. In October of last year, my Rheumatologist noticed that my Iron levels were really low, in response to this he prescribed a month’s worth of Repliva 21/7, an iron supplement much like the common birth control pills, it has 21 active pills and 7 inactive. After that dosage, my Hemoglobin and Iron levels jumped up. Is it possible for these levels to become deficient again after only 14 months?
Avatar f tn IC and fibromyalgia go hand in hand. Sjorgren's is quite common when you have IC too. I know that if you have one autoimmune disease you are more likely to have another but I'm not sure why IC seems to be connected with so many!
Avatar f tn If you have dry mouth and eyes insist on a lip biopsy for Sjogren's Disease. The overlap in symptoms is very confusion. Both Fibromyalgia and Sjogrens cause short term memory loss, severe fatigue (I often feel that may arms and legs are so heavy I cannot move them and that I am going to sink through the earth.) My sleep patterns are totally off. Good luck!

341042 tn?1244780027 The doctor said that I must have Fibromyalgia, though because of the length of time that I have been in pain. I have to care for a disabled daughter, and I cannot have heavy med's to sedate me. I did not take the med's. Can they stop me from helping my daughter, or can they declare me incompident for choosing not to take these med's? I want future proof of my diagnoises before I say -yes, I have it!
1069644 tn?1276932463 I was in my early 30's at the time. Then in 2003 I was injured in a car accident and had 5 surgeries in less than 2 years. My career was over and I HAD to stop working. The fibro was so out of control! As for it being progressive it all depends on what you doing.
Avatar f tn To this day if a doctor gives me any pill I will research it fully before I put it in my mouth. My family history is very prone to heart desise and the last doctor gave me a pill for headaches that plainly said DO NOT TAKE IF YOUR AT RISK FOR HEART DESISE. May cause sudden death. This was a new doctor that I had been passed to through many trying to diagnose what turned out to be Fibro and Sjogren’s. I hope this helps.
Avatar f tn Ok, so I was recently diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. I am a 25 y/o female with a history of depression and IBS. My symptoms are: 1st I notice serve fatigue. Yawning while doing cardio. Harder to exercise. Went on meds for depression and went back a year later c/o same symptoms.2nd legs turned blue and became heavy. I started getting skin bumps. On my thighs mostly, looks like a white head pimple(never pops) and scars after. No meds have stopped them.
Avatar n tn I had difficulty sleeping the night after the bridge went on, and gradually I developed all of the symptoms of fibromyalgia. Luckly I found a dentist in Hastings Michigan Dr Dan Gole . He is a holistic dentist , who examined all of my muscles and balance for one half hour before he looked at my teeth.
659608 tn?1318292966 What is your recomendation and feelings on using Medicinal Marijuana for Fibromyalgia symptoms? There are so many conflicting articles, it's hard to know the real truth, so a doctor's view point wuld be very helpful.
Avatar f tn He never mentioned Fibromyalgia to me. In fact, nobody has. So on my own I have scoured the internet and searched inner ear pain and fibro. I saw people have experienced this and I felt hopeful that I am not alone in this. I also at times feel like I get a flare up and feel like I have sores ( you cant see them) in my mouth, primarily right sided at the moment. Or a feeling of something caught in my throat. I feel like I am losing my mind and my life over this.
Avatar f tn No, CFT and fibromyalgia are not contagious in any way, shape, or form. As for what your jmother has, do a general search online for your mother's neuropathy, put in all those words for it, and then put "causes," so you can find out what makes that happen to a person, but I imagine age is a risk factor.... but certainly not the conditions you have.
