975514 tn?1325001538 In addition to the community here, MedHelp also offers tools to help you and your doctor in your road to wellness. Fibromyalgia and CFS can be so intricate and can have so many different symptoms. Due to this, it is very helpful that MedHelp offers health trackers for us to utilize. We can track our progress and especially our flare ups. Below are just a few trackers that I find useful. • CFS/FMS Tracker - • Pain Tracker - http://www.medhelp.
Avatar n tn Did you ever find a doctor that treated fibromyalgia? I am in Louisville as well and suffer with FM. I am very frustrated and tired of being in pain. I cannot even get the doctors to give me pain pills. They say that they will not help me. I wish they could feel my pain and know what I go through on a daily basis. Please help.
Avatar n tn you are in Louisville? as in Louisville, KY? that is where I am. what endo do you see?
Avatar n tn My mother is a 45 year old white female who lives in the Ohio valley close to Louisville, we live next to an army base and lived in Germany for about three years in the 1980's (mad cow disease was prevalent at that time in Europe). She has had no major health problems, only a history of tubal ligation, allergy to codeine, and what we believed to be hypoglycemic episodes in combination with a variety of small vague symptoms which i believed to possibly be Fibromyalgia.
Avatar m tn I broke-up my relationship of 3 good yrs.I felt guilty that I was not able to do what couples do like dancing, walking in the park or lake,I just didn't feel right that iI would not be able to work and support them.I really LOVED her and some times if you Love someone, you have to let her go,even though it hurts..I wanted her happy, she still is in my heart. But one must move on.I've been alone since my surgery 2004.
Avatar f tn I've had fibro for over 17years. I'm not sure you understand what fibro is,how it affects your body or how the treatment for it works. Im new to this forum. In short fibro is nerve pain all over your body. Your nervous system is how the body sends messages to the brain, like a train track in the body. The muscles is what sends the messages to the brain, through the nervous system to the brain. The muscles say brain send pain here!
Avatar f tn I am finding I have extreme weakness now, too. Fibromyalgia symptoms. Have difficulty getting in and out of a bath tub or even lowering or lifting myself off a toilet! It's all rather frightening and wondering if anyone has any suggestions or answers as to what direction I should go in here. I want to find relief, as well as be a functional human being again!
163305 tn?1333672171 This is off OH's original topic, but in reference to drs who don't seem to ID HCV symptoms. (Probably needs a new thread of its own) I have been wondering about this for years, they keep saying HCV has few symptoms unless there is severe liver damage, etc., but debilitating symptoms finally led me to two rheumatologists and I was simultaneously dx'd with "fibromyalgia" and HCV....
Avatar f tn "What is your opinion?" ------------------------------------------- In which sand dune has Dr. Koretz had his head buried? I think those affected with cirrhosis and end stage liver disease would beg to differ. I also think that the people who have developed extra-hepatic manifestations and complications from Hep C would beg to differ. And, if they could still talk, those who have died from Hep C and its complications would beg to differ.
280418 tn?1306329510 I remember reading an article about how lyme disease was really on the rise in doesn't it make sense that it would be in NC also? I guess my advice to you would be to educate yourself on it all and give treatment a try. If it works, that means a lot more than one neurologist's opinion about lyme disease. Honestly, I think if they recognized the scope of lyme disease, a lot of neuro's would be out of business.
243614 tn?1266201137 He winds up being tops in the field of Fibromyalgia reseach and treatment at Johns Hopkins. I tried a med, I once used before and its working on my pain and energy. Old friends are coming out of the woodwork!? I guess that's a sign that I will be able to handle the energy it takes to socialize. I'm sleeping! I never thought after the last two or more years of not being able to get out to mail a letter that I would be feeling optimistic.
Avatar n tn Im in Birmingham,AL.Been here all my life.44 years. I am sure as big of a city as Louisville, you will find a pain doc.Ask alot of question and don't take Im not sure as an answer. They make alot of money to know what their doing, sometimes you just have to force the issue.
Avatar f tn "I've had a great many auto-immune problems that have been triggered by the Hepatitis C virus itself, but I am not aware of having any long-term problems from the meds themselves." Did the autoimmune problems arise before or after your first interferon treatment? I have read one article that discusses a few possible auto-immune-type disorders that arise from Hep C alone. I cannot recall it, and I believe it was published prior to conflict of interest disclosure rules.
Avatar n tn I have no moral or philosophical problem with weed, and I indulge in it occasionally myself, but I know it can be harmful to the lungs, esp. in the amounts you're using. Thomas has excellent advice on cutting back/eliminating the Lorcets. I recently went through a prescription of Lorcets myself and was terrified I'd have withdrawals, but I had none at all! I was lucky, I guess, though I was using a small amount for a short time.
Avatar n tn Would you have some testimonies, books or adresses to advice us in order to be updated in the comprehension of these sides effects and their potential treatments ? Any information will really be of great help, With my best regards.
Avatar n tn Open meetings mean anyone can go in. Family, friends, ect. YOu may want to find out where closed meetings are in your area.. I'm going to look up the Thomas Recipe for you and I'll send it in just a few minutes..
Avatar n tn I am on my 3rd day of treatment as mentioned above plus it has rained here in Louisville and I am feeling about 80 % better, this leads me to believe that the problems I am having are caused by allergies. I also feel a little better at night when the seasonal allergies are not as high. We have had a very long dry summer, with the lack of rain; record amount of days in the 90's and the start of fall there has been no relief.
Avatar n tn Was wondering how you are making out i have the same exact symtoms for over 4 years i just had X-rays of my sinus they found systs in my sinus i am goint to see another ent that is a specialist in this field to see what they are going to do.
Avatar n tn ooh, i have the same thing, It stops ya right in your tracks. I was in the store one time walking with a friend, and omg she was like are you ok? i felt like my whole inside tore or something cause the pain was soo sharp. Also just happened earlier as well. I'm scared to go to the doctor! =0| I hope there is some sort of anser for this for all of us, as to why it happens and what it is exactly..
Avatar n tn For the last 6 months I have been getting tearing (look like paper cuts) in my vaginal area (1/4 to 1/2 inch long). I get the tears at least once or twice a week and they last from 2-4 days, go away for a few days and then come back. They continue to occur in the same locations; 1. Inside the vaginal lips on the sides almost always in the crease (between the labia minora and majora?) 2. Between the anus and vaginal opening (perineum) 3. Above the clitoris in the "hood" area.
