470168 tn?1237474845 Many years ago I was diagnosed with Lupus, when I was living in Virginia, and I was on plaquenil back then, and when I moved to Florida, I couldn't get a doctor to agree with the diagnosis and they all said it was in my head, and then I had a doctor in Florida tell me it was fibromyalgia. I was just happy to be told I had something.
1830940 tn?1317934500 He said some people get pain relief by moving or going to Florida and others don't. I know I'm better in the summer than the winter. The humidity doesn't seem to bother me. I am bothered by sudden drastic changes in temperature, and I'm also bothered by cold and dampness. I'm dreading the coming winter. I have found the biggest help with my fibro is exercise. Swimming works best for me. I haven't been doing any exercise lately and need to get back to it. Are you thinking of moving?
1604539 tn?1297803970 After a almost 2 years I still wasn't getting any better I went to a Dr at the Shands hospital in Florida where the Dr said it "was not" Fibromyalgia/Polymyositis and he suggested I return to see my Nerologist for additional testing. My physical self is weak, and my mental health is starting to become a problem since I don't know where to turn and it's not in my head that I don't sleep at night I can't feel my arms or hands at times when the pain is at its worse.
Avatar n tn I need to find a physician in the Central Florida-Osceola/Orange/Lake/Polk county area who is well-versed in the treatment of Fibromyalgia and CFIDS. One who will listen to me and help me. I have been in chronic pain for many, many, many years and have found no relief. No doctor I have seen has seemed to TRULY understand. They must accept my insurance which is BC/BS Federal Employees.
Avatar f tn I remember once a woman in Florida who was recovering from mono. She posted here in MedHelp about having a low vitamin D (after her mono diagnosis). She was confused because she lived in sunny Florida, had a suntan and didn't avoid foods with vitamin D in them. Months later, she posted again to let me know that she was making progress.. and her vitamin D level was back to normal. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. I originally was on the Marshall Protocol and then switched to Dr.
Avatar m tn got angry because I refused the new meds and insisted that I came there just for the antibiotic and something to help ease the pain (tylenol). I'd Lived in New Mexico before moving to Florida, where medical marijuana use is legal. I'd given up all previous narcotics for the alternative. Now in Florida where medical marijuana is illegal, I have to go back to drugs to help ease the chronic pain.
Avatar f tn Hello. I am new to this group. Recently diagnosed at Mayo Clinic (after 3 visits during past 4 months) with Fibromyalgia, Central Sensitization Syndrome, Sjogren's Syndrome, Dysautonomia (Autonomic Dysfunction), Migraines and Joint Hypermobility Syndrome. Today, a local rheumatologist in South Florida said "I don't support disability for fibromyalgia." After I questioned this, she said "never, ever" not even when combined with the other diagnoses and symptoms.
1800611 tn?1315856590 I don't know I live in Sunny Florida and still suffer with Fibro - can't imagine living in a cold climate but heat isn't a magical answer for me.
217229 tn?1192766004 Fibromyalgia, an often misunderstood condition involving widespread muscle pain and fatigue, is characterized by a set of symptoms, but no definitive test exists to "prove" that a person has it. Some researchers suspect that viral illness could be a trigger, for both fibromyalgia and a similar condition called chronic fatigue syndrome.
1968463 tn?1374761413 •widespread pain •muscle stiffness Dextromethorphan treatment may also help to pinpoint the true cause of fibromyalgia syndrome, allowing for the development of new, more effective treatments. How Does Dextromethorphan Work? When it comes to treating fibromyalgia, dextromethorphan works by targeting the central nervous system. For some reason, fibromyalgia patients experience pain sensations that often snowball, becoming very painful.
Avatar n tn During the most severe episodes, the feeling from the two localized parts expanded towards each other, and joined right above the nose. If I was driving in a car, and looked in the rear view mirror, momentarily I would loose my orientation.
Avatar n tn I do compliance for a large pain clinic in Florida. We do in-house tests using EIA (instant-read pee cup... little lines appear telling us whether positive or negative for specific classes of drugs), however those sometimes have false positives. The only way to know for sure is to send it off to an outside lab that can use chromotography to seperate out the drugs. Such a lab, i.e.: AIT or Dominion Diagnostics, can then specify the various levels of drugs and where they might have come from.
Avatar n tn It might be difficult to know but are you exposed to pesticides or herbicides for your lawn or community spraying now that you live in Florida? Or do you live in a home which was flooded and either has black mold or other fungus or possibly was sprayed inside for pests or mold? If you have mold you might consider using diluted clorox and airing out the house very well.
Avatar m tn I saw a podiatrist recently who suggested fibromyalgia or chronic fatigue. She sent me to a foot expert in physical therapy to see if it could be due to problems with my posture or whatever. He found some things to work on (not surprising), with tightness in the hips and some other areas, and gave me some exercises and things including a nerve stretch. He thinks it's neuropathy and doesn't know if the exercises will help.

Avatar n tn it really ***** especially since I live here in South Florida, as it rains ALLLL the time! HUGE tropical storm/hurricane state. I've been trying to research barometric pressure headaches and I've not really found many answers or hope, just hundreds of poor people having similar symptoms. I agree that the symptoms almost seem to vanish after it has rained, and I do feel some relief.
Avatar n tn Hello gang. I'm 33 male, non-smoker, non-drinker, don't take medication unless there's no other way. However, I do eat a very poor diet that consists of lots of fats and sugars. I didn't take multivitamins until this warm sensation began. It had been going on for about two days in the back of my right leg. Sometimes it happens in my hamstring and other times it happens in my calf and runs to the heel of my foot.
Avatar n tn The thinking, which sounds logical to me, is that opiates replace the brain's natural endorphins and the brain stops making them in favor of the opiates. You stop taking the opiates and there's no endorphins waiting in the wings to step in and make you feel OK. So you feel like **** instead. The Lysine is what your brain needs to make more endorphins and other neurotransmitters; the B6 is a catalyst in that process.
585414 tn?1288944902 ), doing passive aggressive or hostile pranks (in the past), self medicating with natural remedies (in the past), drinking large amounts of caffeinated beverages (in the past), overstating my important/thinking I could "change the world", unable to concentrate on tasks but becoming obssessed with something unimportant. Right now I am to the point where I can spot this and catch it before it gets worse. Can you? What happens with you? Can you stop it? And could you learn?
Avatar n tn Forgetting that I first smelled it several years ago I thought that it was left over from many brush fires that we've had in Florida. However, I smell it at work sometimes also. I wonder if any of us have other medical issues in common. I have restless legs syndrome, osteoarthritis, MVP, Barrett's esophagus, eczema. I always have an ache somewhere but seem to have episodes of all over pain.
Avatar f tn I had vertigo actually before I left, and it got worse when I was in florida. Yes I am not going back to the ENT. He is a joke! The tremors started in my right hand for a very long time, and now the left hand is so bad that I cant even hold a icecream cone! It is embaressing. I hope that we can figure this out because I dont think this is all fibromyalgia related. I do also have chronic fatigue. I am also sooooo tired of my balance being so bad! I feel like a swaying clock!
Avatar n tn Sometimes it seems that it comes on later in the afternoon almost routine and then it sometimes happens out of the blue in the morning. I try to change my underwear twice a day and don't wear any underwear at nigh for bed. I'm not sure what triggers this...I know about 2.5 years ago I got a really nasty vaginal infection..Then it was treated and I've been tested for STD's all negative. I sometimes wonder if it came from the boyfriend at that time.
Avatar f tn My dream is to take a summer in an RV and roam around New England all down the coast to Florida. I also love that North Carolina accent. Very easy on the ears. LOL! As for timing on another rescue, that's a tough one because it's such a very personal decision. Right now there's nothing wrong with updating your application or even putting in applications with a couple more rescue groups. That way, when you're ready to adopt there will be no delays.
Avatar f tn The Reba Rage is such a bonus, as it has ruined our daughters 21st birthday, you only get one of those, and he's not sorry. My parents final season in Florida, he has not seen them once. You only get some things one time in this life and this side effect is unforgiving to those who love you.
