Common Questions and Answers about Fibromyalgia in florida

fibromyalgia

Avatar n tn I can only tell you about my own experience. I am a resident of Canada's Yukon Territory. As much as I love the place, the cold is hard on me. I got to spend a short time in Florida the last 2 winters and I found it very agreeable. My husband and I plan to spend 3 months in Florida this winter. I don't know if summer in Florida would be good for me, since really hot weather and high humidity bother me as well.
Avatar n tn I need to find a physician in the Central Florida-Osceola/Orange/Lake/Polk county area who is well-versed in the treatment of Fibromyalgia and CFIDS. One who will listen to me and help me. I have been in chronic pain for many, many, many years and have found no relief. No doctor I have seen has seemed to TRULY understand. They must accept my insurance which is BC/BS Federal Employees.
Avatar m tn I need to find a pain doctor to continue my pain meds in northeast ALabama. I own a home there all paid for but can't live there unless I wanted to be in agony. So I'm stuck renting a place in Florida. FL is my home but I wanted to be able to live in the mtns. For my retirement. So I need a doctor there If you know of any let me know.

Avatar f tn It took me 1 day. I went in to their main office in my area with proof of my pregnancy. A really nice worker said she would expedite my application due to pregnancy & I had a Medicaid number the following day.
Avatar n tn You are young enough hopefully not to be on any other meds, so you can find out once and for all what is causing them. Shands and Cleveland Clinic and Mayo have hospitals now in Florida. Not knowing where you are, I suggest you look them up online and go to the one nearest you. And try to forgive the other docs. Their expenses are above what they can handle now because of insurance companies so they are getting caught up in the results of basically socialized medicine.
Avatar m tn I was bitten by a tick nearly 6 years ago. I live in central Florida and was out with some friends adventuring in the forests that surround central Florida. The next morning I woke up and there was a small black tick attached to my upper leg right where the leg meets the groin. Knowing nothing about Ticks at the time I just removed it (probably incorrectly) and went on with my life. For the next few months to nearly a year after the tick bite would continue to itch.
Avatar f tn I remember once a woman in Florida who was recovering from mono. She posted here in MedHelp about having a low vitamin D (after her mono diagnosis). She was confused because she lived in sunny Florida, had a suntan and didn't avoid foods with vitamin D in them. Months later, she posted again to let me know that she was making progress.. and her vitamin D level was back to normal. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.
Avatar f tn The hope is now patients can be seen in Florida and dont have to travel. Again in the Summer, myself and board membesr will be finalizing this.
Avatar m tn I have my first appt with Infectious disease in a couple of days. I am seeking a new primary, as I went to my first visit with the current one for some antibiotics (I was terribly ill with congestion for several weeks, for the umteenth time).
Avatar f tn Hi, I'm in the UK and moved from London to Bristol a few years back. I have had fibromyalgia for a very long time now but found since living in Bristol (which is near water and has a very high humidity) it has gotten so much worse. Stress from moving definitely hasn't helped as well as other stress. Going on holiday to a warmer climate has always helped, but I guess part of the parcel is the relaxation you get while on holiday.
Avatar f tn I live in Florida but I'm visiting mii siblings in Georgia , I'm 37 weeks nd I'm soooooo ready to go home. Any Florida moms on here??? Or is anybody away from home nd feeling home sick.???
5898681 tn?1392221010 re worried about the traveling aspect - no, you are fine so long as you are not high risk or in need of special assistance. You can fly or drive until sometime in the 3rd trimester, different doctors suggest different dates, but 2nd is fine. I've traveled by vehicle & flight internationally & cross country while pregnant. We are a-okay.
Avatar f tn Is pelvic adhesive disease, endometriosis, IC and fibromyalgia related in anyway?
Avatar m tn do you mind sharing your withdrawal symptoms? The doc who prescibed it was running a clinic in florida and claimed to be able to cure chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia.....he diagnosed me with black mold toxicity and put me on a month of IV therapy....thats why I didn't make the link to my side effects and the lyrica. he claimed I was detoxing from the micotoxins the mold causes. the jury is still out on whether that was really my problem, as all my symptoms are coming back.
507241 tn?1225491785 I am very stubborn and pushed through all of the pain and exhaustion until I could not take it(I am 54 today lol) and said I am not living the rest of my life with this! I saw a Rhematologist and in Florida it takes a 3 month wait as it is such a specialty, and he turned my arm over said yup classic autoimmune then had me look up and said yup you have a blue ring around your brown iris -classic autoimmune.
Avatar n tn Hi Joy, how do u know you have stenosis? Did you have an MRI done on your cervical spine? If you did, you can share with us the findings so we can better help you. Left side only is because your stenosis is probably pinching a nerve on the left side. On the bright side, 4 hours of pain per day is great, that means you have 20 hours per day with no pain. Many of us here would kill for that.
Avatar m tn Narcotics Anonymous has saved my life. Just under 3 years ago I was diagnosed with MS. Now I am in severe pain at times in the legs. What can I take or do to lessen the pain that is not an opiate.
1943833 tn?1349276589 I have wondered often over the last few years if I have Fibromyalgia, but have never asked a doctor about it because I don't seem to have the tender points. I'm wondering how many of these symptoms are "common" for fibromyalgia. Or maybe CFS? -occasional severe sensitivity to noise. I can be sitting in a room, with people around me and noises I would normally not mind (kids playing, etc) will "hurt". I don't really have a headache, and it's not an actual pain.
