Common Questions and Answers about Fibromyalgia in brisbane

Avatar f tn Fibromyalgia, sleep apnea, depression, and arthritis all go hand in hand with the chiari as I have been diagnosed with all of them as well and asked my chiari doctor that question. I take a muscle relaxer for the fibro/arthritis and as for the depression I don't wanna take any meds because I'm hoping decompression surgery would help that (hoping to get my quality of life back) so right now i go to see a psychiatrist once a week.
6506604 tn?1382108472 I have a script for LDN but it's a big drama to get it from Brisbane so I've not worried about it so far. I'll do it when I feel up to it. My TPO antibodies decreased somewhat after taking selenium. There are plenty of clinical trials showing selenium lowers TPOAb although the results depend on the person. 5504286 tn?1369696842 As I said, if I need an MRI of my thoracic spine I'm going to request it be done in Brisbane on a 3T machine. I've read Brisbane also has an MS Clinic, so if this neuro is as hopeless as the last one (a 10 minute consult and quick glance at the MRI) then I might ask for a referral. I generally travel to Sydney (I study through Macquarie University) 2 or 3 times a year, so I could also look there.
Avatar f tn Because LDN clearly halts progression in multiple sclerosis, its use has been more recently extended to other neurodegenerative diseases, such as Parkinson's disease and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS or Lou Gehrig's disease) whose etiology remains unknown but for which there is suggestive evidence of a possible autoimmune mechanism.
422425 tn?1307996590 There is probably spearmint oil in a bottle in GNC or some place like that. I will look for it and see if I can find anything. My dryness stopped after about a year. I only have it a little bit right now. But, then again, most of my symptoms are getting better all over. I am on Plaquenil and that has helped immensely, and have switched to a raw food diet and that helps my thirst. I do have trouble eating brocoli, as it sticks in my mouth and throat. But If I take tiny bites, that helps.
233616 tn?1312790796 It does have profound effects on the thyroid, mine is working agin for the first time in 30 years, and my fibromyalgia is gone.
Avatar n tn I also had a wiggly, twitchy feeling in the muscles there in the upper lft. abd. and into my left side/flank. I have NO nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, or constipation. I have not lost any weight and energetically do not feel sluggish. My oral temperature ranged from 98.8 - 100 F. I also have pain in my left groin that feels like a groin pull and also near the front of of my hip bone.
Avatar n tn So I went back to my doctor and she has booked me into the womens diognostic centre in Brisbane (Australia) to have an ultrasound and mammogram. I am really terrified right now. I have my appointment this Friday! I am hoping by all of the comments on here that this is a fairly common and harmless problem experienced by lots of us...I am hoping that it is just a harmless lump of some description. But with so much news of breast cancer and bone cancer you can't help but worry.
534800 tn?1217170959 Hi, Golfer's vasculitis is a form of vasculitis (swelling of the blood vessels) experienced in the lower legs caused by excessive exercise in hotter temperatures. It is more common among older people. It is called 'Golfer's' due to the large amount of walking done in golf, as well as it being a sport more popular among older people, resulting in greater incidence of the condition. The rash is more common in people over 50.
