fibromyalgia

Avatar f tn Begin by describing where the pain originates from. Then describe the headaches. Explain how you don't sleep. Sleep is essential especially for fibromyalgia or any type of pain. If you can get 6 hours minimum you can better deal with the pain. Have you ever had a sleep study? I requested one and I have sleep apnea. I also take trazadone. It is an older sleep medication that is taken at bedtime. You and your doctor can decide if taking something would help.

Alot of doctors don't take fibromyalgia serious, but then on the plus side alot of them do. I have been lucky enough to find a doctor who takes fibromyalgia completely serious. I live in Kentucky, and I see a doctor in North Carolinia. With the correct treatment, you can feel better. - I hope everything works out. Good luck.

Avatar n tn Sinusitis, refractive errors of the eye, migraine, cluster headaches, brain tumors, high blood pressure, tension headaches, temporal arteritis, pinched cervical spinal nerve, poor or disturbed sleep etc are several causes of headaches. Dental pain and ear ache can cause similar symptoms. It is difficult to diagnose the cause of headaches and body-aches on net. Do discuss this with your doctor and get yourself examined. Take care!
Avatar f tn The medicine I'm on is making it hard for me to get to sleep at night. I fall asleep, but not as easily as I should and then I never reach a very deep sleep. It's like I'm always aware of what's going on through the night-in a very light sleep. Then I'll toss and turn most of the night. Does anyone have any non medication suggestions for sleeping better? I tried Lavender oil last night (On my pillow) and I actually think it helped a little. Any other ideas?

Avatar m tn You might have it in certain parts of your body and can't even be touched. It's my understand that people with fibromyalgia experience headaches and topamax is used to treat headaches. I don't think topamax is necessarily used to treat fibromyalgia specifically but I could be wrong. It's just how it's been explained to me. I can tell you it works. And a fabulous side effect is weight loss smile.... If that's something you need.
209591 tn?1267418314 I take Fiornial/codiene, which helps a lot. I take them when the headaches wake me up, go back to sleep and they are usually gone later. I tried so many drugs for migraine, can't even remember them all. Pamelor I remember, but don't think it helped much. When I got the migraines I would use ice for the first day and then got a steamy towel on a heating pad. It sure felt better, didn't take the migraine away, but I was much more comfortable.

I also have osteoarthritis. I have had it since I was 20. Good luck everyone.
1943833 tn?1349280189 I have wondered often over the last few years if I have Fibromyalgia, but have never asked a doctor about it because I don't seem to have the tender points. I'm wondering how many of these symptoms are "common" for fibromyalgia. Or maybe CFS? -occasional severe sensitivity to noise. I can be sitting in a room, with people around me and noises I would normally not mind (kids playing, etc) will "hurt". I don't really have a headache, and it's not an actual pain.
Avatar f tn I really just want to know if fibromyalgia always comes with headaches, because I don't have headaches. A few years ago, the neurologist who treated me for RLS thought I might have fibromyalgia, as I am so tired. I didn't think anything of it at the time, because I have no headaches.
