Common Questions and Answers about Fibromyalgia headaches cause

Avatar f tn The symptoms don't travel up so if you have tingling in your face and on your head it is something else. A spine issue can cause headaches though as the muscles can spasm in the neck and cause a headache. You may want to get tested for Lyme disease. It can cause most of your symptoms.
358486 tn?1294779988 A good website I read was fibromyalgia-symptoms dot either com or org, I forget. Dr.Abhijeet, what exactly is the cause after surgery? It's unrelenting and literally can ruin your life. There has to be an underlying cause???
Avatar f tn I'm new here and I haven't had a fibromyalgia diagnosis, but I have had muscle twitching all over (mostly in my legs) and that has died down quite a bit, but I've have tired muscles and I have been so tired. I get tender spots that hurt for no reason to the touch. This past Saturday I went dancing and almost didn't make it through the first song, my legs started to hurt so bad. I woke up the next morning and it felt like someone had beat my legs with a baseball bat.
710094 tn?1229312306 I haven't heard of fibromyalgia causing this type of disruption to anyones body. If you are vomiting on a daily basis, you are depleting your electrolytes and could also suffer from dehydration or malnutrition. Any of these could cause problems with dizziness and forgetfulness. It could be contributed to fibromyalgia, but I pray that you are still under a physicians care for your gastric problem because your symptoms could be a result of that as well.

1830047 tn?1321671393 Some people have found artificial sweeteners and/or gluten bring on their headaches. I've tested both for extended periods of time and neither one affect my headaches at all. Right now, I'm mostly only treating symptoms when they occur - anti nausea meds, pain meds, stay in a quiet, dark room, etc., etc. I do sometimes find that an ice pack on the back of my neck will help ease the pain some.
Avatar n tn i was diagnosed with fibromyalgia a few months ago and i've been monitoring some of my symptoms but would like to see if anyone else has the same problems. every month when it's that time of the month is when everything gets the worse for me. my eyes are dryer, skin, mouth everything. migranes flare up, numbness in the face & i have trouble sleeping. it starts right before my period maybe about a week or a week and a half before and ends maybe a few days after the last day of my period.
3202069 tn?1345408082 Part of the problme with the fibromyalgia is I get headaches because of the tension in the muscles in my neck. I was hospitalized a few months ago with chest pains and they said it was because the muscles around my heart were tightening up from my fibromyalgia causing me to feel like I was having a heart attack. I have tried Lexapro, Cymbalta, Sevella, and numerous drugs but to no avail. Diet is the most important. Yeast breads, pizza, sodas and staying away from sugars and alot of carbs.

Avatar n tn I have rescently been diagnosed with chronic fatigue syndrome and fibromyalgia. Both of these diseases cause major headaches and muscle stiffness and soreness. I have not had a cat scan done yet, my doctor is still looking at options for me since I was just diagnosed with these. I haven't found a medication or treatment that has helped yet. I have been on so many different meds that it is ridiculous. But nothing works. So you're not alone!!!
Avatar m tn Way back you posted about trazadone as being a possible cause of tardives dyskinesia. I have taken it for 3 a sleep aid for fibromyalgia & anxiety & it has helped a lot. I can't take Ambien or z-drugs. They wire me & work the opposite just as benadryl does for me, but I am terrified of getting TD or dystonia from the trazadone. How great is the risk? My Dr. told me that in 38 yrs. she has never seen anyone get TD from it & that 50 mg.
Avatar f tn Lyrica, which is used for fibromyalgia, can be used for chronic headaches too. Topamax can cause mental slowing, as you mentioned above. Another cause of mental slowing is thyroid problems, so it may be beneficial for you to discuss having your thyroid checked with your doctor. If you have not been evaluated by a headache specialist (a neurologist specialized in headache medicine) this may be beneficial to you.
Avatar f tn SSD/SSI just called yesterday, they are sending me to a doctor for an eval. in the next couple of weeks. Most Migraines cause light sensitivity (don't have) and blindness in one eye (don't have). Avatar f tn I take oxycontin 20 mg daily, zannaflex for muscle relaxations, ambien, melatonin and seroquel for sleep, synthroid for hypothroidism, I tried the new lyrica and it works for about 3 days and they the side effects such as terrible swelling and headaches are just not worth it. I tried taking the lyrica 3 different times all with the same result. I so frustrated I could scream.
Avatar f tn I know it has to affect my liver, and I don't want to cause liver damage. Is it possible for this to describe Fibromyalgia or something similar, even with how young I am? I have an appt. with my doctor this friday, and don't know how to approach her......
Avatar m tn You might have it in certain parts of your body and can't even be touched. It's my understand that people with fibromyalgia experience headaches and topamax is used to treat headaches. I don't think topamax is necessarily used to treat fibromyalgia specifically but I could be wrong. It's just how it's been explained to me. I can tell you it works. And a fabulous side effect is weight loss smile.... If that's something you need.
Avatar f tn Hi, I am wondering if fibromyalgia can be missed for years before being diagnosed? When I was a kid up until now I have always had muscle pain. Charlie horses, cramps, tingling in my feet & swelling. No doctor ever said anything to my parents or me. Now I'm 34 haven't been able to work for the last 4 wks due to muscle pain, cramps so bad I'm unable to walk, confusion so bad it interfered with my work, my immune system is basically null & void.
434278 tn?1324709825 The pain across the back of your shoulders is very typical of fibromyalgia. It is not uncommon for lupus patients to also have fibromyalgia. The one thing that seems to help with fibro is sleep. I take a benadryll and a melatonin to help me sleep. I'm not saying that you only have lupus. I was also told that all I had was fibro and deep don I knew I had more than fibro. I know people w/ fibro and they have never been as sick as I was.
