Not sure if it would work for fibromyalgia. I have nerve pain from RSD after many hand surgeries. (I also have fibromyalgia.) I did stellate ganglion blocks for the nerve pain and have had varying relief with them. Maybe it's something you could ask about. Best of luck.

I can only describe this type of pain in one way.. I feel like my whole hand is exploding from the inside. It hurt so bad all i could do is roll around on the floor and yell. Hi I have the same pain and have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia. I also think I have myofascial pain as I have read that they can go hand in hand. It would be worth looking up fibromyalgia to see if it matches what you feel. They are not life threatening but very painful and life changing for some. Pain killers don't work for me and I have taken so many in the past that I am sensitive to some. If its fibro rest and relaxation can help.
As an Indian Bride, I was also wearing lot of jewellery and that included “BANGLES” as well. Now something new started, the pain grew on me and entire right hand was in mess. Even a single bangle was like a mountain on my right hand. The pain started to affect my entire right body including my head, neck, leg, thigh, hip and hand as well. In the mean time, I consulted an Orthopedic who gave me 10 injections of Vitamin B and told me that I am suffering from “FIBROMYALGIA”.
My symtoms are cramping and muscle spams so strong that I can hardly walk at times and I am unable to use my left hand or close my hand at times into a fist. They say the inflamation in my lungs is causing the plurisy, my left calf is so tendre to the touch because it is so swollen and sometimes I can't even put a tennis shoe on because my foot is so swollen.
What does fibromyalgia feel like? I am having weird pains in my skin and bones and I'm trying to find out if that is what's happening to me. It is random grapefruit sized sections of skin that ache so bad and are very sensitive to touch and temperature. Sometimes it is a shooting pain through my bone combined with the skin sensitivity, but usually it is just a constant dull ache. Sometimes it is in my hand, like it is right now. Sometimes it is in my leg or my ribs or anywhere.
I had carpal tunnel surgery and a trigger finger release on this hand and finger many, many years ago. I also have pain (some days worse than others) in my knees, hips, lower back, elbows, shoulders and neck. My neck creates a grating sound when I turn my head back and forth. I take a 300 mg. Tylenol 3, not more than twice a day when pain is really bad. I do have a problem with my left eye...pain above the eye, frequent tearing..
my right leg is very painful espically my thigh area but my left thigh dosent hurt at all but the lower part of the right leg is very painful both arms hurt spine hurts middle of my back is very painful my fingers on my left hand some fingers are stiff right hand no stiffness but i do have alot of pain in my hand i thought the pain had to be consistent on both sides of the body ...and my blood pressure keeps going higher and higher ...it started with 129/60 now its 142/80...
A positive ANA does not indicate fibromyalgia. However, fibromyalgia often does go hand in hand with some auto-immune diseases. My ANA was positive one time and negative the next. My rheumatologist continues to test me as there is clearly something auto-immune going on on top of my fibromyalgia. Because of other symptoms he feels it is developing lupus and he is treating me for that and it is helping.
7 weeks of torture. Sudden onset of skin redness with stinging/burning pain when I use my hands (folding clothes, flexing hand, etc.) also happens to feet (when standing, walking, etc.) When I try clothes on it seems to be happening to my entire body. This is a 24 hour condition, if I rest gets better but any activity/movement/touch redness appears with pain. I have also noticed that I've been getting a lot of burning on top of my head and some sinus pressure.
I have had fibromyalgia for the last two years and I started to develop another symptom that is really strange. Since I started exercising again when I wake up in the middle of the night I cannot bend my fingers and my hand is in alot of pain. Usually by morning when I'm moving around more they start to loosen up and I don't have any pain. I do notice when I do any exercise with my arms and shoulders my hands and fingers hurt. Anyone else had this problem?
I have pain on the left side of my neck, shoulder, arm and hand. Latley my hand feels num and cold and my movement is very limited. I have difficulty sleeping with this pain and now had been getting muscle pains in my calves, hamstrings and butt. I am have a hard time getting up from a chair and walking around because of these muscle pains. What is going on??
First it appeared in his toe, then a few days later is hand and arm. Along with the pain comes swelling. He went to see a doctor who gave him a cortisone shot and wrapped up the hand. Another day or so went by and the pain switched to the other hand, he also has been having swollen glands and sore throat. This time the doctor just wrapped up the other hand. What direction should we be looking in. my father in law is 80 but has always been in great health and walks several miles per day.
