Avatar f tn Hi, I am wondering if fibromyalgia can be missed for years before being diagnosed? When I was a kid up until now I have always had muscle pain. Charlie horses, cramps, tingling in my feet & swelling. No doctor ever said anything to my parents or me. Now I'm 34 haven't been able to work for the last 4 wks due to muscle pain, cramps so bad I'm unable to walk, confusion so bad it interfered with my work, my immune system is basically null & void.
Avatar m tn Following a good organic diet for borth migraine and fibromyalgia helps and avoiding stress. I have blackout shades in my home and NO FLOURESCENT BULBS!!! Warm baths are great. I've been watching some research at Stanford and hoping for success there. It's non narcotic and inexpensive. You can catch a youtube film about it by looking up stanford fibromyalgia. Good luck.
7864743 tn?1394869696 It's possible that you are just a little toxic. You might try a green smoothie with parsley (removes chemicals and drugs) and cilantro (removes heavy metals). Add whatever else you want, but be sure to use these two herbs. Take probiotics also. If you have taken antibiotics at any time in the past, you have probably killed off the friendly flora. Stay away from Aspartame (diet drinks and chewing gum). Wishing you the best - please let me know how you fare.
Avatar n tn I have tried all kinds of diet pills, liquids, soups, cabbage diet, banana diet, Dolly Parton Diet, exercise, walking, Phen-Fen, etc.I got the SlimBall ad and thought about trying it but like everyone else it's way too expensive. I know that the best way to lose weight is by watching what you eat and exercise but what do you do when you are unable to exercise or walk?
675329 tn?1297288378 boy o boy do I agree with VintageChicken. Your doctor sounds like a prescription nut!. Do you have a diagnosis? or is he just pulling the names of medicine out of his, ah, er, hat? I must say I've never heard of Gabapentin nor Zonegram. I'm sorry to say I have heard of Topamax-simply no place in Fibromyalgia treatment from every report I've heard, read, seen and made from personal experience. It cripples every mind that I've learned about.
1166402 tn?1303847056 I have been on Remeron and Celexa for a couple of months now for my anixety (no panic attacks). I still have leg, hip and low back tighness. Now I'm getting some twitching and twinges (split second cramps). I've been stretching my muscles in Yoga and got a deep tissue massage. She said my back muscle were tight and could be causing them to press on my sciatic nerve which might explain the leg soreness. But then my leg (posterior) are tight and sore deep inside.
Avatar n tn I am only 25 and have all the symptoms of fibromyalgia, CFS and MCS. I am unable to get out of bed some days but because of my young age my doctor is not seeming to take me seriously. He tests my thyroid and iron levels and many other things, but has not sent me to a fibromyalgia specialists. Also I have not been able to get disability cheques, so I am on government assistance:(. Does anybody more experienced have any advice for me? This can be quite stressful.
Avatar f tn with fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue. I have a neck injury from prior domestic abuse. I am getting worse. I don't know where to turn next to get help. I am frustrated at 3 hours a day I have to do something and then I have to lay down. Anyone know of any more tests to ask for, any new diagnoses? I am on Cymbalta and Percocet 5 mg. I hurt. I hurt so bad. Sometimes it feels like my bones ache. I would love to look up or try your ideas for something to help.
Avatar n tn I take enough because of fibromyalgia. Hopefully I can get some infomation on diet to help with estrogen level. Thank you, Janet This discussion is related to tamoxifin and tachycardia.
Dog I am 32 yrs old & have had a weight problem all my life. I am disabled with Epilepsy, Fibromyalgia, & Degenerative Disc Disease. So I am unable to work out anymore. What can I do to lose weight now?
Avatar f tn Depending on your age, your weight is about perfect as it is. Perhaps you only need to tone your muscles. Exercise can help with that, particularly, yoga and walking.
Avatar n tn I have been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, biopolar II disorder about 2 years ago and recently was diagnosed with hypothyroidism. I'm on multiple medications for all three and in the past two years I've gained between 40-50lbs. It's nuts. I have gone on weight watchers, I watch all my food and track it, I eat healthy and I cannot lose any weight. I'm trying to get some excercise in (treadmill) but my feet and hips are so painful I barely crawl out of bed in the am.
Avatar m tn You can't restrict your calories too much or you won't have enough to live on. 1200 calories is not enough for most people. You need to calculate your actual calorie needs, based on your current height, weight, age and activity level. Talk to your doctor about yoga -- it's moves are very low impact and you have to be aware of how you do them. Yoga centers on building core strength, breathing and relaxation. It can help you build muscle, lose weight and regain lost movement.
Avatar f tn Also, you need to quit smoking if you want to have an effective treatment for your Fibromyalgia. Remember, Fibromyalgia is treatable without side effects but you need to find the right doctor and minimize all stresses.
981885 tn?1248585122 I have been putting up with this pain on and off for a year now and now it is spreading to my shoulders, back, knees and ankles but the pain is most dominate and painful in my ribs. Only one doctor said that it could be Fibromyalgia but he basically said that the pain will come and go for the rest of my life and I will have to learn to deal with it. After hearing that I gave up going to the doctors, but now the pains are getting harder to handle and I would really like help.
Avatar f tn I'm new here and I haven't had a fibromyalgia diagnosis, but I have had muscle twitching all over (mostly in my legs) and that has died down quite a bit, but I've have tired muscles and I have been so tired. I get tender spots that hurt for no reason to the touch. This past Saturday I went dancing and almost didn't make it through the first song, my legs started to hurt so bad. I woke up the next morning and it felt like someone had beat my legs with a baseball bat.
Avatar n tn Yoga does wonders for my fibromyalgia pain!
230948 tn?1235844329 I have heard of people having hip bursitis with your type of pain, or even pain from sciatica can cause hip pain, which I have, but typically, in order to be diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, you need to have pain in at least 11 of the 18 tender point identified by Rheumatologist for diagnostic purposes. Have you been seen by a Rheumatologist? They would be the doctor best fit to diagnose Fibromyalgia. I have posted a link here from our website (MedHelp) of the common symptoms of Fibromyalgia.
Avatar f tn Not a drinker or smoker. Does anyone have a diet guideline for someone with end stage liver disease and Hep C?
1178705 tn?1263936138 I also keep myself on a whole foods diet and restrict my meat intake. I can not stress how much your daily diet will affect your over all well being if you have fibro!!! But that is rant for another day. Have you tried bengay on your tender points? Are you taking motrin or tylenol? Warm showers? Yoga? (it's awesome!) If you have any questions please ask!!!
