1962464 tn?1344610273 I was just diagnosed with fibromyalgia. I also have bipolar disorder, dissociative identity disorder, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, severe anxiety, and arthritis. I am taking so many meds it's ridiculous: Seroquel, cyclobenziprine, Celebrex, Lamotrigine, Prozac, Diclofenic, Simvastatin, and Levothyroxin. My doctor does a complete blood work up every three months and doesn't seem concerned about the combination of meds that I am taking.
894666 tn?1274101496 The list includes (but is not limited to) lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, celiac disease (gluten intolerance), fibromyalgia, etc. Hashi's is the most prevalent cause of hypothyroidism in the U.S. So, there are lots of us out there. Welcome to the group!
1349329 tn?1276988802 I do know it's wise to watch your liver and kidney function on this drug and extended use will most likely reduce it's effectiveness, requiring higher quantities for the same help. WebMD may have something to say about the Rx. Nice to make your acquaintance!
Avatar n tn Aspartame could be soemthing. i only drink diet sodas such as Sierra mist free and diet sprite. i drink fresca also but i havent checked on the ingredients for it yet. No more of them for me. I usually only drink them because some more of my symptoms are dry mouth and eyes and almost everything else. Water doesnt help alone so i guess whatever is in the soda's helps my mouth stay wet a little bit more.
Avatar n tn Also, I read somewhere once that sometimes when the blood needs to reduce it's volume, that excessive urination will follow. I like the Mayo Clinic website, and sometimes WebMD, but failing that, I just google things and see what turns up more than a few times.
Avatar f tn diagnosed with Lyme Syndrome at 10, Fibromyalgia/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome/Epstein Barr at 18, Hypothroidism at 28, Chronic Lyme Disease at 30 (by a homeopathic doctor), and in between a history of GERD, hiatal hurnias, ulcers, anemia, hypoglycemia, random periods of vomiting and anxiety. Today, I found out I have quite a few food sensitivities - gluten/soy/dairy. I have already changed my diet and started a few supplements that my doctor gave me.
Avatar f tn As the episodes continued, I felt the need to go on a diet. Nothing worked! My weight watchers coach basically accused me of lying about sticking to the program because I actually gained while I was on the plan. My legs and feet are now constantly swollen and I am in constant pain. I have pitted edema. I have been to every specialist under the sun and every test indicates I am in perfect health. Finally I found a doctor who believed me and found that I suffered from hypothyroid.
Avatar f tn (First rheumatologist diagnosed me with Fibromyalgia, second rheumatologist said it's definitely not fibromyalgia, but she never believed there was anything wrong with me, even though she saw at the time of my finger swelling.) In high school, I gave blood & had a false positive for HIV. All of my bloodwork has always come back negative (ANA, CRP, everything under the sun.) I generally just never feel well. I have allergies, & I always have.
Avatar f tn but i have been on a diet program and i work out 3-4 times a week and ive lost 22 lbs in less than a hoping that this month with clomid it will just hang in there and find yourself a good RE and with some dieting and exciseing program u will get there!! GOOD LUCK!
645390 tn?1338558977 He thinks I might have Rheumatoid Arthritis, and I need a blood test. WHAT? Seriously?? (This was one of the diseases my mom had). I looked quickly on WebMD, know I shouldn't, but there is was in black and white. Me and my symptoms. It said RA affects the fingers, toes and Cervical Spine. (I had cervical spine surgery Jan 08 for 2 herniated discs. Surgeon said it was due to I had a congenitally small spine and arthritis).
Avatar m tn We haven't talked of celiac disease, and I hope that you've changed your diet to eliminate gluten -- while eliminating guten is today's big money panacea for all kinds of syndromes, the one circumstance where avoiding gluten is with celiac disease. Untreated, celiac disease can cause all kinds of problems, including trouble om tje absorbption of vitamins and minerals, and in precipitating other painful conditions, like pancreatitis and in the producfion of gall stones.
630344 tn?1280108583 I know because my brother in law is a Dr. also I heard this on XM radio webmd. Then the Dr put me on cymbalta. which within three day gave me heart arithmias. The only good thing about lyrica is that it gets the word out there that fibromyalgia is real. Stats are 50% of Dr's do not believe fibro is real. Before my car accident the only thing that helped me with fibro /cfg was Vitimins and mild tranqualizer with a muscle relaxer.
225237 tn?1333142599 A banana for breakfast, along with my daily supplements (fish oil, garlic). Greek-style yogurt after the gym (protein to help rebuild muscle). Plain oatmeal with flaxseed for lunch (lots of fiber, a nice amount of protein). And for dinner? Well, I eat whatever I'm into, because my daily diet has so few calories (roughly 400 calories). I need to get myself into a safe zone. Though, it would probably do me better if I would insert more healthy snacks into the day. But. Whatever.
Avatar f tn Right, I've certainly heard of people getting worse before they get better; I've heard it described as a "detox" reaction rather than the Herx effect, though. I just don't know whether I can trust that that's actually going on. Another major concern I have is that, while the Lightning Pearls doesn't contain an ingredient called aconite, other formulas by Classical Pearls do.
Avatar n tn Rememebr God gave us water and naturl remedies to use so I ould try them first. Also you could try an all vegan diet. The fat and protien in meat and dairy cause inflammation in the muscles and can make your pain worst. I have changed my diet to an all vegan diet at month 2 and I will tell you I hardly even know that I am pregnant. May weight has been controled this time and I feel great.
Avatar n tn I'm at least ten years out from being diagnosed with fibromyalgia (fibro). Done a lot of research over the years, lots of tests, a guinea pig for every new drug coming out, and the usual off label or just stuff that could help with the pain. Most meds really didn't help that much. I think each fibro/cfs patient is a little bit different, but most share alot of the same symptoms to varying degrees.
Avatar n tn Costochondritis - on WebMD What is costochondritis? Costochondritis is a common form of inflammation of the cartilage where ribs attach to the breastbone, the sternum. The inflammation can involve multiple cartilage areas on both sides of the sternum but usually is on one side only. The cause(s) of costochondritis is(are) not known and may involve several factors. Possible causes include heredity (genetic predisposition), viruses, and trauma (injury).
233616 tn?1312790796 One of the key indicators for knowing mine was low was that I lost n weight on a 1200 calorie diet, STRICT.....and that is highly suspect of metabolic shutdown. fibromyalgia is a catch all word for we don't know why you are sore and tired. However, they are testing now both protein and non-peptide secretougues as they think the GH will turn around the condition. as I said, it may also reverse and restore many things, such as arthritis, MS etc.
Avatar n tn I thought it was food, but I am beginning to believe it is environmental, I have no changed my diet for so long. I am also vegetarian. Oh it also happens any time of a year, so it is not seasonal. Anyone, any suggestion is appreciated it.
Avatar f tn I have been in multiple car accidents but only ended up with bulging discs, whipflash, and spranged something. I was diagnosed with having Fibromyalgia in 2002. I just read in some of my previous doctors notes from 1999 that I had rhematoid arthritis. My blood work came back and my doctor said she thinks I have anemia. I have a doctor's appt. with a Rheumatologist 5/1/08. Too long of a wait. I have Straight Medicaid only.
Avatar n tn I got so frustrated with this surgeon that I went to another to get an opinion, and in our area, they are partners, and so he said it could be the sphinter thing. I truly believe with the pain I am having that he hit my liver. On Webmd it does say that this can be a complication of the lap. surgery. If this could have happened, my liver should regenerate itself, right? Is there any end in sight? What can I do from here? Any tests that woudl be conclusive?
Avatar n tn The dermatologist told me she felt I had a auto-immune disorder in evolution and that time would tell. I have since been diagnosed with fibromyalgia and Rheumatoid arthritis. When I get these bumps it comes with a worsening of joint pain , fatigue and symptoms globally. I feel they are auto-immune. Hope this helps.
Avatar n tn But by the time I get home from work my tongue is almost completely orange again. I've also had a sore throat since I noticed it. My diet has not changed nor has any medication that I take. Not sure if I need to go to the doctor or a dentist.
Avatar n tn If you go to WebMD and start searching, there are many different things it could be that's causing the same little bumps. But I would bet that some of you have a really mild case of what I have, since mine is categorized as moderate to severe, and my next step is Humira (sp). Good luck to you all and God Bless!
Avatar n tn Try eating a diet for Ibs. Irritable bowel. All the symptoms point to that. Seems like it is more of an obgyn problem but the cramps the nausea the diarrhea. Same as me and once I cleaned up my diet it goes away.
Avatar n tn I am so relieved I found this. WebMD had no information on this. I was playing on the Wii yesterday and out of no where I felt my finger tingle like it was swelling a few minutes later it was turning blue. I have been freaking out since then looking all over the internet. I thought I was havng a reaction to some new medicine I am taking but I went to their site and it is not listed as a side effect or reason to call Dr. Then my husband said maybe I popped a blood vessel.
Avatar n tn 3 years ago I lost a dramatic amount of weight, 75-80 lbs in 7 mths on the Atkins Diet. With that diet not focusing much on fat, we had thought that I destroyed my gall bladder in turn. Plumenting from being over 185 lbs to around 110 was a big thing and though I was happy to shed the pounds, I don't know what this has cost me in the long run. Since this problem began again a few months ago, I have lost a few more lbs because it is hard for me to eat at times as I get that pain very bad.
Avatar n tn I've gained significant weight while on these drugs (despite an intense exercise program and careful diet). My nutritionist and MD told me that the drugs likely altered my metabolism, but no one can tell me how long it will take to correct that. Most frustrating, I've noticed that since I stopped taking both, my weight gain has accelerated. Any ideas as to how long I need to endure this or ideas for correcting my metabolism? Thanks.
Avatar n tn He states the infection can be caused by the same virus that causes the common cold.  Fibromyalgia. Recurring costochondritis could be a symptom of fibromyalgia. People with fibromyalgia often have several tender spots. The upper part of the breastbone is a common tender spot. He advised me to apply moist heat and take ibuprofen every 4 to 6 hours. Also states I can take muscle relaxants.
