Common Questions and Answers about Fibromyalgia diet instructions

fibromyalgia

Avatar n tn I followed the protocol in KT's book and began my diet on the third day but Dr. Simmeon's protocol says to gorge for 3 days and then begin the diet. I don't know why there is a day difference in the protocols. Also I noticed that DR. Simmeon says to eat white fish but in KT's book he is specific about the white fish being halibut, Chilean sea bass, flounder or sole. Is anyone following just Dr. Simmeon's protocol and if so are you eating other white fish like orange roughy or tilapia?
Avatar m tn Hey droc2013, welcome to the forum. It doesn't sound like Fibromyalgia. I would suggest you rule out low thyroid function first, as in low thyroid conditions, any organ, any bodily system can be affected and functioning at sub-optimum levels. Note: Re:Thyroid testing Thyroid Serum testing is flawed, as it is not necessarily indicative of cellular thyroid function ! Most conventional doctors order TSH,T3 and T4 at best.
Avatar n tn Hi! Is anyone starting the HCG diet on Black Friday? I will be doing it 4 weeks thanksgiving to christmas? Do you want to start a support group?
Avatar f tn has anyone tried coconut oil to treat fibromyalgia with any success? My fibro started after a viral infection...then I had terrible muscle spasms and a strange weakness in my neck, as though I could not hold up my head. I had a lot of pain in my hips, buttocks, and upper back in the trapezius area. I was at the end of perimenopause and I had recently stopped taking birth control pills. The spasms stopped after a couple of months and my doctor put me on trazadone.
131817 tn?1209532911 I posted the other day about taking way too much Neurontin (prescribed for Fibromyalgia and seisures) and feeling like I was jumping out of my sking, the doc said to stop for a day and start over on ONE instead of the THREE pills I was taking afer three days. At that time the pain from joint, muscle was not bad, just the anxiety, diahrea, stumbling, dizzness, NO eating, vomitting, weakness etc. I stopped that day and was ecstatic that I found the cause. That night the pain returned.
Avatar f tn I was blaming my fibromyalgia for my eyes hurting. I went to eye doctor and he informed me that my "eyes are a mess". He said my eyes were not producing tears and the surface of my eyes have all kinds of micro-abrasions. Has anyone out there had this problem?
Avatar f tn Hello, I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia last year after lupus was suspected but ruled out after about 3 years of pain on and off. I was put on Neurontin, which helped my symptoms (joint pain, muscle spams, extreme fatigue) but after about a month, I started to get very depressed. I didn't like the way it made me feel so I got off it. In about 2 weeks, I was back to my old self. The symptoms however persisted. I then was put on Cymbalta... I only lasted 2 days on that.
Avatar f tn Lowe from the Fibromyalgia Research Foundation supports the premise that most fibromyalgia patients are either hypothyroid or thyroid hormone resistant. To my opinion though we cannot find a better method to test thyroid function than Dr. Barnes Basal Temperature Test. (there are several versions now) I have devoted countless of hours, scanning through the studies and groundbreaking work of Dr. Barnes, The Father of Hypothyroidism, lol! Simply brilliant and way ahead of his time!
Avatar m tn hello, i have been on effexor xr for a number of years due to clinical depression and i also have fibromyalgia and it seems to help with that also. i have always had the sweating problem with it. i have tried splitting the dosage etc. Well now they have found out that my thryroid is not working and put me on 100mcg of levothyroxine and 500 mgs of glucophage twice a day. i take 150 mg effexor xr in the morning. now the sweating is embarassing.
Avatar n tn I have fibromyalgia and back pain. My pain is terrible, first thing of the morning and night are the worst times. I can't remember a day when I didn't hurt. I have been taking vicodin 5/500 4xday for 2 1/2 years. I know when I take one, the pain will be bearable and I can do the things I need to do. Lyrica gave me terrible side effects, plus a list of other meds that hurt more than they helped. Who needs to add another problem to the ones I already have?
Avatar n tn In fact, I still use it today for fibromyalgia pain. Works wonders but be careful, it also lowers your blood pressure. Stick to the instructions.
1684282 tn?1582660848 I have been very careful to follow the instructions I was given by Dr. George, Dr. Aharonov and everyone at MDS. I figure that my best thinking got me in the mess I was in, so maybe it’s time to take some direction for a while. For the first two weeks after my procedure, I called Dr. George several times.
Avatar f tn Sounds like good food is just a good idea in any case, no matter what. Shotgunning so many things at once, I dunno how anyone can say any one of the many treatment options is the silver bullet.

Avatar f tn I have been on 3 times a day 60mg oxys and percocets for breakthrough pain about 1-2 daily for about 3 yrs for chronic back pain and fibromyalgia. I am 29 years old and am sick of the medication taking over my life and hope that some of my pain will get better once off the opiods. I pray it will and this is the right desicion I am making by detoxing a medication a dr. prescribes me. I dont abuse it but my body depends on it and I hate it!
Avatar f tn The other possibility when your basal temperature is below normal (just follow the simple instructions precisely), is low adrenal function with low thyroid function secondary. Another suggestion is to cut out grains, sugars and dairy if possible. Carbohydrates feed fungal (yeast) organisms, which in turn fuels tartaric acid production.

A vegan, alkaline diet contains large portions of deep leafy greens & brightly colored vegetables, and moderate amounts of fruits (melons are often favored), legumes, and whole grains like quinoa, buckwheat, bulgur, brown and wild rice.
Avatar f tn This medication is a diet supplement used to prevent and treat low blood levels of carntne. Carnitine is a substance made in the body from meat and dairy products. It helps the body use certain chemicals (Long-chain fatty acids) for energy and to keep you in good health. Low blood levels of carnitine may occur in people whose bodies cannot properly use carnitine from their diets, people on dialysis due to serious kidney disease, and people being treated wth certain drugs (e.g.
Avatar f tn Seriously, most people do not breath properly, without knowing, and that this alone can impact their health. Do either an elimination type of diet, or do Dr.Coca's pulse test. It is a free download. It will tell you what you are reactive to as long as you follow in detail all the instructions. if symptoms persist or worsen consider going to see a dr.
Avatar f tn Use an ordinary oral or rectal glass (not digital) thermometer. Shake down the thermometer the night before, and place it on your nightstand. The first thing in the morning BEFORE you get out of bed, place the thermometer under your arm for ten(10) minutes. Record the temperature reading and date right away! Repeat for 10 days. (In the absence of underlying infectious conditions) Normal Range: 97.6 to 98.2 Averages below this range indicate hypothyroidism.
Avatar f tn Please look into underlying fundamental factors, such as low thyroid function which can cause both IBS and Fibromyalgia symptoms. Dr. Lowe from the Fibromyalgia Research Foundation supports the premise that most Fibromyalgia patients are either hypothyroid or thyroid hormone resistant. To rule this in or out you must forgo the standard serum thyroid testing (TSH, T3&T4) which only indicate...
Avatar f tn After unsuccessfully trying to tone my stomach, having pain, mostly on the right side where my gallbladder scars are, and meeting nothing but more instructions to 'stick with my diet, keep doing the ab exercises, there can't be anything else wrong' attitude, I went to see about laser lipo. I was astonished when the dr. informed me he couldn't help me, the fat on my abdomen was so minimal he couldn't perform the surgery.
Avatar f tn It was sudden and complete involuntary loss of bladder contents that got me back on the MS diagnostic track after 20 years of "not worrying about it" per doctor's instructions. There is nothing I know of about fibromyalgia or the normal female aging process that would cause this. Personally, I'd be looking for an opinion from a different neuro. I suspect your present neuro stays safely inside the fibro diagnosis because there is no test that can dispute it.
Avatar n tn My Doc wont give me a script for it , even though he sais I am Obese, he said I can do it on my own, it sucks because I have Hypothyroidism and Fibromyalgia , it is so hard to get energy to do anything to keep up with my 3 small children. I live in California it is really hard to get it here.
Cat Brown, I also have RLS which is tied into fibromyalgia and a lot of the other health problems related to FMS. I have RLS approximately once a month, but once every few months I have a very bad episode, as I did the other night. I couldn't lay or sit at all, I had to "march" back and forth for hours at night, I walked up and down our stairs did stretching exercises, everything I can think of.
Avatar f tn Many people with chronic illnesses, including autism, CFS and fibromyalgia.... seem to do better on a gluten free diet. It is something you may want to try and it can't hurt. If you do try this diet, make sure that you follow the instructions to a "T". If you have a tiny piece of gluten, it will ruin everything. 4) Consider seeing a physician who knows how to diagnose and treat fibromyalgia.
Avatar f tn I thought maybe it could be fibromyalgia or rheumatoid arthritis but I don't have the tender points that make up fibro. The only thing that keeps the diagnosis of Rheumatoid Arthritis is the blood work. What do you think is causing my symptoms? I'm 18 years old by the way I was 15 when my symptoms started.
1684282 tn?1582660848 Given that patients are more likely to deny overuse when questioned, and that those patients who didn't respond to the interview may represent a group who are less compliant with instructions, it is reasonable to surmise that opioid misuse probably occurs very frequently in any population using them for prolonged periods of time.
Avatar m tn I've been told/treated for Arthritis and fibromyalgia for over 20 years and am developing some garbled verbal skills in daily conversations. I've not had a stroke or anything that would explain it. My mom died from Sarcoidosis and subsequent COPD. My sister died from Lupus and probably Hoshimoto Encephalopathy and other things. My brother was treated for Primary Progressive MS and then thought to be ALS.
