Avatar f tn Fibromyalgia is a chronic condition that causes pain and stiffness throughout the tissues that support and move the bones and joints. Pain and localized tender points occur in the muscles, particularly those that support the neck, spine, shoulders and hips. The disorder includes widespread pain, fatigue and sleep disturbances.
402205 tn?1230481005 Thank you both so much. I was mistaken it is the Fibromyalgia and Fatigue Center's Inc. I'm going to the Pittsburgh one. I will keep you updated and ask many more questions. Thank you again.
Avatar f tn For the past maybe two-two and a half months I've been dealing with a lot of symptoms. Lately I've realized I always have a fluctuating fever. It will be normal, a low grade fever and even up to 101.
Avatar f tn Chronic fatigue syndrome, mental stress are few conditions which can mimic fibromyalgia. Muscle weakness, pain ,burning pain and fatigue are few of the common symptoms of fibromyalgia. Medications like Duloxetione, pregabalin and Milnacipram have been approved for treating fibromyalgia.Duloxetine, Lyrica, and milnacipran are medications that are approved specifically for treating fibromyalgia. The goal of treatment in this condition is to improve sleep and pain tolerance.
2010625 tn?1329372056 I also want to ask if certain types of medications can cause it, or help it along? I was never in this horrible pain until I tried a bunch of different antipsychotics. Body aches was a side effect of a couple different ones I tried. I got off of them and immediately the pain went away, I thought that was it, that I was finally done with the body pain. I was off of them for two months pain free, then I start rapid cycling (bipolar), and had an anxiety episode, and during it the pain came back.
Avatar f tn You could have Fibromyalgia or an Under active thyroid (Hypothyroidism) have a look on the Internet and you will find most of your symptoms are listed in both of these medical issues. I suffer from both and there is medication and treatment. An Underactive Thyroid can be tested for in a blood test and you can get a hormone replacement and you are usually on it for life. In the UK this prescription is free.
Avatar f tn t know if you understand the difference between fatigue caused by hemolytic anemia and that of generalized fatigue. No amount of pain medication will help with hemolytic anemia when you're gasping for breath and any type of exertion causes you're muscles to start rebelling. The only thing that helps relieve that type of pain is Epogen. Doctors don't generally prescribe pain medication for fatigue. They try to find the cause and work towards eliminating it.
Avatar n tn Several years ago, I was diagnoised with Fibromyalgia and this year had a case of shingles. Since then I have had severe pain in my joints, extreme fatigue.and tingling in my fingers.I constanly feel off balance and drop things, at times I feel like I am draging my legs. I am doing yoga, stretching excerises and masages, this helps the pain. The fatigue is almost unbearable. I am not sleeping but about 4 hours.
Avatar n tn Since both conditions share similar symptoms, can an expert tell me if one can have both conditions at the same time, both are more or less the same, are interrelated... or if one has an elevated TSH, this is only a question of the thyroid gland and other endocrine " partners " ??? I appreciate all your possible answer.
Avatar f tn You could ask to be referred to a rheumatologist, who can check you for trigger points- doctors have a minimum number of these trigger points that have to be positive for pain for them to come back with a verdict of fibromyalgia. The other stuff besides thyroid they checked- did it include checking for lupus & also for iron and ferritin levels? Low iron can cause fatigue and irregular heart rhythms & rapid heart rate.
4942618 tn?1361331784 Also, the condition is worsened due to post viral fatigue as a result of HHP-6 and mono. Just as mono causes recurrent flares, HHP-6 too is known to cause recurrent flares. Thus the fatigue, body aches and pain persist. Antiviral therapy is known to reduce the fatigue and other symptoms. You can discuss this with your doctor.
Avatar f tn Fibromyalgia is a chronic condition characterized by widespread pain in your muscles, ligaments and tendons, as well as fatigue and multiple tender points — places on your body where slight pressure causes pain. Fibromyalgia is more common in women than in men. Previously, fibromyalgia was known by other names such as fibrositis, chronic muscle pain syndrome, psychogenic rheumatism and tension myalgias.
4449049 tn?1354740399 Perhaps a trip to the Rheumatologist might shed some light. Sounds like Fibromyalgia or Chronic Fatigue disorder. Fibromyalgia causes headaches, stomach problems, dizziness, fatigue, heartburn, tired legs, join and muscle aches and pains. It's no fun, believe me. It comes and goes and you never know what symptom will come up. Sorry - I hope a Rheumatologist can help.
Avatar m tn I'm 33 years old and this started about 3 yrs ago and has been getting progressively worse since. I'm not aware of any similar family history. I'm not sure that this feel like fibromyalgia (although I'm not too familiar with it). This isn't pain so much as it is extreme fatigue. After I do strenuous activities, my muscles tend to tremble, get very weak and painful at that point. I've also been experiencing memory loss (not sure if this is related...
Avatar f tn It might also be the cause of your fatigue.. And if you need to lose some weight you should do it. Good luck love.
Avatar f tn I never thought of either Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Fibromyalgia. I have heard about both disorders for a very long time, but now I will do more research on the subject. I will let you know what I find.
Avatar f tn I have had fevers for over a year. Chronic fatigue and rashes from the sun. Most of my bloodwork is normal and I am being treated by a rhuematologist. He thinks that I have a virus with PERHAPS an underlying auto-immune disease. He put me on prednisone for the past 6 months but it does nothing for the fevers. I only get fevers upon exertion. The doctor is saying that he has seen this before and it takes up to two years to go away but I am so weary.
1591789 tn?1304378318 Unexplained aches and pains could be due to fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, Crohn’s disease, H pylori infection, anemia, liver disorders, diabetes, hypothyroidism, Vit B12 or Vit D deficiency and due to calcium or magnesium deficiency. It can also be due to sleep related disorders.
Avatar m tn Magnesium deficiency causes tremors, high blood pressure, fatigue, depression, mimics fibromyalgia. Interesting to note is magnesium deficiency is associated with secondary Raynauds. Vitamin D deficiency symptoms include bone and muscle pain, depression, fatigue, high blood pressure, and also mimic fibromyalgia. A highly significant association exists between celiac disease and autoimmune thyroiditis (Graves' disease and Hashimoto's Thyroiditis).
Avatar f tn But when I became the age of 30 I started having problems with a lot of pain, fatigue and I had problems sleeping at night. I was dx with fibromyalgia, I also always had problems with allergies, I would constantly break out in hives. At that time My doctor put me on medication for fibromyalgia and I was on it for a while but I didn't really notice a difference. I just felt zombielike so I stopped taking the medicine.
