997519 tn?1251243449 I started having a tingling pain on my arm. It climbed to my hand and back to my arm. Then moved to my legs. I want to know if this is fibro.
Avatar f tn It started out feeling like my bones were aching then i started to have pain in my left leg , shoulders, neck and back. And paresthesia in my left arm. I went to the emergency room and the doctor and was told it was sciatica and tense muscles probsbly from stress.. after about 3 weeks of this the leg pain and paresthesia went away but i was still having neck and back pain, headaches, muscle twitches . Now i just started having those same symptoms in my rifht side.
Avatar f tn This pressure causes weakness or numbness that may radiate through the entire arm or parts of the arm. Fibromyalgia, neck arthritis are few other possibilities. Take some analgesics for pain relief and try doing hot and cold fomentation alternately. You need consultation from a rheumatologist and investigations to confirm the exact cause. Do keep us posted. Best of luck and kind regards!
Avatar n tn I have no neck pain and good ROM with each shoulder. When I raise my right arm/shoulder up sideways though, I do feel the right arm pain. I'm a 4yr breast cancer survivor and we were concerned about a possible cancer spread so we MRI'd the shoulders 2 weeks ago and the scans came back negative (I don't know that they covered the arm areas though..
Avatar n tn (2nd posting sorry I posted in the wrong spot at first) I don't know if I have fibromyalgia so maybe you can all offer some advice. I am 36 year old female. About 8 weeks ago I noticed my left arm was difficult to drive with and it really struck me as beign strange. It felt heavy. I thought it felt weak but looking back 'heavy' is a more accurate term. I went to my dr. who sent me to a neuro. By the time I saw the neuro I was conviced that I had ALS. Convinced.
434278 tn?1324709825 My body lays down extra fascial tissue which creates more pain. I think for fibromyalgia there are certain pain points that must be tender in order to be diagnosed. Otherwise I would think they feel very similar.
Avatar n tn Fibromyalgia is a chronic condition characterized by widespread pain in your muscles, ligaments and tendons, as well as fatigue and multiple tender points — places on your body where slight pressure causes pain. Fibromyalgia is more common in women than in men. Previously, fibromyalgia was known by other names such as fibrositis, chronic muscle pain syndrome, psychogenic rheumatism and tension myalgias.
Avatar m tn I told it could be Fibromyalgia i have an appt. in May .. IS THIS PAIN NORMAL WITH THIS CONDITION AND WILL THE PAIN EVER GO AWAY ?
Avatar n tn Left is worse than the right, if I bump my arm or if someone sqeezes my arm, even lightly it causes me more pain. My arms hurt all the the time, I wake up in pain. I am 19 yrs old and have been having this pain since I was about 11 yrs old. I have been to a Rheumatologist, Orthopedic, Muscle specialist and Surgeon. I have had MRIs, Xrays and an EEG...nothing! The pain is always there, please please help.
Avatar n tn Hello, Strained muscles and sprained ligaments are among the most common causes of upper back pain. This usually occurs when excessive pressure, often from exercising too much, causes the tissue to stretch too much or excessively, causing them to become damaged or torn. Pulled muscular tissue and pinched nerves are other possibilities.Apply warm compresses and take some OTC painkiller and some antiinflammatories. These may help. Another cause of upper back pain is a ruptured or herniated disc.
Avatar f tn What you have is probably Scalene Myofascial Pain Syndrome. When scalene muscle is the cause of pain, the pain is referred to chest, inner lining of scapula (shoulder bone), shoulder, posterior and lateral sides of the arm right up to the thumb and index finger. It could also be due to pinched cervical spinal nerve or due to TMJ or a combination of both. Hence a MRI of cervical spine should be done along with a dental checkup to look for causes of TMJ.
Avatar m tn My PCP is at a loss as to what to suggest next. No one is willing to work on pain management in any form with me, and most pain clinics won't accept me b/c I have no diagnosis, and I've been to the pain clinics in my area (PNW) that will see me. Should I consider a visit to an anesthesiologist or psychiatrist?
Avatar m tn The doctors tells me i have fibromyalgia and Cfs.I have very bad pain and stiffness through all of my body, muscles, and joints.I have some slight relief taking dothiepin hydrochloride. Do other people out there ,have these same symtoms as me.Like very bad foot and hand pain with this condition eg (1 using computer mouse, .2 typing on keyboard , .3 Hold hand in stop position and spread fingers .,4 With my other hand Squeeze fingers together on other hand. .5 Firm handshake from a friend..
Avatar n tn Chest pain and heaviness in the arm can occur in fibromyalgia. It is one of the causes of non cardiac chest pain. Are you taking any treatment for fibromyalgia? Medications like analgesics, antidepressants, and muscle relaxants are known to work well in this condition.
Avatar n tn If it goes along with a pain in your neck, especially a sharp pain, it sounds like a pinched nerve. When you touch the pain at your neck does the skin feel numb right at the pain? If you press does the pain feel hot/cold and knife like? That is a pinched nerve. A chiropractor can get an entraped nerve out one two three. My husband and I were rouseing on the floor once and he lifted my legs, Crazy man lol, and a big crack. Now this is to a greater extent than what you are dealing with.
Avatar f tn Hi, I am Jana! Hope you are feeling well Today! I also Suffer from Fibromyalgia & a Whole Slew of Other Medical Problems as you can see from my Profile! Avatar m tn I have a full tare and other problems in the rotator cuff, but the symptoms are not consistent and not the same throughout the day. There is more discomfort and pain that can run down the arm during sleep. Spinal stenosis means narrowing and because of this, nerves can be impinged and aggravated, depending on which nerve is being aggravated, this will cause tingling, pain radiating down the arm as well as weakness (upper back). Spinal stenosis can cause problems in the legs and feet.
Avatar n tn Hello, There could be a direct or indirect link between left arm numbness and Left side abdominal pain. Left side clone pain can cause a radiating pain to the left arm. There might be some nerve related connection between the left side body limps and abdomen. You might need to do some close abdominal tests the least being ultrasound machines to see if there is some thing wrong with the left side clone (intestine) that is causing both the pain there and your left side arm numbness.
Avatar n tn Hello, Causes of chest pain and heaviness in chest and arm are many. It can be due to hypertension,Gastroesophageal reflux disease(do you have heart burn and difficulty in swallowing), disorders involving the lung like Pneumonia, pulmonary embolism, pneumothorax, Mediastinal emphysema etc;cardiac diseases, lung cancer, thoracic outlet syndrome, pancreatitis, gall bladder disease and muscle pain.
Avatar f tn Major confusion Virtually no short term memory burning/electric pain down back and in left arm and leg (I've don't the 240 shuffle before and it's pretty darn close) on/off tremors (some mild some body wracking) numbness in the face (mostly just the nose and upper lip) horrible fatigue in the afternoon I fall asleep no matter what (not the drained feeling I used to be) chest tight pain that makes it nearly unable to breath major constipation/bladder issues in addition to the pain, headaches,
Avatar f tn Many of those already suffering from the pain of fibromyalgia also suffer from myofascial pain syndrome. Myofascial pain syndrome is another form of chronic pain that can affect the entire body, particularly the face and jaw. Myofascial pain can add to the already annoying symptoms of fibromyalgia, and can contribute to disability and a poor quality of life if not diagnosed properly. I have had fibro for years and most likely also have MPS as well although not diagnosed.
Avatar n tn I did no testing because I could still function in normal life but I had to stop jogging because of severe pain on my inner ankles (post-tibial tendonitis). My right nevicular bone fractured and it feels better(not treated for the fx). My left one is still very painful but not all the time. I now have more S/S of fibro: some fatigue, most every tener spot, IBS (dx as Chronn's in 2000), dry eyes, weird skin sensations and numbness and tingling in the bottom of my feet.
Avatar f tn TOS is characterized by non specific symptoms like neck stiffness, pain on raising the arm above the head, neck pain and headaches and a tired feeling in arm. Hope this helps. It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage. Do consult your doctor. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
Avatar f tn Excuse my poor grammar. I think it is the brain-fog and I also just woke up !
Avatar m tn Usually starts within a half hour of waking up and continues on/off during the day, localized to that spot on the left side, usually branches off from there, rarely travels to the right side of my head. The arm and leg pains are back. The leg pain has been bothering me the most over the last few days, localized to the ankle area at the top of the left foot and travels across the top of my left foot down to my second toe.
230948 tn?1235847929 If you've ever had a ruptured disc and the disc is pressing on the nerve and causing pain down your leg or down your arm that is nerve pain. Fibro pain is such an ache, an ache too the bone. Being touched even lighting when you have fibro pain is awful. There are several studies and different docs who have theories on fibro pain.
587021 tn?1302220907 It can also register extreme pain when there is no cause, but the pain is as real as if you broke your arm. One of the best examples of neuropathic pain is "Phantom Limb Pain." There is nothing there to hurt, but the brain registers pain all the same. Your symptoms may not be MS (you really have not listed all that many, and they could also be caused by a blown disc in your neck. You could have 2 or 3 different things going on at the same time.
267076 tn?1270677931 (all along the T4 - T7 area I think) When I use my arms - as in cooking, cleaning, reaching for things, driving etc - it causes the pain to be worse and I get tightness in my chest. I used to think I was having some kind of heart problem but the Drs all say it's not my heart (I've seen several Drs for this) The back Dr I went to said the back pain is from the Fibro. Does anyone else have the pain in that area? I've had MRI and xrays of my back and it shows my discs are fine.
