7450908 tn?1390999921 I was diagnosed with fibro about 18 years ago. I've been using Lyrica & was using Cymbalta for a while as well. I quit using the antidepressant because it seemed to make the depression worse. I'm on low income & I'm telling this medication is getting so expensive that I have a hard time affording to buy just a months worth at taking one a day. At certain times of the year I have to take more than one a day. Is there a more natural way to deal with fibro?

I had somes aches and pains before the auto accident but I feel like a fool for complaining about that kind of pain. I've been asked by attorneys on a scale of 1 to 10 how bad was the pain after the accident. The short answer was there isn't a number on any scale for that kind of pain.

723959 tn?1314747825 I was just wondering does the weather affect fibromyalgia? Like today it has rained all day, very gray, depressing day. I had a horrible headache I think it came from the tenseness in my neck. My legs throb. But I forced myself to clean all day. But I feel like my body needs more physical stress, because I have been off work for three weeks, and when I'am at work It's physical to the point that I sweat. So when I stop working, its like I don't feel right, mentally or phyically.

Avatar n tn I got on some more sites and read alot about B-12 (and its different forms). Lots of people with fibromyalgia report numbness and tingling like feelings and I saw where the B vitamins have helped them. I used to take alot of vitamins but as I began other programs I limitted what I took so that my clinical picture was more clear. I also read where most people have a normal blood level of B-12 and folate but the vitamin, whether oral, or sl or inj. really helped.

Avatar f tn it can and usually does affect a person's entire life and can wax and wane with the weather, barometer, stress level and all kinds of other outside sources. It not only affects the muscles, nerves, brain, memory, mental health and ALL different parts of the body and brain and often exhibits different symptoms in each person and different treatments will work for them as well. It is a very REAL disease and far from a cop out or easy answer.

341042 tn?1244780027 There are trigger points at different sections of your body, food sensitivity, depression, IBS, and stress will aggrievate all of the afore mentioned. The weather will complicate things also. WebMD shows you all the trigger points and what to expect. It is treated with anti-inflamatory drugs and anti- depression meds. I have had Fibromayalgia for at least 10 or more years. You learn to listen to your body or the pain is worse. You can be your own worse enemy sometimes.
Avatar f tn I use it during changes in weather that hurts me more. Advil and Tylenol do not work on FM pain and your Dr. should know that. So seek a new doctor until your satisfied. I went on line to find one and read peoples reviews. Don't give up. You need to be your own advocate. Hot pads and hot epsin salt baths help me in between. I know your pain and I am sorry you have had so much trouble. If you don't find satisfaction with new doctors you could try a pain management clinic.
192368 tn?1224207730 I think the way I look at it, since it has been so long, is that yes, I do have flare-ups, especially in times of stress, cold weather, storms coming in, and could list many more as sure you already know. But the difference is that the flare-ups do end at some point; and if you have other things going on, they can get worse. That is how I tell the difference. Hope I made sense but sometimes not sure I even do that!!
