Common Questions and Answers about Fibromyalgia and vitamins

fibromyalgia

Avatar f tn I would particularly investigate super foods such as spirulina and bee pollen for energy and detoxification, and adaptogenic herbs to help with the adrenals such as the ginsengs and such. Which ones, however, will depend on your mental state.
Avatar n tn The two types of pain are different. The fibromyalgia is primarily a pain in the muscles and tendons, whereas the neuropathies are of the nerve fibers. The first presents with soreness and achiness or tenderness, and the second, burning, or electrical type buzzing, or sharp cutting pain etc. Diabetes and peripheral neuropathies often go together. Also, Asthma can masquerade as COPD, and visa versa. So I don't know if any of that helped, but it's additional information.
Avatar m tn Sounds like the mysterious Fibromyalgia. Those of us who have it take vitamins and minerals. Sometimes Gabapentin (anti seizure medicine) will help. My supplements include Essiac, CoQ10 and Ipriflavone. I have very few bad days now. But I do still have a "flare up" from time to time. There is no cure for Fibromyalgia yet.
Avatar f tn t have fatigue, maybe because I am taking Vitamins, and also Ensure. I eat well. My hands sometimes they get hot. When the weather is cold, my symptoms seemed to dissapear. the temperature in my house has to be set 69 degrees. Do you have these symptoms too?
Avatar f tn He said that there is really nothing that you can do about it besides go to physical therepy and exercise, and take all my vitamins. But one thing I couldn't get him to understand is that I'm not even able to hardley get up out of the bed, much less evercise. You just cant get these doctors to understand anything, and get this he told me that there is no medicine at all that would help.

I'm take all kinds of vitamins as well.

Avatar f tn I recently posted regarding some tingling and numbness in arms and B12 or diabetes was suggested. I have since started taking B vitamins and have been very careful about what I eat. I have also been exercising everyday. The numbness and tingling has gone completely away - however, I still have severe muscle pain in both forearms. Can this be related? It has only been 3 weeks since I started the vitamins.
Avatar f tn Or you could have a vitamin deficiency. Next time you have a blood test, ask that they check your B and D levels. A lack of Vitamins B and D3 can cause fatigue. Fibromyalgia can also make you feel this way. You might want to see a Rheumatologist. Wishing you the best and hoping this info was helpful.
573297 tn?1304709140 Hello I was diagnosed with bi polar when I was 23 the prob is if your diet is bad you can experience symptoms of bi polar bc of a lack of certain vitamins and minerals also its genetic you are either born with it or your not. With fibromyalgia you can acquire this syndrome at any age and once you have it you have it forever. No one can make someone understand the pain fibromyalgia brings.

Take omega 3 fish and flax oils and gingko biloba along with good b vitamins / multivitamins . Brain fog is common in chronic pain conditions . Also try to avoid wheat completely for few days and see it helps (wheat gluten allergy) , Take lots of rest , I am taking cymbalta and it has helped me with pain and brain function . Never loose hope , we are in this together , you will feel better soon .
Avatar f tn I have Fibromyalgia and can only work three days a week with days in between and have to sleep 12 hours and two short naps during the days off. This year if I do too much during one day, my upper back spasms into a neck/shoulder pain spasm and causes migraine, and I am bedridden. The only thing that provides relief is a hot bath and codeine and 2 muscle relaxants and one gravol. It has only been that bad for one year.
1692515 tn?1306270048 I have been told my mother that at 2 years old I put a bobbie pin in an electrical outlet and she had to get a mop to dislodge me. My question is could my fibromyalgia, reoccuring shingles, and electric shock feeling be caused by this and what can be done to stop it.
Avatar m tn I take vitamins daily in order to keep myself happy and healthy. B-Complex (great for your mood) and Omega 3-6-9 (improves concentration/mostly dissolves my fibro fog.
Avatar m tn every medicine I had been put on has been problems and I have been taken off all for Fibromyalgia, osteoporosis, and arthritis. Now, my right eye is getting fuzzy, not every day, but more days all the time. My doctor has said although I need back surgery, be careful doing that because it will possibly make your fibromyalgia worse. Will I ever be able to try medicines again? I have an allergy from them...swollen tongue and throat type but, can that ever change???/ Thanks.

Avatar f tn I was just diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, I have some osteoarthritis and have had a hip replacement 4 yrs ago, in the last year I have becomed very fatigued, muscle pain especially in arms, shoulder area, hands and feet, I have very little energy to go to gym anymore, I heard that 50% of people with fibromyalgia also have low thyroid, even though my thyroid test shows normal, could thyroid medication help?
Avatar f tn This is called ACES therapy and is a very good combination of vitamins and nutrients. Vitamins A, C and E are called antioxidants. They are useful to combat free- radical damage at the cellular level. Vitamin E, in particular, improves circulation and reduces muscle pain. Hope this helps you . Take care and regards !

358699 tn?1297646442 It is my understanding that there may be a link between Lactic Acid build up and Fibromyalgia. What vitamins or other methods can reduce the levels of Lactic acid in the body? And I also wanted to know what good low impact aerobic exercises are good for this and overall well being for someone suffering from Fibromyalgia?
237053 tn?1258828426 I was DXed with Post Tramatic Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue a year ago in Jan. and I have severe pain all through my body. My body feels heavy and I feel as tho I have the flu 24/7. Right now I am in a flare that has been eating me up for several months. It will ease up, giving me hope of relief, and it over powers me again. I can't stand to wear a bra any longer because it feels like it is ripping my skin away from my body, so I wear white undershirts.
Avatar m tn likely to be a strong lack of vitamins especially calcium is likely to be anemic it shouldn't be something serious unless she is very old and all her joints became dust(but if it was that she probably wouldn't move at all) just give her some vitamins based on calcium along with some milk products and in about 2 weeks she will be just fine if that is the problem...
