Fibromyalgia and provigil

Common Questions and Answers about Fibromyalgia and provigil

fibromyalgia

Avatar f tn I have been taking provigil for 4 days now, and in the mornings, I've noticed fibrofog soon after waking up. Which, by the way, I never had before this medication. Is it coincidence or is it a normal reaction to provigil? Seriously, the benefits outway the side effects, if this is the case. Within an hour after taking the provigil in the morning it goes away, and my chronic fatigue is more bareable, too.
Avatar f tn What exactly are cymbalta and lyrica? Aren't they anti-depressants? How do they help with the pain? Do they help with chronic fatigue as well? I have been diagnosed with chronic fatigue, and the aches and pains(especially legs from my thighs to my ankels) are leading the doctor to think fibromyalgia. I was just wondering about these meds because I NEED some relief and I've heard many mentions of these meds. Can they be taken with provigil?
1100837 tn?1267668675 m experiencing from the RA and FMS with Provigil (for fatigue) and Effexor XR (for pain). What do you all think?
765921 tn?1240405239 t think I have MS (hes a MS specialist) but that he really thinks I have fibromyalgia because of all of my pain and all of the other symptoms I have and since I had a normal MRI but also a doctor in the past had mentioned fibro, he said it was more of a possibility. He wrote me a consult for a rhumatologist, and gave me a lab slip for my blood work. I am so happy.
Avatar f tn Feb Mayo Clininc Visit: ANA low positive titer, they say no clinical significance; Rheumatologist did lupus panel and other autoimmune tests - all negative. Neuro did exam and "could not diagnose an underlying neurologic disease. Attributed all of my symptoms to Fibromyalgia and said that I just have an extreme case of it. I am going to post more about the neurology report in my next post with some questions. Thanks for taking the time to review my case!
797195 tn?1240579823 I have been living with MS for ten years and have been lucky. Between taking AVonex and Provigil my relapses are very few and far between. and also not severe.
Avatar n tn I feel as though it is nerve related and have wondered if just maybe it is Fibromyalgia. I am not exactly sure what type of Physician Specialist to see, but the pain is getting worse not better. Can you please offer me an opinion and a starting point? I just don't know how much more pain I can take. Thank you very much for your time!
Avatar f tn I hope you will check out our Health Pages (located to the right of your screen). Many of the fibromyalgia experts have their treatment plans online and I posted those links. There are also pathogen killing treatments... fairly new and without controversy, but the success stories are impressive. Also.. here are some other links that may be helpful to you. You may want to consider printing any information that you think may be of help to you and sharing it with your physician(s). Good luck !
3191241 tn?1345032381 All depends on meds. Also if you have CFS try and ask for Provigil.... I am on that sadly I do sleep anyway, but some dont, like my daughter.
984010 tn?1255796138 Also a medication called provigil helps with the fatigue. and Green tea extract helps build your immune system.
Avatar f tn I just started ProVigil today. My neuro gave it to me a week ago and I've been staring at it sitting on my kitchen counter--a little nervous about it. Anyway, I took 100mg today. I really feel it. I don't feel that "if I don't go lie down for a half an hour right now I'm going to drop dead" feeling that I have been getting in the afternoons. I'm not "wired" or feel weird at all--just almost normal.
572651 tn?1530999357 I don't have MS but I have had experience with real Provigil and fake Provigil BCBS won't cover Provigil, even with dramatic results of a sleep study and literally my going to sleep at the wheel.Even with excessive caffeine I never woke up and most of my days were spent napping. The authentic Provigil samples from the Doctor and the Modafinil, manufactured in Canada, sold at Walmart in US (BUT THE PILLS ARE STAMPED PROVIGIL) are not the same.
871962 tn?1244730028 The medications I have used are provigil and adderall, and I don't take them every day, so tracking them would be helpful. (I currently take provigil.) Tracking the degree of sleepiness is also helpful, since I am sleepy almost every day and a yes/no doesn't do much. Others with narcolepsy might benefit from tracking sleep paralysis but fortunately I don't have that problem. That being said, I really like all the trackers here.
Avatar f tn org) I know you can get help on the Oxycontin, (its a $20.00 copay) Provigil, and Prozac. The only med that is not covered is the Endocet. But if your Dr. is flexible OxyIR is available. Use must not have any pharmacy insurance and meet the income requirements to be qualified. I hope this helps. Let me know if you need any additional information.
968560 tn?1307451498 Anybody know if there is any problems taking tramadol and provigil together?
620048 tn?1358018235 I do use OTC sleep aids like you said and i think for now i will continue, i have some ambien, but i will keep it to use when i need it, since i had to beg for it. I dont want to use it all the time anyway. And i use 200 mg of provigil now, and i sometimes i could use a bit more. But i try to stick with 200 mg.
Avatar n tn I was put on provigil to help with chronic fatigue syndrome and fibromyalgia. I didn't notice very much of a difference. A strong latte would be about the closest thing I can compare it to. I am on adderal now, and it doesn't over-stimulate me, but at least I can get a few things done during the day, take care of my chidlren, and pry myself off of the couch. I also can feel that my short term memory (which was shot) is starting to slowly come back. My advice.
Avatar f tn muscle and/or joint pain, debilitating fatigue, headaches, memory loss, difficulty with concentration. Patients with fibromyalgia often have chronic fatigue syndrome as well. Coginitive behaviour therapy is quite helpful in chronic fatigue syndrome and you can go in for this. There is no medication available that can treat CFS specifically, but different medicines like pain killers and antidepressants are quite useful.
Avatar n tn I still feel pressure in my temples and forhead even though I have stopped taking Provigil. Can you have withdraws from Provigil?
1511858 tn?1290477459 My muscles tremor when over exherted and I need Provigil to get out of the bed and drive and function without fear of falling asleep ...I've been taking provigil with great success however, I am having a hard time with insurance filling it with new Medicare ins. restrictions and pre auth's required etc.
1394098 tn?1385960134 This is very important as most drugs for CFS have direct effects on neurotransmitters such as Cymbalta, which is a Serotonin–norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor and Provigil, which is a dopamine transporter re-uptake inhibitor.
Avatar f tn s been an issue with me for more than 10 years, but the last 2 months I was really bad and just being awake for more than 5 hours wore me out. He prescribed Provigil and I've read some of the threads on it and it sounds very promising. My question is, is it something you can take daily indefinitely? Or are you supposed to just take it when you need it (which would be daily for me!) I hope my insurance will cover it because I'm not diagnosed with ms or anything.
