Avatar m tn every medicine I had been put on has been problems and I have been taken off all for Fibromyalgia, osteoporosis, and arthritis. Now, my right eye is getting fuzzy, not every day, but more days all the time. My doctor has said although I need back surgery, be careful doing that because it will possibly make your fibromyalgia worse. Will I ever be able to try medicines again? I have an allergy from them...swollen tongue and throat type but, can that ever change???/ Thanks.

Avatar f tn I don't think many health practitioners are aware of this, but I could be wrong. If you have fibro, CFIDS/ME or an autoimmune condition, I highly recommend getting a DEXA scan to rule out osteopenia and/or osteoporosis. And this includes the male members here as well... I've seen a few men on the research protocol I'm on who have been diagnosed with either one of these two conditions.

Avatar f tn I think I would see another doctor, ask to be tested for fibromyalgia and polymyalgia. Also, I would suggest being tested for food and environmental allergies plus Candida, a type of yeast/fungal infection. I wish I could help more, but, as you said, you have such a wide array of symptoms, it is really difficult to figure out.

Avatar m tn Mother: Fibromyalgia, Osteoporosis, Grandmother: Hypothyroidism, Osteoporosis, Arthritis, Brother: Psoriasis. I asked my Doctor to check my Hormone levels but He said there is nothing that would cause this pain. I do not know if he tested my TSH levels. I am going to check this week and see if there is any other test I can do. Does this sound like Hyper/Hypo Thyrodism? Fibromyalgia?

Avatar f tn I have Fibromyalgia and can only work three days a week with days in between and have to sleep 12 hours and two short naps during the days off. This year if I do too much during one day, my upper back spasms into a neck/shoulder pain spasm and causes migraine, and I am bedridden. The only thing that provides relief is a hot bath and codeine and 2 muscle relaxants and one gravol. It has only been that bad for one year.

Avatar m tn I have been diagnosed with low testosterone and fibromyalgia. I am 33 and was diagnosed at about 28. I really think I have always had this as a problem, just undiagnosed till now. Can long term low T levels cause muscle fiber deterioration and chronic debilitating muscle pain. Sometimes I couldn't even tell you where it hurts, and I am always sick and ran down. My doc has me on a T cream.
Avatar n tn The doctors she has seen say it is to do with her bones and conditions such as arthritis and osteoporosis have been suggested but she is adement that it is her muscles that are the problem. She has likened the pain to chronic arthritis (but in her muscles), and also extremely servere cramp. Movement has become a massive issue, when it is common that she'd be unable to lift her arm more than six inches. She suffers from bouts of dizziness and is short of breath regularly along with this.

I picked up the RX and was reading the information and I am concerned about the side effect of this medication. Is this the only way to help with osteoporosis? Is there anything elso another way?
Avatar f tn Osteoporosis is the thinning of bone tissue and loss of bone density over time. If you do not get enough calcium, or if your body does not absorb enough calcium from the diet, bone production and bone tissues may suffer. As you age, calcium and phosphate may be reabsorbed back into the body from the bones, which makes the bone tissue weaker. And this happens with the bones of your entire body.
