Fibromyalgia and night sweats

Common Questions and Answers about Fibromyalgia and night sweats

Avatar n tn Emphysema does not cause night sweats. Recurrent night sweats would actually suggest that you have another health problem, unrelated to emphysema, but possibly an infectious pulmonary disease, such as tuberculosis (TB). Diabetes can also cause night sweats as can a number of other diseases. Finally, it is not uncommon for a person to have night sweats, for no apparent cause, but that should not be your assumption. I suggest that you see your doctor, for evaluation of the night sweats.
Avatar n tn I was recently diagnosed with FMS and I get the sweats all thoughout the day and night.....but soaking wet at whole case is severe and chronic. 3191241 tn?1345035981 I get night sweats cold sweats and vivid nightmares without taking cymbalta, think it's part of the fibromyalgia syndrome isn't it?
Avatar n tn I feel dizzy and off my food, having night sweats and it is now Wednesday and I'm back in bed again after days of feeling like this.. Knowing someone in my family with fibromyalgia I know this is likely the cause but I don't feel well enough to get to the doctors... When do these symtoms ease... Will they ? Sorry for the long story. Thank you in advance.
Avatar f tn It sounds neurological and somehow, also, hormonal because of night sweats?? I've also heard similar symptoms being related to people who have gone to exotic places in the world and contracting some strange, parasite, which wrecks havoc on their central nervous system, organs, etc. I would probably ask my doctor to send me to a topical disease centre for bloodwork to be done to have that ruled out.
Avatar m tn The real icky part is when the sweats end for the night and your laying there drenched; body, hair and sheets and then the clammy chill comes along just to make you feel even more uncomfortable. I thinks that's where the residual tiredness comes from, a lack of sound rem sleep in those nights. In those nights, I think I sweat gallons. Yuuch.
230948 tn?1235847929 Hi me again Do any of you suffer from night sweats i soak the bed 3-4 times a night and have to change put towels on the sheets its so embarrasing this happens during the day too cold sweats when i move around which is not fast lol i never used to sweat this much when i jogged 5 miles on my day off 2 yrs ago before i got ill? i get hot inside and feel weak all over i hate the heat yet i also hate the cold!!
Avatar f tn I too have Hashi's, with a multi-nodule and small goiter with ADRENAL INSUFFICIENCY, Adrenal Adenoma, Fibromyalgia and on and on..... BTW, did you know that your adrenal glands ALSO make your sexual hormones? Like Estrogen(S), DHEA, testosterone - yes, woman have that too? They're a backup to your ovaries, etc. AND that these "Hormones" are really considered steroids?
Avatar f tn This then moved on to night sweats and muscle pain which is getting worse and worse. I seem to be pulling muscles very easily. I have had all kinds of blood work done as well as CAT scans of my head chest pelvic and abdomen and all fine, though my most recent blood test showed a high sed rate, low iron, low b-12 and something to do with the connective tissue of my muscles. My dr is thinking Lupus but i find it hard to believe one day you can just wake up and poof you have this illness.
Avatar f tn I honestly didn’t feel much better. Still exhausted as always. And then I started to develop night sweats 2 months later. But I was also sick with a sinus infection and some kind of throat infection. I have been on so many antibiotics this year it’s not even funny. But ever since then I have had night sweats for about 2-3 times a week. I told my doctor and he recommended I see an infectious disease doctor. I saw him about a month after which was the soonest they could get me in.
Avatar n tn This isn't an everyday, or even every week, event but it has happened probably 5 or 6 time. I have also recently been having terrible night sweats, gained several pounds and have been insanely tired at times. I just don't want to get my mom worried by bringing this thought up without getting some hopefully someone can help me! I would really appreciate it!
Avatar f tn It sounds like you are getting a little bit of the run around here. You really need to see a Rheumatologist who is friendly to Fibromyalgia. I looked at your profile and didn't notice where you live. Are you in the states or outside? Below is a really good website to find a doctor or provider who knows how to treat and diagnose FM and CFS. Depending on where you live, I may have one more site for you.
1922027 tn?1342463710 Seemingly they are getting worse and occur at least 30-50 times a day and through the night. I feel like I am losing my mind and don't know where to turn to for help. I do not know or understand what is happening to me and this is not any normal hormonal menopausal transition. Can any one help?
Avatar f tn I have night sweats and day sweats, vertigo some. I have no sense of smell but haven't since nose sx. I don't think I have anger/anxiety no more than anyone else. I do get stabbing pains in my legs and feet. Night and blurry vision has been worse. I take a Multi-vitiamin and 1200mg fish oil every day. Thanks for listening-this is making me feel better that I'm not alone in this. I need all the help I can get.
Avatar n tn Recent bloodwork came back with a deficiency in vitamin d, they put me on 1200mg a day of vit d and calcium, and really i have felt very good up until 4 days ago. and now it is worse than ever. i do hope someone else tells me that they have the sweating also. NOT that I want someone else to be going through it, i just want to think that this is a fibro symptom and not something else. Any help is appreciated.
Avatar m tn cold increases my pain to a highly untolerable level. night chills/sweats- I wake up freezing with 5 blankets on me and my sheets are soaking from my night sweats. trouble sleeping- even with sleep medication (trazadone, seroquel) inability to get warm after exposure to cold. When I am cold- all I can feel is my bones, the pain penetrates through my skin and muscles and I feel it everywhere!!

Avatar n tn It is a connective tissue disease and can leave your muscles feeling sore and very painful and change your lifestyle completely if gone unchecked and unmanaged. Fibromyalgia has been very difficult to diagnose over the last 20 years. The only clear way to diagnose it right now is to do the "Tender Points" check, but there's a catch here too. See, there are supposed to be 18 points on your body the doctor has to press for soreness in order to conclusively diagnose for Fibromyalgia.
Avatar f tn Were you ever on antidepressants or any medication that would effect dopamine, serotonin or norepinephrine levels, prior to being dx'd with Fibromyalgia? If so, what was your age and approximately how long did you stay on the medication. Thank you for your response to this poll. Have a nice day.
Avatar f tn I have high blood pressure, lupus, asthma, back problems, diabetic, fibromyalgia, and Padgett disease, an enlarged heart, and enlarged thymus gland. I've been waking up in the middle of the night with leg cramps, tremors, shortness of breath and my hair & night gown soaked from sweat. Please advise what could be happening? My doctor sent me to the hospital. They did blood test, x rays, cat scan with injected dye, Doppler tests. Sent me home with a referral to see a oncologist.

I was wondering if anyone else suffering from this get this as well she is only 33. I feel so helpless for her b/c I want her to have fun and hang out she just lost 130 pounds and then this! she is finally small and trying to be active and her pain is soo intense it lays her up for 2 days.
Avatar f tn Yes VaBreeze, I suppose it (the flushing) could be part of perimenopause but up until this month I have been perfectly regular and the night sweats and flushing have been going on since April. Is it possible to be regular and be experiencing night sweats from perimenopause? I guess I'm about the right age. I'm so perplexed and upset about all this. I'm sure there is a bit of anxiety that comes along with this but I am not a person who generally has panic attacks.
Avatar n tn I am a 43 yr old female. I have Fibromyalgia and have for over 10 years, so I'm achy, but to me that's just "normal". I have gained (according to them 50lbs but according to my scale about 35lbs in 9 months). I work out 3-4 days a week. I have a pretty decent diet, not big on junk food. I'm always tired (I even yawn at the gym!!) regardless of how much sleep I get. I have zero sex drive. Dry/Brittle Hair My hands get cold for no reason.
182493 tn?1348056515 I may be off of pills but I suffer daily with pain, fatigue, and frustration. I have night sweats now for no real reason.. This weekend I am devoting myself to researching things I can do to get better or at least feel better some of the time. After all I found a way to quiet my addiction, I should be able to find a way to quiet my fibromyalgia. I also decided today that without a doubt I am quitting my job. That place is sucking the life out of me.. They have high expectations of me...
Avatar m tn I wanted to ask anyone if you have ever heard of leg pain associated with tablets of morphine, I woke up at night and my legs felt like they were on fire. I have decided to go off of the morphine and have 16 left and I did it before with less though it is hard. This is the third prescription I have had because they just did not have anything better to offer but the divoprolex is working well. Or epival??
Avatar f tn Since July of 2015, I've been dealing with almost daily episodes of diarrhea (often severe), sweats, and gas that wake me between 3 and 5am.  Then I have chills for hours after. The only time I don't have this problem is when I'm on a round of antibiotics (but it returns shortly after I finish them) and when I don't eat dinner.  I rarely eat breakfast or lunch now, because I don't feel hunger sensations and because these symptoms occur during the day if I do and are disruptive in my life.
Avatar n tn I wake as tired as I was when I went to sleep the night before. I've tried telling people around me about the rib cage pain and they look at me like I'm speaking another language. I'm so glad to hear that someone else can relate to that kind of pain also. I am having a terrible time with some members of my family believing me. It's so frustrating. For the most part I am in my nightgown every day. I don't go out of the house because of the fatigue.
902868 tn?1242160398 They tell me it is fibro, but I am going to be honest and tell you, I do not HAVE it despite of what a doctor said. ..... Fibro should not give you night sweats....
