Avatar m tn I have had severe muscle twitching on and off for about 20 years now. I'm 60 and so far it hasn't changed. It usually occurs after stress or when I've had a headache or more often when I have very tight muscles. I do have some cervical spondylosis and some migraines on occasion, and it seems to happen more during that time. Also it happens when I try to do relaxation techniques to help the pain.
Avatar n tn m paranoid about side effects, and I started to feel very disoriented at night and had side effects such as, muscle twitching, ticking, confusion, wierd vision change, so I told my doctor this and I was exspecially concerned about the muscle twitching, I get it all over my legs, arms sometimes in my cheeks, and sometimes even my abdomen, my doctor kind of shrugged it off thinking it was due to my anxiety and not my meds, but this never happened before my medication, maybe occasionally, but not e
Avatar n tn Tremor is a common adverse effect of lyrica though in carpal tunnel syndrome you encounter tingling and numbness in the fingers, there is no mention of twitching. Fibromyalgia may cause fatigue, prolonged muscle spasms, twitching etc. so the thumb twitching could be due to fibromyalgia or a tremor as a result of pregabalin. Consult a neurologist for detailed workup on the cause of this thumb symptom since it is also causing so much of anxiety. Take care.
Avatar n tn I have a very good diet and take vitamin supplements within limits. I have widespread muscle twitching all over my body with some muscle weakness on my left side. My limbs feel like they are burning, tingling, insects are crawling or biting me or even a sensation of water pouring on them for almost 3 months. But there is a certain peculiarity, I get twitching in my perineum area which is constant and unrelenting, it's very frustrating.
Avatar m tn There is so much bad info on the net, but my understanding is als very rarely presents with twitching, and in the cases when it does the twitching stays localized for a while and then spreads later on. I am thinking my twitching might be due to bfs, fibromyalgia, anxiety, or a combination of the three. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I almost can't function regularly due to my als fear.

Avatar f tn The detox was for 10 days and it was almost 3 months ago. I have been experiencing muscle twitching the past few weeks all over my body & some eye blinking. (not bad)One said he felt it a limbic disorder from the rapid withdrawal from Lorazepam using Phenobarital which isn't fully cross-tolerant with Lorazepam. He said the phenobarbital will not prevent a constellation of neurological withdrawal symptoms.
Avatar f tn Starting last fall, I began experiencing back spasms and a feeling of weakness in my legs. This occurred day after my first-ever yoga class. My primary physician said I probably overdid the stretches and triggered a muscle rebound (contracting) problem. An MRI of my back was taken, showing osteoarthritis (which I've known about for years). In fact I've suffered from sciatica before but that was years ago and I've been mostly pain-free since then.
Avatar f tn potassium, calcium, sodium, magnesium, vitamin B complex, or vitamins B1, B3, or B6 and Vitamin D. Generally deficiencies of any of the above can cause muscle twitching and spasms in localized or generalized areas of the body. Get your kidney function, parathyroid gland function and adrenal function tests done because these affect the electrolyte balance in the body. Stress, alcohol, caffeine and fatigue all cause similar symptoms. Hence if you take alcohol or coffee then cut this down.

Avatar m tn My thumb twitched off and on for about a weak, but now the twitching is gone, and I have had no twitching of any sort for about a weak and half, until yesterday when my middle toe on my right foot twitched for about 15 seconds. I’m a 26 year old, healthy, very physically active male, with no family history of anything. I have been suffering with some stress lately but no more then normal I think. I have no loss of strength, and otherwise things are normal. Any suggestions for what’s causing.

Avatar n tn however there are other possibilities also like peripheral neuropathy, migraine, and like rightly mentioned allergies. Fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome and excessive anxiety and depression can also cause muscle twitches, tingling and nausea. I would suggest you to discuss all these possibilities also with your treating doctor. Lets us know if you need more information and keep us posted.
