Avatar n tn I had *awful* irritable bowel syndrome throughout chemo. Luckily (?), when I also had it during radiation, a nutritionist met with me. She recommended a supplement called "Acidopholis." It's the bacteria in the intestines which we all need to digest food, but chemo and radiation kill it. I used it faithfully and saw a radical improvement in my IBS. No more constipation/diarrhea. Wish I'd been told about it during chemo! (I take one called Multidopholis Plus.
Avatar m tn But for many years I had suffered from gastro problems which i and to some degree also the docs thought it all comes from the HCV infection, now I see that these problems still remain so i went onto a doc who is speciallist in this area and he told me that eventhough it is not exactlly IBS (Irritable bowel syndrome) I should treat it as it is IBS. 136956 tn?1688675680 Central Sensitivity Syndrome, as the name implies refers to a group of disorders namely fibromyalgia, myofascial pain syndrome, irritable bowel syndrome, chronic fatigue syndrome, headaches and restless legs syndrome. These have been grouped as there appears to be central sensitization, which simply means that the central nervous system has an exaggerated response to stimuli. Its a grouping no proven studies. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar f tn I do have loose ankles that like to give out on me, flat feet, easy bruising, scoliosis, irritable bowel syndrome and hyper mobility in my toes, elbows, fingers and thumbs (they extend farther than they should). However, my skin is not elastic or velvet like. Could this be EDS even without the skin abnormalities?
Avatar f tn Pain and fatigue in shoulder, neck, back of knees, associated with irritable bowel syndrome, low mood and chronic headaches need to be investigated for fibromyalgia. consult a rheumatologist for detailed evaluation, who would also want to exclude other pain and fatigue causes like rheumatoid arthritis, myeloma etc. If the diagnosis is confirmed, you may need behavioral therapy and tricyclic antidepressants in low doses. Wishing you all the best.

Although, he says that if it is IBS, it's the MOST EXTREME case of it he's ever seen. One thing to note, I have Fibromyalgia. My G.I. doc says a LOT of people with FM have GI problems. FM is caused by a genetic liver/kidney disfunction, so there could be a connection.... Does anyone else with these symptoms ALSO have Fibromyalgia?
