Avatar n tn Hi I was diagnosed about 6 years ago with fibro and I have all the fun stuff that seems to go along with it such as irritable bowel syndrome, in the last year I have become completely heat intolerant and I am literally dripping wet at work after just one hour and I work in an air conditioned building, I sweat at home, at night sleeping. I am absolutely miserable.

434278 tn?1324709825 So now I know that a lot of my issues are due to the fibromyalgia and am working to try and determine when it is fibro or Lupus. He didn't seem to care about treating it, just said that the depression meds I am on will help me sleep and thus help the fibro. Well I have kept telling him I can manage as I thought my issues were due to Lupus and I didn't want to go on prednisone.

2010625 tn?1329375656 I am also diagnosed with PMDD (Premenstural Dysphoric Disorder), Bipolar 1 w/ psychotic features, GAD (General Anxiety Disorder), PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder), IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrom), and Genital Herpes. I also have a history of headaches and migraines. I also have some social anxiety, but have been unable to talk to my psychiatrist about it, it is really hard to get in with them. It seems when my stress gets worse my pain gets worse.
Avatar n tn GERD, irritable bowel, hyperglycemia. I do beleive these problems are all secondary, and if I handled my Fibro better these would all be better, too. Any physician who treats you needs to be willing to let you make some decisions on your own, and maybe even try a variety of treatment options. For me, amitryptiline works wonders. For a friens, it's Remeron. For another, Tylenol PM works (although this doesn't induce a natural sleep, she swears it is all she needs).

Avatar n tn I do have irritable bowel syndrome which I have had for years. I was on birth control pills for almost 18 years. Did not have bad af when on them which is also a sign of endo. I have some of the symptoms but not all. Have a back injury from working in the medical field -- so I have always had back pain but really not so much when I have af. I do not have pelvic pain only af pangs and twangs. I am sooooo worried that I have this... My god please don't let it be ......
456333 tn?1206976813 Irritable bowel syndrome, gerd, overactive bladder, sicca or chronic dry eye syndrome, hypothyroidism, TMJ. I am on medicine for all. For months when I wake up at night I am really sore in my upper back/neck. Terrible headaches that start from the base of my skull. I thought it was all TMJ but now for the last 4 days I'm achey, when I'm lying in bed my feet and hands hurt.
Avatar f tn I was wondering why nausea and or irritable bowel syndrome or anything to do with abdominal discomfort isn't one of the categories for this tracker since it is such a big symptom issue for that condition. Also, is there someway I can add it myself?
551343 tn?1506834118 This autonomic nervous system dysfunction could induce other symptoms of fibromyalgia such as irritable bowel, urinary discomfort, limb numbness, anxiety and dryness of the eyes and mouth. ...........AGAIN THAT WOULD MAKE SENSE TO SOME OF MY SYMPTOMS. How on earth are people supposed to really get a diagnosis of an illness that no one seems to really understand. Most GPs just treat it as a problem with the muscles and that they ache and patients need to exercise and get more healthy.
Avatar m tn Welcome to the gastroenterology community! IBS or irritable bowel syndrome has a common symptom of "feeling of incomplete evaluation". Have you seen a gastroenterologist about this? I would recommend undergoing some testing to determine if this is the problem or if there is a different problem.
136956 tn?1425609872 Central Sensitivity Syndrome, as the name implies refers to a group of disorders namely fibromyalgia, myofascial pain syndrome, irritable bowel syndrome, chronic fatigue syndrome, headaches and restless legs syndrome. These have been grouped as there appears to be central sensitization, which simply means that the central nervous system has an exaggerated response to stimuli. Its a grouping no proven studies. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar f tn I do have loose ankles that like to give out on me, flat feet, easy bruising, scoliosis, irritable bowel syndrome and hyper mobility in my toes, elbows, fingers and thumbs (they extend farther than they should). However, my skin is not elastic or velvet like. Could this be EDS even without the skin abnormalities?
665881 tn?1248930597 Another problem I have had a lot of trouble with is Irritable Bowel Syndrome. This is also one of the problems with Fibro. The last thing I have a lot of trouble with is running into door frames. I have trouble judging distances. I notice I more trouble with this when I'm having fibro fog. Hope you find what works best for you.
1852058 tn?1320162300 But when I consume too much dairy or chocolate, my headaches, fatigue and bowel problems will increase. Oh, by the way, IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) is quite common with fibro, so if you're experiencing that, it's "normal" - can be mostly diarrhea, or mostly constipation, or a combination of both. Mine is the combination kind - one day I can be on the toilet constantly with the diarrhea and then a few days later I'm very constipated.

Avatar f tn For example, it is often associated with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS), irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), rheumatoid arthritis (RA), systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and other diagnoses. A characteristic of FMS is the presence of multiple tender points that are painful to pressure from, for example, your thumb, that would ordinarily not cause any painful sensation in normal perople. FMS is usually diagnosed by a rheumatologist or other physician that deals with chronic illnesses.
182493 tn?1348056515 The usual course of action is prescription antibiotics, and although frequently effective in killing the bacterial culprit, antibiotics can exacerbate the digestive problems that already affect an estimated 80% of FM/ME/CFS patients who suffer from irritable bowel syndrome - IBS. One can therefore easily understand the fear and anxiety a patient experiences at the first sign of an oncoming cold. To a patient, it means the possibility of several months of suffering.
Avatar m tn So does insomnia, as well as irritable bowel syndrome. In my experience, stress and even panic attacks have frequently accompanied my fibromyalgia, and i know that depression is also common. I had a major episode of clinical depression many years before developing fibromyalgia, and many other people with fibromyalgia have also had bouts of depression, But I never have felt as stressed or as panicy as I have since developing fibromyalgia.
298579 tn?1192250448 I've never really mentioned it to doctors as it isn't all the time and my family has a history of irritable bowel syndrome (although I don't think I get it) so I'd put it down to that. For me, I wouldn't say it was every time I had sex but then, that may be due to lack of arousal sometimes!!! I do get it pretty much every time I orgasm through masterbation. Also a few times I have woken with the worst cramps and it would have to go and have a bowel movement and it would go after about 20mins.
Avatar f tn It's very discouraging when Drs have no idea what a nissen fundoplication is and try to diagnose all your symptoms as Irritable Bowel Syndrome!! IBS and gas-bloat from complications of a nissen fundo have nothing to do with one another.
665881 tn?1248930597 Even if a proper exam is done and the criteria is met, a diagnosis of fibromyalgia means you have a syndrome (a group of symptoms) without a known cause. So you still don't know what your underlying problem is. I feel that several of your symptoms like mine, do not fit with FMS. My symptoms started after a bullseye rash. So it is likely that mine are related to lyme disease. Have you been tested for viral and bacterial illnesses as these are often the culprit with these kind of symptoms?
Avatar n tn A possible way to support this is to examine if there is a higher frequency of rhinorhea (runny nose) in persons who have Irritable Bowel Syndrome. You would expect a higher incidence of rhinorhea on deification in IBS suffers.
Avatar f tn I just found out about Post Ablation Syndrome and can't get my gyno to call me back....looking for new doc and some relief in 2012!
